A lot of commercial apples are pretty bland; we are a bit spoilt in the UK as often there will be a dozen or more different varieties of apple on offer in the larger supermarkets, all with distinct flavours and appearance.

Strawberries are nice too of course but I prefer apple and raspberry to apple and strawberry (the sharper and stronger flavour of raspberries contrasts better to the flavour of the apple juice)
