And while many a name I have had on ze internets, they are all an intrinsic part of me, that I shall not depart.

Also, I accidently made Sharp Wit my name on my first Uber account, and it was a blast having drivers call me that.

So, it would depend. I don't think I would sell my name to a company or even an individual for 1k. Maybe if they offer more, we're talking 20k at least. I'll need more than 1k to overlook the ethical issues that come with selling my identity to some other entity. If someone just paid me 1k to never use the username Iforgotmybrain again and that's all? I might take it, since there's no real ethical dilemma like with the previous scenario. I can always come up with another username, or just go back to using the one I made up when I was 5.

You'd have to offer way more then that. And even then, why my name specifically? 
It's personal to me. It means nothing to someone else.
And since you can change your display name, I am not sure how much it would matter since I could easily just change my name to "The Real Samurai Equine".

I'd ask what selling my username even means. Does it mean that I'm selling my account/likeness? Will they be able to impersonate me? Or are they just so inclined to my username that they are willing to pay $1000 for it? Any of these scenarios are rather silly on an internet forum like this, though. It's hard for me to imagine it properly.

If it was just simply giving up my username, sure. I'll take that money, it'll help me afford food, which we all need in this economy.

I'd accept. It's the person that's important, not the username. I have many other ideas for my username, those who know me from Discord know that I'm changing my name there quite frequently.
