Starting June 25th, the classic TV channel MeTV, will become MeTV Toons, a 24/7 classic cartoons channel, in the very same vein that Cartoon Network originally started out as over 30 years ago. Many shows from Hanna-Barbara, MGM, Warner-Bros, Thimble Theater and other studios across the 20th century will have their shows aired for the first time in decades. With Cartoon Network on its way out, MeTV has come out of left field to be the spiritual successor we've all been hoping for. Showing animation classics for generations to come.

And here is the full schedule.

And here's where you can find out if it's airing in your area.

This looks nice, as it is an unexpected move from MeTV. I didn't watch most of those shows when I was younger, but it seems like a neat idea for a TV channel to air shows from the past. :cheeky-smile:

@Denim&Venöm I did notice an error in the OP, however, as it indicates that MeTV will become MeTV Toons rather than the Toons becoming a second channel. I haven't seen anywhere that says the original MeTV is changing it's schedule to only Toons, and it seems there will be two different channels based on the MeTV and MeTV Toons websites being different and not mentioning anything about the original channel being changed. This makes sense as well considering if the original MeTV switched from what it is now to a channel consisting entirely of cartoons, there might be backlash from those who love watching it and the shows that target an older audience than cartoons. I'll do more research, but I have not yet found anything indicating such a change to the MeTV channel.

@Ganondorf8 The above paragraph should answer your question, as there seems to be no indication that MeTV itself is changing.

This makes way more sense than simply changing the channel from one set of content to another.

It's cool to see all that content in one place, but I have my concerns to be honest. MeTV had been one of those sources that showed every cartoon without censorship or apologies. But if it gets too mainstream it may lose that edge that made classic cartoons so great. I hope they stick to their guns and keep their content intact.
