Which of the Mane 6 do you think has the least/most backstory?

I was wondering what everyones opinions on the Mane 6 and their backstorys? I know everyponys going to have their own opinions so don't hate on anypony if they say your favorite pony has the least backstory. Infact that means maybe they will get more backstory in the next season(They proably all will in some form )

 

So whats everyponys opinions on this?

 

Edit: It appears twilight is winning by a long stretch for most backstory.( I Kinda expected that tho since its a pretty large difference between her and most of the other mane 6.) and fluttershy is winning for least backstory by a little bit.

Well, we know nothing about rainbow dash pre-flight camp and the flight camp stuff was right when she got her cutie mark. Fluttershy is another one where we do not know about her parents or anything pre-flight camp. They are tied as having the least backstory.

Applejack needs more. We also don't know if Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy have relatives. I like to think that Rainbow Dash is an only child, but that's just my headcanon.

Least: Fluttershy, next to nothing has been said about her past, besides that she was teased in flight school and she quite literally dropped out of it.

Most: Twilight Sparkle, she's definitely the show's most developed character by far, which makes sense since she's usually the main one.

True she doesn't have a whole lot of backstory. But we do know about her family where as we don't really know anything about fluttershy or rainbow dashes family.

 

I also am not sure if pinkie pies story is 100% true, but thats alot of speculation on that one

 

And I think that twilight is pretty high up on backstory. Infact I think she basicly wins on that one pretty easy in my opinion. But maybe others have different opinions.

Yeah I'd agree it seems like Rainbow Dash is an only child. And i'd love to see more backstory about fluttershy. aswell as Rainbow Dash of course.

I can also agree that Applejack needs more, but again I don't believe she has the least out of the mane 6. We don't know a whole lot about her but we atleast know a little bit about her family(which is quite large.)

Very true, I can agree that as a whole the mane 6 could use alot of backstory. However its still possible to see that some have more then others, even if they don't have a ton out of any of them really.

I think twilight has the most tho and we do know that before she went to ponyville she was studying magic as Princess Celestia's pupil. And also that she didn't care for friendships really. As for the others I can't name a whole lot of backstory for them.

 

I agree tho they all need some form of backstory. But this is more of a who needs it most kinda thing and who needs it least. I hope S3 has a good bit of backstory involved in it. Althought I'm not sure if they really have to do a whole lot of backstory for twilight. Shes already got a pretty good lead above the others backstory wise in my opinion.

For the least I'm tied with Applejack, Rarity, and Fluttershy. We don't know who Applejack's parents are and where they are. We don't know much about Rarity either. Really what we know about her is that she made dresses for some play and that she dreamed of living in Canterlot. Fluttershy, too, needs her backstory to be cleared up a bit. We do know that she went to flight camp but then dropped out of it since she came down to the ground. They're past is pretty much vacant.

 

For the most it's Twilight. The story explains her past and even shows her parents, how she got into the school, how she got Spike (sort of), etc. I'm guessing it's because she's the main character and usually main characters have a more clear backstory than most.

To me it came between Fluttershy and Rarity... Though I think I'm leaning a bit towards Fluttershy. I think that I would like to know what her life was like before she left Cloudsdale, and who her parents are, and what happened to them after the fall.

In my fanfic when Silvadel added some energy to Dash and her mane flickered like an alicorns the first thing RD did was run off to Celestia and ask her if she was her mother. Yes that makes Silvadel even more on Celestia's bad pony list.

I agree. And I know its a bit off topic but Scootaloo seriously has nothing going for her backstory wise. I'm really curious as to who her family is.

Its a interesting theory... However I believe that maybe the fact that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershys storys took place during Rainbow's race and they never actually went to their homes might have something to do with why neither of their parents where revealed.

It's close between Applejack and Fluttershy, but I went with Applejack. In season 3, I hope we get to know more about Applejack's history as well as her life as a filly in general. This applies to the rest of the Main 6 in general, as Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash could also have more explanation about their childhood days. For example, we basically know nothing about RD's family, or her childhood as a filly except for the fact she was the reason that the others got their cutie mark.

 

Obviously Twilight has the most back story, considering she is the main character of the show and that Twilight's back story always seems to get buffered by new episodes every now and then.

I agree, I've always wondered why pinkie pie lives with the cakes, and I didn't even know when I first watched the show that she did live with them. So its obvious it needs some explanation.

Well, I initally voted differently, but after thinking even more, I have different thoughts on the matter.

 

Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy have the least background story. We know that RBD pulled off a Sonic Rainboom in a race defending Fluttershy when they were young, and that she loves the Wonderbolts. That's really it. Where are her parents? Did she ever actually graduate from flight school (I ask this because in the episode where Rarity has the gossamer wings, one of RBD's old rival/enemies taunts her in a way that suggests she dropped out or was kicked out)? Does she have any other family?

 

We know Fluttershy was bullied as a filly, fell to the ground from Cloudsdale, was rescued by butterflies, and it looks like she never went back after that. So what did her family think? Did she have a family? I'm assuming she never passed her flight test, so what does that exactly mean?

Applejack and Twilight both have quite a bit of background story. We got to see rather in-depth how Applejack's childhood was in the episode where she explains how she got her cutie mark. She wanted to go to the city, she did, she figured out she didn't like it, went home, and did her best for her family from there on out. Simple.

 

And I don't even have to explain Twilight's.

Yeah, I’d say Twilight has the most backstory but that is to be expected because the show is kind of through her eyes. Even though everypony plays an important role and they do have their own episodes she is the mane pony. I agree with everpony else here about RD having next to no back story, if I could speculate her early life wasn’t too exciting. She’s always excelled. She mentioned she was the first one in her class to earn her cutie mark and she is the only pony to accomplish the Sonic Rainboom, so if I were to guess her backstory isn’t really worth telling. I’d like to see more of Pinkie personally.

Twilight Sparkle definitely has the most backstory in my opinion. She's the basically the main character of the show, so it'd make sense that we know so much about her. We've seen multiple instances of her past (Twilight/Shining Armor relationship, Cadence relationship, Celestia relationship).

 

Fluttershy, however, would be the least background-developed character though. We know that she wasn't a good flyer when she was a filly, but beyond that, that's about it.

We know absolutely nothing about her parents, ergo same goes with Bic Mac and Apple Bloom. Collectively, it's a huge gap in the character's backgrounds.

A good point. I've had the feeling that applejacks parents are dead. It just seems to me like thats how it appears to me.

Then again I suppose the same could be said about fluttershy and Rainbow Dash's parents since they've never shown up. But It seems like applejacks parents might even be dead.

Well you never know, Shining Armor came out of nowhere for Twilight, so, though it would be obnoxious, Hasbro could easily pull out Dash, Fluttershy or Applejack's parents in Season 3.

I really hope S3 includes alot of backstory, except maybe for twilight. I'm sure it'll be thrown in there but she certainly isn't dieing from lack of backstory.
