What does Fluttershy do for a living?

Fluttershy probably just takes care of all of the animals, including the peaceful animals in the Everfree Forest.

I assume she runs a sort of pet business.  When Rainbow Dash was looking for a pet, Fluttershy had many animals that she was looking for homes for.  And I'm sure she petsits or runs a kennel of some sort, as she's taken care of Celestia's pet before.

Nature works differently in Equestria than it does here. The ponies have to make nature happen. So I imagine Fluttershy does a bunch of things for the animals that they could do for themselves in real life, but for some reason can't do in Equestria. Remember in Winter Wrap Up how they had to make nests for the birds? Fluttershy probably plants flowers specifically for the bees, builds the beaver's dams for them, and puts ladders in the river in spring to help the fish swim upstream.

 

I hope this isn't true.  It would make the wild animals pretty unintelligent.  And how did they survive before ponykind came along?

 

I always assumed that they made nests for the birds in Winter Wrap Up as a kind gesture rather than out of necessity.  We've seen beavers build their own dams.

 

Though you do make a point that some things that happen naturally in our world are caused by external influence in Equestria.  The rising of the sun and the moon are perfect examples.

she is a caretaker, i think of her like the animal ambassador of ponyville..i don't think she runs a pet store she doesn't think of animals as pets, but she probably asked the animals if she wanted to be rainbow dash's friend/pet in the episode and i think off screen they said yes.

but no seriously other then that probably Fluttershy's sell egg ,take care of animal/vet, sell pet,she is a biology teacher in twilight school

I think just like how Rainbow Dash manages the weather of Ponyville, Fluttershy does the same thing to the animals.
