I CAN nullify (and absorb) any shadow/darkness elemental epic spell, as I possess an epic feat which allows me to do so. Epic magic can beat epic magic.

Well, yeah, except there are more Epic beings casting the spell, and thus your Epic feat cannot successfully absorb the spell, as it gets out-epiced.

These shadow dragons are empowered by the Lord of Darkness, you know. (The whole area belongs to him, he's not going to suffer a Light Dragon of any sort.) They can bypass any silly feats by working together.
