Garage sales, and taking advantage of people who don't what things are worth

I once bought a small antique kiddy piano at Good Will. It looked and sounded just like Schroeder's from the Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon. You know, when Lucy yelled "That's It!" when he made it sound all dinky and tinny. I paid $15 dollars. It was marked $30, but the sticker was blue, so I got it half price because it was blue stickers on half-off sale that day. I brought it home and cleaned it up with furniture polish. Two days later I sold it at an antique and collectable store for $150 bucks! Another time at the flea market, I found this weird double bladed ornate knife. (I love going through the discarded junk people abandon rather then pack up) I walked it to the other side of the flea market, and sold it for $50 to a sword and knife dealer! It was the quickest turnover I ever had! That thing was scary sharp, too!

I do remember selling a bed that was in piss poor condition for 300 dollars and a crappy mini-fridge for another 150. Honestly that bed was just an accident to happen.

Since I live in the middle of nowhere, in Kentucky (Aka the Sports Obsessed State), seeing a garage sale with something I'd want is a rarity. But once, I went to a garage sale that had a SNES collection of Earthbound, Final Fantasy 2 and 3, and Illusion of Gaia. They were all priced at 10 dollars each, but I haggled my way to get all 4 games for 5 dollars.

 

I also went to the flea market once, but all they had were games that aren't rare or I don't care about.

I've noticed many people selling things too low but I myself have never purchased anything from garage sales. I wanted to scream when someone sold an Ibanez SR600 bass guitar for £100. It was worth about £530.

I once found a DS on the floor of a bus. Now before anybody gets mad at me for taking some kids DS, I spent almost 2 weeks trying to find who it belonged to by asking if anybody had lost a DS, and if they had, to describe the case it was in and the games that were in it. Never found them, so free DS, free hello kitty case, and free nintendogs. All of which I sold except the DS.

 

Not really taking advantage of people who don't look up prices, but I still got a free DS.
