Vector Test: My OC

Testing out the capabilities of Inkscape. This was originally hand-drawn which I drew the vector over. This is my oc by the way. Storm Eye is his name.

It's nice for a first vector, but here a few tips:

 

- Use the least amount of points possible, like that there are no wobbly lines! Like that part: http://puu.sh/D8dR , or http://puu.sh/D8em

 

- The tail "flows" out of the back, and does not simply follow it, so be sure that the tail is pointed upwards instead of straight.

 

- This one is a purely view point based opinion, but the way I see it, the stomach should go over the thigh instead of under it, as he seems to be oriented towards us.

Yep, that's why I precised that it depends on how you see it. This way is fine too, imo.

-the pupil in his left eye is a bit too large and there shoulf be a bit of white visible

-the wing should sit a bit lower on the body

-this could just be me, but the yellow looks a bit too artifical , maybe make it a bit more golden-ish.

Cutie Mark is a dragon because pretty much my entire life I've been obsessed with them, and studied them for many years. In the MLP universe, I would probably end up working for Celestia/Luna as a dragon researcher.

 

-The reflection is correct for a dragon-pony eye design. Nightmare Moon had them, and I believe Luna's royal guards as well had them. It only has one reflection dot in the upper corner, and has no iris highlights.

-I've tried experimenting with it. The pupil on the left eye is the same size as the right, but I've been unable to get it to look better than that. The same with making white appear.

-That's true. This was originally based off of a hand-drawn sketch and not after the actual show, so there will be some inconsistencies.

-The green is kind of my color, same with the electric indigo and black, they represent me. The high contrast color scheme may not be a lot like the show, but it's not too hard on the eyes.

 

I'm also working on adding my own custom armor to this vector.

Here's the updated version with armor.

Changes:

-Smoothed out body/deleted extra nodes

-Tweaked eye size and pupil size

-Changed tail direction to make it a bit more upturned

-Armor added. Based off of Lunar Guards
