This is a Princess Luna sketch that I did, what do you think? Tips for future drawings would be really appreciated! c:

:'D Thank you! sdfbjb I'm glad you like it! I worked hard on this. I really want to add some more detail and maybe outline and color it, but I'm afraid it will ruin it. :c I'm pretty terrible at outlining. e_e

It doesn't look like you have too much to outline. Use a pen and start slowly. =P

The lines for the horn should be straighter and there should be less lines going around/on the horn.

The head could be a bit rounder but I don't draw alicorns so this might not apply.

Thanks for the criticism! The only thing about her head is that the reference picture I was using had her face in more of a square shape than round, but thank you again! I'm going to go back and make some more changes. c: Edited by Scootaloo~

Two things stood out to me as incorrect here, the eye's seem a little to wide and pointed while the horn has too many lines and is a bit too thick. It should be more of a straight line leading up to a slight point. That's about it, keep drawing!

Yeah, I knew when I was drawing that the eye was a bit off, but I just wanted to get it finished. The horn was also something I was lazy on. xD Thank you! ^-^

You definitely show promise. So right now I'm going to tell you to keep drawing.

 

Let's start with the big stuff, her horn is about the right length, but should be much skinnier. Maybe about half as wide. There should also be about half to a third as many lines in the horn. I would also recommend making her ear a bit taller. Her eye should be more forward. The eye itself could also use some tweaking, but that's to your discretion. I would also recommend making her neck a bit thinner as well but due to it being a headshot, that's totally up to you and your art style.

 

You did a good job on her mane though, and don't be afraid to take what I've said with a grain of salt, I am not a master of the arts, and nobody ever will be (despite a few claims from a few arrogant people.) It's your art, let it be what you want.

Thank you! I accept all kinds of criticism (spelling?) whether it's good or bad, because it helps me to be able to do better next time I draw something similar. I really appreciate everything that people have been telling me, and I highly doubt that they are art experts too, but I always want to see what looks right or what looks off to other people. So, thanks again!
