Bodyswap episode

That would be an interesting episode, because from what I can tell they all switched with there personality opposites. I would want to see Rarity's mind in RD's body because could you imagine RD (with Rarity's mind of course saying something about fashion to somepony who doesn't know whats going on. The result would be hilarious.

Yeah, this would make an awesome episode. But, of course, it needs a lesson. Perhaps, life is hard for everypony? Now to take that idea and make it sound like Twilight or one of the other wrote it.

I would want to see the hilarity of that happening. What if Fluttershy and Rainbow switched, and Fluttershy had to do all her duties and perhaps perform extreme stunt she would hate doing?

Heh, could be a lot of fun. Especially if they have to masquerade as one another so as to not cause mass hysteria and/or get Twi in trouble with Celestia.

RD ends up in Rarity's body, where she feels positively tortured by the need to be a "proper lady"

Rarity ends up in Pinkie's body, where she learns to take herself (and other things) a little less seriously

Pinkie ends up in Twi's body, where she almost dies of boredom at the library (and Spike gets to be the "responsible" one, for once)

Twi ends up in Fluttershy's body, where she has to get her hooves dirty while cleaning the hen house

Fluttershy ends up in AJ's body, where she has to be outgoing and decisive while running the family business

AJ ends up in RD's body, where she struggles with the whole "flying" thing, and causes a massive storm to pummel Canterlot

...which finally brings the whole situation to Celestia's attention. However, when she visits Twi to see what's going on, she seems...a little off. Episode ends with Celestia fixing the mix-up, then returning to the castle where...dun, dun DUUUUNN!!...it is revealed that the two sisters had also swapped bodies accidentally (so it was actually Luna who had visited Ponyville), and they can't quite figure out how to reverse its effect on Alicorns.

That would be a pretty good episode idea.

Rarity would end up in Apple Jacks body and try and clean her up. She would also learn to get dirty at the end.

Apple Jack would be put into Rainbow Dash body. She would have to learn how to control her speed.

Rainbow Dash would end up Rarity's body. RD could not control the unicorn magic or she would have to act proper at an event.

Fluttershy would be put into Pinkie Pies body and she would have to set up a big party and she would not be use to it.

Twilight would be in Fluttershys body and would lean not to use magic. Also she would have to deal with all the animals bothering her. Twilight would also spend the episodes trying to catch Pinkie Pie.

Finally Pinkie Pie would be in Twilights body. She would be the magic to teleport all over ponyville and do goofy and silly things.

That is what I think.

Mother of Celestia...you're right. If Pinkie Pie took her knack for breaking reality, then combined it with Twilight's magic...her trolling would know no bounds!

NO GOD. PLEASE NO. NO. NOOOOOOOOO--

I personally hate these episodes in anime, cartoons... Everything. They're all lame... Plus where's the lesson in this anyways?

I vote for Applejack and Big Macintosh somehow switching bodies the day before the big Rodeo. That would be funny. Disney managed to pull off Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable swapping bodies the day before a big cheerleader competition, without it getting too weird! I bet Kim suspected something was up when Ron spent WAY too long locked in the bathroom while wearing her body! Edited by cuteycindyhoney

I was actually thinking Pinkie Pie and Celestia swap bodies. Now that would be funny, seeing Pinkie Pie absolutely ruin Celestia's figure eating all the cake in the castle and Celestia being able to enjoy all the cake in a more youthful body.

As for the others:

Twilight-Trixie

Rainbow Dash-Fluttershy

Applejack-Rarity.

I'd honestly say I'd have to agree with him. It sounds good in theory, but it's already become a cartoon cliche and not a very interesting one at that. Sure, it would have some moments of course, but overall I don't think it would fly very well.

Yeah, I can definitely see this working. It has worked for other shows, and I think it would be pretty funny in MLP. The lesson could be (if the whole Twilight messing up a spell thing is the cause) don't put your friends in danger or something. It would probably have to have more meaning than that.

Well, MLP:FiM has sometimes taken rather known plots and do a unique take on them, so it is possible they could make something good out of it. However, I will have to admit that in reality, this type of plot has pretty much been done to death by nearly every other cartoon and show there is. Sure, the writers of the show are good, but at the end of the day, we have to ask ourselves, what can they do that the writers of all the cartoons and shows who've used this plot haven't

COOLZ.

Idea!

Applejack-Applebloom Can't you just imagine Applebloom walking around and trying to applebuck? Those apples would never fall!

Pinkie Pie-Rainbow Dash Pinkie Pie would be pranking.... WITH HERSELF.

Rarity-Cheerile Imagine Rarity's reaction to finding herself in the body of a teacher.

Twilight Sparkle-Fluttershy Oh, imagine such a shy pony having to manage a library...

Here's another question. When they body switch, do the bodies retain their original voice, or do the voice actors of character try to imitate the body they are in? (if that makes sense)

It would be more fun (and less confusing) if their own voices followed them into the other body. And yes this means they would have to try to talk like each other. Hilarity would ensue. *imagines AJ trying to speak "proper and lady-like" wile masquerading as Rarity* ^_^

And apparently I don't watch all that many cartoons, because I didn't realize that this idea is apparently very cliche.

What bout the powerpuff girls? Lauren worked on that show, and the bodyswap was actually pretty interesting xD

If they were able to make a pink alicorn princess that spreads love fit in awesomely on the show, I'm sure they can manage to do more xD

and the lesson is always about to not underestimate others without walking a mile in their shoes

I personally would love to see what the MLP team can do with this :3

I would expect more like in the vid where they keep their accent but still have the other ponie's voice, say, Applejack keeping her southern accent in Rarity's body.

I would love to see this episode! It should start off with the ponies all having to do something 'important' that becomes the semi-goal of the episode. It has to be things they're particularly good at. For example, the semi-goal could be to perform in a talent contest with each pony doing routines they're good at... Or it could be a "day in the life" of the ponies kind of thing, examples below.

Rarity has dresses that need to be made

AJ has trees to buck/animals to herd/apples to sell/A FARM TO SAVE!

RD is going to perform in front of the Wonderbolts

Pinkie has a special party she has to host.

Fluttershy has to tend some animals (need a better event idea)

Twilight has a spell that needs to be cast... which becomes the bodyswap instigator.

Rarity = Rainbow Dash

Rarity attempts to fly for RD in the Wonderbolts competition.

Rainbow Dash is stuck trying to use Unicorn magic to make a bunch of dresses

Twilight = Pinkie Pie

Good god. Pinkie with Twilight's unicorn magic... EVERYONESGONNABECOMEACUPCAKE!

Twilight has to get over her practical, logical way of approaching life in order to be spontaneous and fun.

Applejack = Fluttershy

Fluttershy has to overcome her timid nature to help out on Applejack's farm

Applejack can't heavyhoof Fluttershy's animals, she has to learn to be dainty and gentle. And realize Fluttershy isn't made for Applebucking, hehe.

Basically, the shoe is on the other hoof now. :) The girls have a lot of learn from each other and I think they'll appreciate each other more. The bodyswap could work between any of the ponies though. These are just my ideas.

I think bodyswapping would make a cute episode. I could also see it spawning a lot of clopfics, however...

Personally, I'd like to see Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy switch, if only for the reason that I want to see how the flying skills would carry over :)

If they can pull this off one day and impress me, i'll treat everyone to cupcakes and muffins.
