Speedy blushed. She looked around. Nothing in this branch was too interesting or threatening. She looked back at Sapphire, still blushing.

"I, um... Ok... I think I can do that..."

She trotted up to Sapphire, her cheeks red. She stood there for a moment before kissing Sapphire's cheek lightly and trotting off, now a deeper shade of red.

Sapphires eyes shot wide open and she litterally squeeked. She bounced after her, with her eyes closed, grinning so wide her teeth showed. She also chose that moment to stop talking, trying to memorize what just happend.

 

Den checked into the police station, "Hey, Wits, I interupting something?"

Wits nodded. "Just trying to get some dirt on Karasu. We know his plan is coming, but I need details. He said he's striking at us using our flaws. I'm going to presume that would be Pride, Envy, Sloth, Avarice, Lust, Wrath, and Gluttony. Now, the players. Can somebody list them? I'm still iffy on the specifics of it. Also, where in the hay is Nightfall? Has he gone ALREADY?"

 

The Hoof of Justice slammed into the ground.

It left a small crater where he was and he moaned softly. "Ergh..." he said. "I guess I didn't understand the gravity of the situation." He collapsed once more before he got up and started to walk away. He saw two police officers but figured he'd best not bother them. Back in the older days, they had used respect, tolerance, and non-interference, generally. He could fix this on his own. Maybe find another vigilante to help.

I think we can handle ourselves. He can have an army, we have a Speedy." Wits began sketching out battle plans. "What we need to do isolate each aspects and obliterate on a team basis. As we do so, the power of each other should very quickly deterioriate and allow us to take even two or three at the same time."

Maven stirred from a back corner, where Nightfall had left her, "I hope you're talking about me when you said the pegasus Wits. I've seen how you looked out the door after Speedy," she grinned slyly.

 

Den face-hooved, "Oh ya, hey guys, this is Patches, my adopted son. One of 9, actually. Cherry- Cherry wanted foals; she felt like she was responsible for them after the, erm, hospital insident."

Patches stood up. "What are you even talking about? If you're building a team... I want to help. I know I can help. The doctor made me stronger. I can fight! Just ask Den."

 

The unicorn thought for a moment. "Wits, what did Karasu say about the eight? Is it possible that he's the one we're missing?

"It's been a while since I had to deal with... hormones...." said Wits. "It can be difficult to control."

 

He looked at Patches and flash him a smile. Then he glared at Den. "A child? Here? When we've been attacked no less than 4 times? Dear Celestia, he's been marked, hasn't he?" Wits whispered so only Den could hear him. "I know you want him to be safe, but this isn't the place. Get him upstairs, at the very least."

Den cringed, "Patches, I've gotten you in enough trouble already. Now, I literally have about this much control over you're life, practicaly," his hooves were about an inch apart, "But I would feel much. much better if you weren't in danger. I'm not used to having this much family, and to me, you're practically blood, buddy."

Cherry Blossom was sitting on a bench in front of the Manehattan shopping mall. She was waitng for Den and Patches while she picked some twigs, dirt and pebbles off of herself. "Den surely knows how to keep a girl waiting. At least I didn't get hurt too bad from that crash." she thought as she let out a sigh.

The Hoof of Justice, still badly bruised, had just changed out of his Superhero garb and was now the relatively normal Mighty Force. He saw Cherry sitting on the bench, looking very forlorn. His fatherly instincts kicked in and he went and sat down next to her.

 

"Hey," he said. "Why the long...longer.... face?"

 

Patches sighed and began to walk upstairs.

 

"You never answered my question." The unicorn stated to Wits. "What did Karasu say about the eight? He would have given you a clue. (Something like, "All eight were in some way involved in closing the portal, and all but one of them was involved in fighting Rando")"

 

"He said that all eight were involved in closing the portal, and all but one fought Rando. C'mon, that was on the memo guys! Don't you guys read those things?" Wits seemed exasperated, but digressed quickly to avoid and unnecessary conflict.

Windward walk down a street to a small park. he sat down on one of the benches and stared at the ground. That went well. Oh, haha your sooo funny. So what do we do now ? You tell me. We need to find as much information on the elemental stones... the manehattan library. Good idea. They thought. Windward stood up and tiredly flew towards downtown Manehattan.

Cherry Blossom turned and saw an aged stallion next to her, "Oh nothing, I crashed into the ground and I'm waiting for my coltfriend and our child to meet me here." she looked back at the ground, whilst birds were chirping and merrily picking crumbs off the ground.

"If it's all the same to you, I'm keeping my girl waiting. Au revior. Comeon Patches, their speaking crazy again," his look silenced rebutalls as he exited with Patches, trotting off towards the mall. We are NOT getting Patches involved in this; he doesn't deserve it.

Mighty was old-fashioned but he ignored "coltfriend and child" and gave her a smile. "You look pretty bruised," he said, ignoring the severe damage that he had himself. "Are you quite all right? I'm not much a hand at healing myself, being a not-unicorn, but I could always help regardless."

"I do not want the child involved. I draw the line there. Not only is it morally wrong, he's going to be a liability due to inexperience and lack of discipline. I want you to find a safe place for him and keep him there, along with the rest of your children. We do not need them used against us at a critical juncture," sternly remarked Wits.

 

"As for the eight," he said to the unicorn. "I believe it to be me, Nightfall, Cherry Blossom, Den, Sapphire, this Patches child, and Jack, to my knowledge." He wasn't quite sure, but those seemed the most likely in the long run. He needed to speak to that Jack fellow... best to get him on the side of the police more fully, if possible.

"Well, Patches, certain members of the police force recently got a message from a pony, who has a personality disorder. Or atleast, that's what I think. Anyway, this pony said that we had become part of some sort of game; it's life-threatening. I really don't want you involved, understand?" He continued walking.

"Oh I'm fine, just a little bit shaken around is all. I can probably put around a few bandages, but other than that, I'll be alright." Cherry Blossom noticed some of the bruises on him as well. "What happened to you? You look like you were in some sort of fight," she added.

"I... uh... found my flying abilities to be in need of sore improvement," the Might Hoof smiled to disarm any alarm. "I'll be alright. I've seen worse. The lumber industry, y'know? Lots of accidents and danger. You seem well taken care of. I think I'll depart. Be safe!" With that, he quickly started to walk away. Identities needed to be kept, clever ponies needed to be avoided, and this one was far too smart to deal with.

"Bye!" Cherry Blossom raised an eyebrow, that stallion wasn't any average ordinary senior citizen. "What does flying have to do with lumber? Unless you're hauling it around, I'm not sure what it's for... Strange, but I guess I'll have to live with it..." she thought as she continued to wait.

Den looked around, making sure Patches was following, and saw Cherry. He trotted over smiling, "Sorry, had to check in at the police station; make sure they knew we were still alive and such." He stretched, and felt his back pop in about five places, "Shall we?"
