Idea for Canadian Bronies and people who like Canadians

If you're a Canadian Brony like myself you are most likely aware that MLP airs on Treehouse Network, a network dedicated for pre schoolers. While MLP is intended for little girls, it's usually the ones who are at that age where they like stuff like MLP, but dislike stuff like Sesame Street. It'd be more suited for a network like YTV (it's like the Canadian version of Nick) where the main demographic is 7 to 13. So no need to censor the word loser and all that petty stuff.

Considering YTV airs commercials for the MLP toys it'd also help Hasbro earn more profit from the toys if they aired the show on the same network. Because Treehouse doesn't have product commercials.

And for people like me who don't have Satellite TV, we have no access to Treehouse but get YTV, thus increasing the viewership.

A way of approaching this issue would be to start a petition for Chorus entertainment, the company in charge of both networks to move the show to YTV. That and sending letters that kindly ask if they could do such a thing.

If this is a bad idea please tell me what I can do to improve it.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

Interesting idea, and it sounds like it might be a good marketing move. One would hope that Hasbro has already looked into it, but who knows...you might be able to help open the door to future Canadian Bronies by petitioning for show's move to another network.

I wholeheartedly approve. I don't live in Canada, but this is a good idea with logical reasoning. Go for it.

Watch it on youtube, plug it into your tv boom-its on tv, no commercials, derpy's best voice

its the best

I already have the uncensored Derpy episode on DVD, plus I mentioned the wise business decisions above. That and I like watching shows on TV rather than online.

Canada really gets shafted when it comes to a lot of good shows getting aired here.

Anime especially.

You're telling me. YTV, owned by Corus Entertainment, has just flat out declined over the years. Back in the day, it used to show kick-ass shows like Teen Titans, Dragon Ball Z, Inuyasha, The Powerpuff Girls, ReBoot, Transformers, and Samurai Jack - to name a handful. Now what? We have sitcoms that I frankly do not give a hoot about.

That being said, Treehouse (a "branch" of YTV, you could say) just recently started airing the second season of MLP: FIM. Huh, for a Canadian-made show, that is really sucky for all us Canadian bronies because we can't get the actual channel where it prides itself in - The Hub, and that's an American-only channel. :(

So, for now - livestreams and youtube remain my source for pony episodes.

As a Canadian, I kind of disagree with moving MLP from Treehouse to YTV. Even if it has a few words that, while harmless to us, could mean something else to preschoolers. It is a good idea, but I feel somewhat off with the idea.

I've seen it before on Treehouse, but I never watch TV, only streams/youtube, so this doesn't affect me at all and I can't really have an opinion on it.

I'm Canadian and I agree,

the fact that MLP:FiM is on Treehouse is facepalming.

The fact that they censor it is even worse -.- ~

I grew-up watching and loving YTV :)

I support Canadians, I thank them for creating the awesome sport known as ice hockey, I've recently became a fan of the NHL, and I also thank them for co-creating My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. As for this thread, I agree with the OP, therefore:

I think it's hilarious the show is voiced by Canadian/Canadian-American VAs and animated mostly in Canada, but the official premieres in Canada are months after it premiers in the US.

Yeah, it should probably be on YTV, it's on Nickelodeon in most countries anyway.

OBJECTION!

Jokes aside, if you have Satellite TV it means you also got Treehouse, as well as YTV. It's as simple as changing the channel.

THEY WHAT?!?! How can you censor loser?! I am completely against MLP on Treehouse. I mean, there's two booze jokes in it! I vote for moving it to YTV or something or other. (Canadian)

I'm guessing they put it on Treehouse because they think it's just like the previous generations - which were all tea parties and other stereotypical girly junk. Therefore, really for little girls. This is why it isn't as prominent in Canada as it is in the U.S - if MLP were put on CRUNCH on YTV every Saturday, it would immediately start to boom.
