She rolled her eyes. His sudden courage annoyed her. She turned to the officer, grabbed his cheeks and kissed him passionately.

"This should,at least distract him long enough to get away... Unless he turns out to have more courage than I think... In which case this would just be awkward."

 

The guard was shocked for a second, but then pushed her away and started saying more loudly. "ANY RESISTANCE WILL BE MET FOR THE GOOD OF THE HERD UNDER THE GRACE OF CELESTIA AND LUNA..." He began to push her more quickly and a little more roughly.

Wits administered a magical anaesthetic and prepared himself for the nasty business ahead, rying to get Den out of the room at the same time."

She hung her head. She threw away her old plan, trying to think now. Just thinking...

Karasu jumped from the roof of the diner and approached the police headquarters, observing it more closely.

 

Doesn't look very professional. Looks like the justice department hit some hard times.

They don't know the eighth player. If I'm right, he should be around here. One of you can take over, I really don't care about this one. He's too old.

"Quite simply," Wits said so that Den couldn't hear. "I'm going to rip her heart out and replace it."

 

The ripping out would be fairly easy, the replacing would require the second hardest spell he knew and the most powerful healing spell in existence, the Light of the Goddess. He started to draw out a magic circle in the room, filled with stabilizing ad energizing sigils.

Sapphire came down to the basement, magically locking the door from the inside and teleporting Den outside. Then she saw the blue winged mare from earlier. She bounced up to her, "Hi! I'm Sapphire! The officer you shot at earlier! What's your name?" She extended a hoof to shake, smiling broadly.

 

Maven stepped inside, waiting for Nightfall, to wrapped in her own thoughts to look around. 'Am I a leach? A pox on other ponies? I didn't ask for this, stupid scientists! But I'm trying to help! Am I really a bad pony?' The uncertainty was splayed on her face.

Karasu's expression changed from a look of calm superiority to a look of violent rage. One other, more noticeable change occurred: His right front hoof became something that resembled the barrel of a gun. He raised it above his head and fired three bursts of his own, red energy into the air. it was loud enough to gain the attention of the officers inside of the police station.

Wits began charging the magic circle, and chanting. In between lines of a very solemn sounding him, he said "Magneus," he said, directing his voice with its ethereal component at the wolf, enticing him into following the magically empowered orders. "Tear out her heart."

Karasu lowered his hoof gun. The cops weren't coming out for some reason.

 

Dumasses.

 

Maybe they're just scared.

 

He walked to the station's door and fired one round into the door. "Come out you little shits! We need to talk to one of you!" He yelled.

 

Well, you handled that delicately.

Cherry Blossom's heart was trying to rip its way through out of her chest. After a few minutes, her heart flew out, splattering the black liquid everywhere inside the cell. She became absolutely silent, her breathing was starting to slow, but she was still alive.

"Uh w-... eh uh... um... okay... uh... one... t-two..." and where three was supposed to come, he reached forward, not knowing what to expect. He grasped her heart with his claws and ripped it out, slowly so it wouldn't damage anything important. Once it was out he quickly threw it to the other side of the cell and used the wind to get all the rune tar off of it, the outside that was...

Den marched out with cold, calculated rage, "What the buck is YOUR problem?" He saw the gun and reached in his bag. He sighed as he realised he left his gun inside, instead arming himself with the tamer's whip. "Explain yourself, or come into police custody." He snapped the whip as his energy curled down the weapon.

Wits performed the spell, and tons and tons of energy poured out of him, into the circle, healing Cherry, her every wound sealing up, not even scars left in their place, old wounds reopened only to be healed better, aura snapped bac into place, psychological terrors repaired. A brand new pony all of the ills and worries undone. Wits collapsed, exhausted.

Officers behind Den pulled out guns and trained them on the pony, ready to fire should things become dicey.

Breathing was fully restored to Cherry Blossom and she began to recover very well. Her black coat started to drip off as if somepony sprayed house cleaning liquid on her. Her mane did the same and the inky substance began to drip off, but also her teeth reshaped itself to that of a normal equine. Then Cherry Blossom opened her eyes, revealing a pair of familiar blue eyes as stared at the ceiling. She was covered in the substance, but she would be able to wash it all off later.

"D-Den..."

"He's right outside, Cherry," Wits said. "But don't move. I want you on bedrest for two days." As he spoke he collected the tar infested heart and stored it in his coat. No need to put a perfectly good heart to waste. Plus, tar had unique effects, and shouldn't be wasted.

Sapphire bounced her way over to Cherry's cell, "Den's outside fighting bad ponies. Or a bad pony. They haven't actually started fighting. I think they've met," she giggled as she started picking up on his recognition and read a memory, "Oh yes, they've met."

 

He looked at the pony infront of him; it was the stallion he'd kissed earlier. Except his hoof was a gun and his diction was different. For Cherry Blossom... This building will stand for as long as she needs it. And as long as I need it.

"W-We have to go and help Den!" Cherry Blossom exclaimed as she tried to get up again, but her body was feeling numb and she was having a bit of a hard time trying to get off of the cell bed. "You guys will have to go and help Den! I'll be fine, but Den might need more help if he's fighting somepony."

"Sapphire, you make me smile," Wits said. "I wish I was that young. I used to be so happy, and I still am. Its just... I'm tired sometimes. And sometimes, when you're tired, the best thing you can do is admit that you can't do it every now and then."

 

He patted her on the back and entered the room. "If they can't take care of him, I will be right out there. But these days... I'm not a fighter. I'm a detective, and now, an administrator. I can't do this forever, and if I try, I'll only hurt people. I trust you all. But you have to trust me."

 

He closed the door and laid down on the bed, then pulled out the heart and looked at it intensely, examining the magical aura. "How can I use this...?" He was so tired right now...

Sapphire said, muffled by the door, "Do you want me to make you some brownies? Nighty always liked them with peanut butter. Den likes the choclate chip ones. I can make you something!" She shifted from hoof to hoof, waiting for an order. She sighed uncomfortably, All I do is wait wait wait. I spend so much time waiting, I can't bake!

 

(Sapphire is a part of Den. Den is dating Cherry. Sapphire was at one point dating Nightfall. Nightfall is now dating Maven. They are a tightnit circle.)

"I am very hungry," said Wits, still staring at the heart. "I would love some brownies."

 

He waited until she had left. Then, his mouth opened, and he put the heart in.

 

It tasted strangely good. And he could feel power... it was coursing through him... he felt stronger than he had in a long time. He passed out once more and magically infused his dreams.

((OOC: I hope you don't get a tummy ache ))Cherry Blossom was still there inside the jail cell, but something striked though her mind. "What the?!" she thought as she felt a very empty feeling in where her heart used to be, but when Wits End devoured her demonized heart, she had suddenly felt emotionless. Her face was left as almost the best poker face in all of Equestria. Her pupils enlargened as if she didn't care about anything, which she did.
