Alright, so basically, I don't understand vegans. You don't buy meat 'cause the process involves killing animals, right? It's already dead. Not to offend none of y'all, I know some can be more sensative, just tryna understand. Why go vegan and what's good about it?

People go vegan for various reasons and tbh it's really nobody's business why. No shade ofc but people can eat however they want. 

That being said there are other reasons people go vegan besides not killing animals. My grandmother was forced to due to the extent of the severity of her digestive issues. Her diet is even more restrictive now due to how things have worsened. I myself went vegan for a few months around this time due to a doctors recommendation of last year due to my own gi issues. The only reason I stopped was due to it being expensive and it didn't work. 

That being said if I knew it would work I would do it again in a heartbeat. Gi issues suck.

It's already dead, and it seems such a shame to go uneaten. However, every unsold carcass translates to less slaughter down the road. Morality, personal health, environmental impact and substitutions/alternatives all lower the demand. An oversupply loses profits, and the provision of any good or service will ultimately become more costly to maintain with the decline of the consumer base.

A cut of sirloin may find it's way to the trash, but by doing so it, it and every other bit of beef sacrificed will go towards saving the whole cow, and every cow that comes after.

I know people have their reasons for a lot of things. Whether it be a matter of necessity or based on a perceived moral issue. I can’t fault anyone for doing something they think will help the animal population, even though I don’t expect it’s going to make a huge difference to the overall picture. Health priorities are what they are and those who can’t eat meat may lament the fact but health has to take precedent. I’ve had my share of GI problems but thank goodness none of them required me to avoid meat. As I see it, humans are carnivores by nature; we have incisors designed for eating meat, and meat is part of a healthy balanced diet for most humans. I find it hard to go against nature when I smell a steak on the barbeque, but I don’t fault those who have the strength of conviction to do so. And I wouldn’t be qualified to comment on their motivations.

They don't want to eat animals that have been killed. That's vegetarian. But vegans don't eat any animal products, eggs or dairy, that's for health reasons.

Actually, that's often for moral reasons as well.  Many vegans feel that it's morally wrong to eat anything that comes from an animal, as animals are often exploited and mistreated even if they're not slaughtered for meat.  For instance, dairy cows are treated pretty horribly by a lot of the dairy industry.

Yeah, I guess that's true.

I've always wondered do vegans eat honey? Technically an animal product but only from insects and it's basically healthy.

I shared a 6 piece Happy meal with my cat who turned 15 last night.

@Fluttershutter No animals products whatsoever. Honey has to be taken, so that's a no. Roadkill for meat, leather etc, no, in part because it can be argued that the death by another person's car, although accidental, doesn't change anything. Shellac which is used to coat a variety of foods and products is a waste product from beetles, but they use it to form tunnels to travel through safely across tree branches. Even manure is a no no by some, but that's getting niche, and you'd be having to grow everything yourself.
