Alicorns

Wheres does every brony think the Alicorns came from? Which do you prefer Alicorns, or winged unicorns? Where do Princess Cadence and Prince Blueblood come from? Why isn't Blueblood an Alicorn? Did they create the planet or just were born????

My personal fav theory is that when discord rule equestria, the 3 types of ponies (earth, pegasus and unicorn) where desperate.

 

They needed a way to vanquish discord before he ruined there lands beyond repair. A last ditch attempt was made, where the 3 races decided to try and "fuse" the best parts of each pony into 1.

 

They succeeded and created a new race known as Alicorns. The alicorn's where created to protect and rule over the lands of equestria for all eternity, making sure the tyranny of discord never returns.

I guess there's always a start of something, Princess Celestia is like 1000 years old so I guess she's sort of a god in Equestria, alicorns are winged unicorns so that's not even a question xD Blueblood's parents are probably Earth ponies or unicorns, and I'm guessing they did create the planet, or if you're an atheist, 2 massive meteorites collided and made the planet >.<

well here is what i think

 

there is actually a Olympus like Kingdom comprised only of Alicorns whick was more advanced, and they just observed the world.

when Celestia saw what Discord was doing she agreed to leave and help and Luna followed, however they were not allowed to return.

i also think that the elements of harmony are just artifacts from the Alicorn kingdom.

 

as for Candence and Blueblood, well Celestia could have other brother or sister Alicorns that left as well with there SSP (special some pony) and created the crystal kingdom and Candence would be there offspring.

 

BlueBlood however i don't rely think of him as a relative to Celestia unless that in the show, i do think that he is apart of the old royal unicorn bloodline tho.

Think of it like this.

 

In most religions, there is one god. How was that god created? No-one knows, the same is for the Alicorns. Considering they're godly creatures, I would think a similar theory would fit them. And keeping on the lines of that theory, they probably did create the world.

 

Also, the real name for winged unicorns is Pegacorn (according to Wikipedia), but I can't really decide which one I prefer. Probably Alicorns, because they're technically gods.

 

Blueblood was actually a duke, according to Lauren Faust, but they changed it to Prince, because they thought the target demograph wouldn't understand what a Duke was. As for Cadence, well, I would imagine it's something similar.

I think after the three tribes came together (This is a time during Discords reign) Discord became angry at the fact that friendship was established. The three tribes, desperate to save their land, went on a quest to find some powerful ponies that could defeat Discord. During their travel they found a tribe of alicorns. They asked their leader if they would help them defeat Discord. They accepted and thus they defeated Discord and the alicorns and the three tribes became good friends. Some prefer their own home, but 3 moved to Canterlot, enjoying that city more. Anyway that's my theory.

And I just kinda think that being an Alicorn is like having a form of royal blood in a way. Meaning if theres a pony thats an Alicorn that means they're destin to rule in some form i guess?

 

I can't be really sure but it seems like that would make sense. Or maybe its simply just when they have a unicorn and pegasi parent.

Evidence points me in the direction that Alicorns are not entirely genetic (you're either born one, or not) nor are they separate from the rest of the Pony genus/species. At one point, Lauren, while still the producer of the show stated that she intended for Princesses Celestia and Luna to be the embodiment of all three races of pony. She and the show's staff have also gone on record to say that each of the three pony races were magical in their own right. These two pieces of leave us with the idea that the balance of the three are somehow in harmony within what we know as an Alicorn. Which is fitting given the central theme of harmony and magic.

 

With that in consideration, let us look to the history of Equestria. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna have ruled Equestria for at least 1,000 years. Prior to that had been the reign of Discord. Prior to that still, Equestria was founded by the leaders of the three tribes. From what we can tell, no Alicorns existed between the founding of Equestria and the fall of Discord. Taking this into consideration...

 

It would make sense that Celestia and Luna somehow managed to achieve an Alicorn state in the process or as a result of defeating Discord. Some inherent magic, code, gene or some sort of trigger brought the inherent "magic" of the three pony races into harmony within the two of them and triggered this change.

 

I say this because let us take Princess Cadence. While she is an Alicorn, her mane remains tangible. Corporeal. Solid. Same as Princess Luna when she was freed from the darkness that was Nightmare Moon. Once again, Word of God has stated that she looked as such because her powers didn't come back to her yet. But! Luna's mane did return to its original intangible form once she regained her powers, and the combined magic of Cadence and her husband brought her own mane into an intangible state through the power flux only to return to normal, which helps prove that one can bridge the gap through power.

 

So we can reasonably assume that while Cadence is indeed an Alicorn, there is still a power gap between her and Luna, and another gap between Luna and Celestia. Such gaps imply that being an Alicorn is not an absolute state such as "godhood".

 

This all leads to interesting thoughts as to how the three kinds of ponies are interconnected and why Princess Celestia shares such a bond with her subjects.

The Alicorns came from a place long long ago, in a galaxy far far away called Earth. You see after the nuclear apocalypse that wiped out humanity, over centuries, mutated horses began emerging from the surface. These horses had horned heads as a result of the mutation.

 

As time passed, the horses were unable to compete with Earth's other mutated beasts, so to adapt, they evolved and grew wings. With these wings they soon became the top of Earth's food chain. Thousands of years had passed, and the horses began to develop an intelligence. Just as there predecessors, humans, they took to colonization of the Earth and roved about in tribes.

 

Then one day, a nomadic tribe stumbled upon an ancient ruin. Out of curiosity, they explored the structure, but could not make sense of it. Not understanding their findings, the proclaimed the ruin to be that of the Gods that created them. Soon word of the Gods' "holy place" spread all through the land. The tribe which discovered the shrine proclaimed themselves to be the chosen prophets of the Gods, and established a settlement surrounding the ruins.

 

Jealousy grew among the other nomads; causing a pact to be formed among tribes. This new alliance vowed to conquer the guardians of the coveted holy land. Years passed as both nations prepared for war.

 

Meanwhile, a third kingdom, unbeknownst to the others, was watching in anticipation of the coming war. While the other kingdoms had been bickering over who owned the shrine, the third kingdom, which had settled over the remnants of an ancient human city, possessed a wide array of knowledge about the fallen civilization. They also knew that the lands being fought over, contained a "solution to the survival of the human race", which had unfortunately not been put in to use, as the great human war broke out sooner than anticipated.

 

Then, it began. The two corrupt kingdoms clashed over the walls surrounding the ruins. Days passed, and in the raging fires and bloodshed lay the greatly weakened kingdoms. Then, from what seemed like nowhere, battalions of the third kingdom appeared, plowing their way through the vulnerable armies, and into the war-torn holy city. The third kingdoms scholars, protected by legions of guards, began the activation of a device held within the ruins. But as they activated the device which they hoped would be their salvation, the first two kingdoms became aware of the situation, and agreed to temporary peace to crush the foreign invaders.

 

A great battle broke out in the surrounding city as the unified kingdom met with their adversaries. The scholars worked desperately to complete the activation, but soon their hopes became bleak as the battle drew closer and closer to the ruins. The third kingdom's last remaining soldiers, who guarded the scholars, were thrust into battle in a last ditch effort to complete their mission.

 

Then, a large flash appeared around the ruin, as the device became active. A glowing swirl of energy appeared, and a voice spoke from the device in a language that was universal to all:

 

Transportation shuttle activated. Please send forth two test subjects.

Maybe Discord made Alicorns just to piss people off? First off they are way more physically enabled than everyone else and that makes people feel bad about themselves. Seems like a legit way to create chaos if I do say so myself
