He sighed, getting to his hooves slowly. He put the badge on the counter and dug through his drawers until he found a sash he could clip it onto. He dug through his closet until he found the gun licensed under his father's name, which made it his gun. He put that in a holster and put that on the sash, then looked at himself in the mirror. He looked at the bottle across the room. He walked over to it, picked it up, and upended it into the drain. He took the note and re-folded it, putting it under his gun, then walked outside, locking his appartment.

Karasu's aura and mental voice changed drastically. 'Its not your turn yet' he replied, 'You must be patient. It's all part of the game.'

"Gama is the one on the left," said Jack, "I burried him with his brushes, but I could never find the body. I don't think I ever will. So, how's the slacker?"

"He's out; must've been a rough day. Did you do anything to him? You know, other than shock him to death about making him kill you. And how exactly do you know you're going to change, anyway? Is it remotely possible that you could, like, not become some super powerful demon character? I've had enough of those." She sighed outwardly, looking at Gama's grave, "I think I'll make a song about him." (Gtg to bed)

The sudden shift in aura alerted Wits to his location. "Oh, there you are. How are you doing? Would you like something to drink?" He continued to walk towards him. "Y'know something interesting? Every connection is a two-way connection. Let me give you some of my images." He transmitted some of his happiest memories: time with parents, playing with his best friend, graduating from college, helping save Manehattan.

 

"There's some good in this world," he said. "And its worth fighting for."

"Those images are pretty." Karasu said, "Pretty like you." He was now speaking in his normal tone, but when he tried to intimidate Wits, his voice was deeper and burly. "Like I said, it's not your turn, but I always have time to talk with a handsome stallion like yourself. Tell me, what did you learn about my abilities while you were in my head?"

 

 

 

"At this point, no. Sadly not." said Jack, "Nothing about me is natural. I am about sixty five years old because in the last fifty years, Ive only aged five! I thought becoming a Malificar would help me keep people from dying... or maybe I was just afraid of dying myself. I can't remember."

Magneus was just following Wits around in ethereal form, removing the color from himself though. That was the only skill he didn't share with the supposed 'demon', there had been alot of those going around recently. "Hey detective, when do you guys normally go and eat? My stomach doesn't agree with empty..."

"Oh detective, your pet is just wonderful!" Karasu commented, "I've already seen that colts wolf trick from afar, but it is much more interesting up close." He looked at Magneus with his devilish eyes. "Tell me how your body feels when you transform. Is it pleasurable?"

Den slowly walked, thinking. He was trying to think of ways to make it up to Cherry Blossom. His feet randomly led him to a boutique, and he walked inside. He purchased some flowers and wandered to the police station, where Cherry had been locked up by Sapphire. In the basement. He sighed and went downstairs, setting the flowers in Cherry's cell. He just sat there. If Cherry was conscious, she'd be able to sense his pain, he realized.

"Meh, it feels like the first stretch in the morning, pretty good, but doesn't last very long. And were not exactly 'partners', I just follow him around and on occasion help... or at least I will when something fun happens"

Cherry Blossom woke and was feeling very light headed. She remembered every bit of what happened yesterday and shivered from what she had done. Cherry Blossom noticed Den, but she turned away from him and his flowers. She was extremely sad about killing all those ponies, but she remembered she hadn't laid a hoof on any of the newborn foals. Her ears still drooped in sorry as she started crying.

Karasu began filling Wit's head with more images of horror. They were all scenes of ponies, griffons and mules at their very darkest moments in history, many before Equestria came into existence. He narrated the images with his own voice, "I have seen a colecion of this planet's darkest evils. I have seen droves of refugees beating foals to death for a loaf of bread! I have seen children hacked down as their mothers watched and a mother hacked down before her child! Have you ever seen a horde of bandits raid a defenceless village, slaughtering its residence, then dragging their corpses into a field; dancing on their bodies as their bones break beneath their feet, singing happy songs? These are the worms! Vermin! Our race is a failed one! We will eat and destroy until nothing is left but piss!"

Den cringed visibly when she turned away from him. He set the flowers down inside her cell, "I didn't want to Cherry. But there was one particular foal I'd thought I killed. I helped nurture him back to health, but the guilt still weighs heavily on me. I guess for you it must be worse." He hung his head, "Wits thinks it's a magical illness, that it's not your fault."

Cherry Blossom turned around and gave Den an upset look. "It's all my fault Den! I killed all of those innocent ponies! And worst of all, I left all those newborn foals for dead in that hospital! I just couldn't help my actions..." she sobbed and tears started dripping off of her face.

He nodded, tapping his chest, "I felt it. Before you started trying to block me out. Cherry, do you remember the first time it happend? Was it the demon-fight, or has this happend before. It's important," he added, taking out a notepad. In it, he had described as best he could what was happening to Cherry.

Cherry Blossom stared at the wall and let out a sigh. "It has only happened during the demon fight, but this is all really new to me," she answered as she tried to wipe the tears off of her face, but she failed to since she continued to cry. Cherry Blossom was starting to feel depressed.

Jack had enough of waiting. He walked to the couch that he apparently owned and ripped one of the cushions out from underneath Nightfall as he slept. "Rise and shine, slacker! I gave you one more hour of rest than I had planned. So don't say I never give you anything."

He nodded, wishing he could be inside the bars. Sapphire reluctantly picked up on this wish and teleported him in, where he held her. She kept a careful eye on him, just in case. "Cherry, we can help you. Or try to," he murmurs, "What was special about the demon-fight, do you remember?"

Nightfall jolted awoke.

"All right, fine. You're always so grumpy. Sapphire is right, you need to cheer up."

He got up. He was sore, and stiff, but the main pain was gone thanks to Maven's songs.

"So, ok, I'm awake. What do you have planned? Or will you kick me out saying I need to train?"

"What do you mean by special? I did turn into some kind of monster that I am right now, right?" Cherry Blossom answered as she went back to sobbing. She then started hitting her head against the concrete wall, but slowly and not so harmfully. Her mind was starting to wonder why she had done all of those things.

Maven cringed, "Come on, a little bit of sympathy? Perhaps a tad of empathy? Your 'student,' as you call him, just had a battle with one of his toughest foes yet. Plus, it's kinda his day off," she blushed, because that was kind of the reason she was here; to see if Nightfall was up for a date.

 

He sighed and stood so that they where almost touching, "Did you feel weirdly, notice something awkward, before or during your change?" He asks, carefully leaning into her supportively. He still felt like a <curseword> for choking her out. He hoped she would forgive him.

"Nightfall doesn't get a day off if a demon as weak as Rando can do this much damage to him. It turns out that your boyfriend is far more behind than I thought he was." Cherry Blossom leaned away from and continued to answer his questions. "I started to feel angry and my whole body started to feel sore, but so full of energy during the change. It was so sudden, but I somehow quickly got used to it. I could also see a read light, showing where everypony's heart was."
