He turned to Maven. He felt like Jack had ignored her. He walked up to her and hugged her.

"Hey.. You ok..? I don't want you to be sad... And I'll let you come with me if you promise you'll do what I say when I say it."

He didn't tell her that would include running if he was going to die. Running to save herself..

"How long does it last? And what happens when we win?" Wits asked. He moved himself into a battle pose and popped his collar slightly, making him look much more impressive. If he couldn't actively hurt him, a little psychological warfare never hurt anypony.

He looked around the cabin and found some robe. He made a strap out of it, and put the sword in the strap. He then looked back at Maven.

"Well, then? If you come..."

He trailed off and smiled, and inwardly kicked himself when he did.

"Great. She may now think you're not focusing..."

Karasu glanced back at Wits. The look in his eye repeated the message that he had repeated for so long, I'll kill them all. "It lasts as long as your sins are in control of you. "I've heard that before," Wits said. "But I'm still here, aren't?" With that, he turned away and started to head back to the police station, beckoning Magneus to follow.

 

As he walked, he raised Nightfall on the radio. "Look, I know you're busy or something," he said. "But Manehattan needs you. We're running out of time. Something big is happening. If we can't solidify the police force now, we might never regain the city."

 

 

((Going quick-canon right here. They've managed to set up a rudimentary police force, but its still unstable. Any significant attack could bring it to its knees, which is why the vigilantes and powerful police officers are taking care of major threats. Meanwhile, the smaller officers are being brought back, new blood is being hired (with pretty large pay grades) and the infrastructure is slowly being brought back.))

Karasu watched Wit's walk away. He considered showing Wits why he was going to lose, but something stopped him.

We'll kill them all eventually. Why not kill this one now?

 

That's not how the game works. We should enjoy the site of his body while it is still intact. He does have fine legs, doesn't he?

Wits suddenly received a call on the radio and started run back to the police station, hoping that Nightfall would recieve his in turn. They needed that guy back as soon as possible.

 

At the station, he burst into the cell area and looked to see what was going on.

Magneus laughed and sighed lightly, "You know, coughing up rune tar wasn't what I expected, unless that's just regular tar... no no, pretty sure that's rune tar. In that case... well I don't know, I'm not a witch doctor or anything..." he said and sat down next to Cherry Blossom, still in ethereal wolf form. "Wait a second... your what I was smelling earlier! Raw power, Fear, Anger, Confusion... makes sense, not much of a help though"

He started walking off to the city, looking already at a building in which he could make his "homebase."

He looked from Maven back to the other pony.

"Well, it looks like I'll have to talk to him. Good day."

He started walking off again.

Maven sighed, hanging her head, This close. It's like I'm a rook, and some chess player can't decide what the heck he's doing, so he's making my King dances circles around me. She kicks a rock lightly, watching it roll into the street, and followed Nightfall.

Karasu walked behind Maven at an uncomfortably close distance. "You needn't worry," He said, "He loves you well enough." He studied Maven for a moment then said, "I see why. Your hair looks so soft, and it goes well with your eyes. It's sad to know that you're taken."

Maven turned so red you could see it in the dark, "What are you, a stalker?" She leaned into Nightfall and watched the pony carefully, feeling extremely uncomfortable. She was thankful for her mask, and the familiar weight of her flute in her pocket, as well as her bow-sword.

"You're entering what is called the 'danger zone,' buddy. I'd advise you to back off be for something happens."

He kept walking, letting Maven get as close as she liked.

"Even if this guy wasn't here, I'd be fine with her doing this..."

One who is truly mislead into believing this city is worth saving. What say you, vulture or fool?"

Nightfall spun around quickly, a fire in his eyes and ready to reach for his sword if necessary.

"Listen here. I don't want your help, nor do I need it. As far as I know, you are just another demon. Guess what? I am a demon slayer. And that's why we are neither fools nor vultures; we are something you've never dreamed off... We intend to correct the state of the city and bring back it's glamour for the ponies' benefit. So if you have objections, I say you best run for your worthless little demon life."

"What... the Hell are you talking about? Demons? Like in bedtime stories?" Karasu asked.

And I thought we were the crazy ones.

 

Great. We finally get to see these players and they aren't even 'yeah' in the head. This whole plan is a bunch of bullshit!
