Pendulum respectively Cybernetika Mash-Ups, aka Random Bursts of Inspiration

so, i was bored, and pissed off at my mp3 player. so, out of the blue, i made these mash-ups.

 

in case you don't what a mash-up is, it's when you take 2 songs, and mix them together as 1, making it sound as one single, coherent song. this is the first time i've done any mash-ups, and i liked how they turned out, so i thought, why not post them here?

 

first of all, the Pendulum mash-up. i actually had done this one before, but this was a better attempt i did at this, imo.

i found Salt in the Wounds and Slam to have very identical song structures, so i kept pondering how they would sound like if they were mashed up together. pretty damn well, actually! i only had to remove one structure of Salt in the Wounds to make them sound good together:

the second one, just came to me, out of the blue: what would Cybernetika's Devoid Of Gravity and Electron Tracker sound like mashed up? they were pretty long songs, so it ought to work out well, and well, they did! i only had to change the BPM of one song, and remove a part of Electron Tracker, so they would fit together. might sound a bit messy, due to the songs complex structures, but in the end, i thought it was a job well done, after all:

So I just happened to stumble across these two lovely mash-ups...

 

I must say, Viscra... you did a very good job with these, especially the Psychedellic/D&B mash-up.

I didn't find the D&B mash-up very interesting, to be honest. But the Psychedelic/D&B... wow... speechless.

 

Never thought that psychedelic and D&B would fit so well together, but you managed to convince me that they did.

My idea of a mash-up usually involves opening two tracks in different tabs and playing them simultaneously. XD

Glad to be back in this section, but I've only had time to listen to samples so far. Even downloading files like crazy, I still have a lot to catch up on. O_O
