It is with a heavy heart I must inform you all that the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osborne, has passed away, aged 76.

The frontman for the band that changed music forever, that kick started the birth of heavy metal and the band he had his final ever show with, Black Sabbath. An artist who soared to mainstream success with his solo work. A performer whose real life eccentricities and hard partying life style made him a pop culture icon and reality TV pioneer.

Many people thought he wouldn't make it this far. Just as many people thought he wouldn't make it period. Just about any crazy idea you can think of for a hard partying rocker was started by him. It felt like for many that if his lifestyle couldn't kill him, nothing will. To have made it this far, perhaps he made friends in high and/or low places. He did sell his soul for rock n' roll after all. By all accounts, it looks like a pretty fair trade.

The fact I got this news not from the web or the radio, but at work from a supervisor and an elderly co-worker, shows just how wide Ozzy's reach truly was.

Rest In Power, Ozzy. Your legacy will live on.

Ozzy Osbourne dies at 76 after legendary music career and personal ...

Feel free to share your favorite Ozzy/Sabbath songs or any tracks he was a guest on. Heck, share stories if you saw him in person.

I never did, but my dad did. He and everybody else were excited to have an after show meet n' greet with him during the Bark At The Moon tour... For the first two hours anyways. Went from :ticking: 'I can't believe I get to meet Ozzy!' to :lostit:'Where the hell is that fat bastard!?' Though my dad was a bit classier. Said 'Good show, tonight.' And Ozzy went 'Thanks mate.' or something. And then signed his copy of Bark at the Moon.

He still has it somewhere in all the boxes backed from grandma's garage. When (and if) we finally unpack all that, that is getting framed.

This song was part of the cassette single for Mama, I'm Coming Home.  I heard this and fell in love with this track.  Rest easy, Ozzy, and thanks for many years of great music.

Rest in peace, Ozzy. I can't remember how many songs of his I happened to hear on the radio, but I definitely recognize his name! If he can even have that reach, then he was definitely a music legend!

I saw him and Black Sabbath 9 years ago live in Melbourne, it was their final tour ever, so glad I got to see them before the end, I'll never forget it. R.I.P Ozzy, you beauty. He'll be up there with Lemmy.

Had bought an album known as Diary Of A Madman earlier today in honor of Ozzy Osbourne on Amazon. Have not regretted that purchase. I plan on getting more if possible, but this album will do for now.

I'll always remember a number of the iconic songs that made Ozzy famous, but there is one specific song that has a special place in my heart.

It's a rare song that not many know about.

Gonna put it in spoilers because the title is kind of ironic considering the news. No disrespect is intended at all. I genuinely just love this song.

Spoiler

I have no idea where this song is. I don't know what album nor what single it comes from. Would love to own a copy some day. I only found it coincidentally in the early 2000's, but it will always be special to me.

He may be gone, but he'll always be alive in our hearts, and his legacy will be immortal.
