Okay, for some reason I forgot how much I like the Old West and cowboys and all that, but after playing a bit of Fallout: New Vegas, I just remembered again. So I decided, why not watch some Westerns. The only problem is, I don't have enough, and I WANT MOAR!!! If you guys could do me a favor and recommend some to me that would be great. Who knows, someone else that wants to watch some Westerns would be grateful for your input too.

So far here's my list, it's not very big...

The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly (just finished that today)

A fistful of dollars/the man with no name trilogy

3:10 to Yuma (Having doubts with this one, didn't get very good reviews)

The Magnificent Seven

You know what to hell with this let's just make it a general discussion about Westerns in general.

Most of my western experience is Clint Eastwood, but I recommend Two Mules for Sister Sarah and Unforgiven.

You really can't go wrong with Clint Eastwood or John Wayne when it comes to westerns.

Yep, there's a saying that goes...

Kids checks under their beds for monsters

Monsters checks under their beds for Chuck Norris

Chuck Norris checks under his bed for Clint Eastwood

And Clint Eastwood doesn't check under his bed.. he doesn't have one.

That's because he never closes his eyes, not even blink.

I don't know how original this is, because I just found it on the internet, but it's damn cool. Clint Eastwood would kick Chuck Norris's ass any day.

Personally I prefer spaghetti westerns, since their just more grittier than the broader western genre. In that, here are my two favorite westerns.

El Topo, it really seems that the director was on an acid trip when he was directing this one. Might just be one of the most surreal films I've actually seen, ever.

Django, the epitome of the spaghetti western. Doesn't get much better than this and that's saying a lot.

No one has sad Unforgiven yet. Probably the greatest western of all-time and here's the twist....it's directed by and starring Clint Eastwood. Such an amazing moving. Also has Morgan Freeman and Gene Hackman.

EDIT: Whoops, someone did. Good for them!

Ha, I was about to recommend High Plains Drifter myself!

I'd highly recommend Sam Peckinpah's "The Wild Bunch". It's one of my all-time favorite movies, and it's got two of the best shootout sequences you'll ever see on film.

I know, Clint Eastwood is the best, it's sad though to see him in his current state, arguing with chairs and the such. But we must remember him as he was in the 60's!

Sukiyaki Western Django is basically the Japanese take on the genre. Well, it's not really that memorable of a movie but it has it's moments.
