Not rune hunter, Relic Hunters Zero.

It's a simple pixel shoot 'em up on Steam. Free and awesome.

Basically the goal is to shoot everything dead and dig up treasure.

I very rarely use Steam for games since I'm pretty much a Nintendo only gamer. But I have actually gotten two fun games on Steam before (neither of them are free, though).

 

One's called Papers, Please, where you play as an immigration officer at a border checkpoint in a fictional country and you need to check everyone's paperwork to determine if there's any discrepancies. You let them in if everything's in order, or deny them if there are any issues with their documents. Or later on, you can arrest them depending on the nature of the discrepancy (i.e. forgeries) which is always great fun. It gets really intense later in the game as you get a lot of documents to check through, and you want to get through as many arrivals as you can before the day's over or you won't make enough money to live (i.e. game over).

 

The other's called VVVVVV, which is a platform game where, instead of jumping, you invert gravity. It's a really interesting concept and all the levels are designed well to take advantage of it. It can be quite a difficult game, but it has checkpoints everywhere which stops it from getting frustrating.

You should! It's really fun! On the surface, a game about checking documents doesn't sound too interesting, but it really seems to turn it into a puzzle of sorts where you really need to manage your time and even the space on your in-game desk to get through everything as quickly as possible! And it is incredibly fun to arrest people because their name is misspelled on one of their documents or something (forgery!), although unfortunately you can't do that from the start of the game. And there's all sorts of other fun things that happen from time to time, such as people attempting to bribe you to let them in (and if I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure you can take the bribe money and still deny them if you want ).
