Fallout: Equestria - Project Horizons

I wasn't entirely sure where to put this, so if its in the wrong place, please move it.

 

Anyways, I recently finished reading Fallout: Equestria. I loved it. It's easily my favorite fanfic. Now I don't know what to read. I started looking for a sequel and found project horizons (I know it isn't a sequel) I'm not sure if I should read it though. I don't want the original FoE to be spoiled. This probably sounds weird, but the reason I'm asking this is because when I read my little dashie, the sequel was just stupid in my opinion. So my question is, do you think I should read it? Thanks

I don't know, I haven't read it myself, but I hear it's more than twice as long as FoE, so it would probably be a signifigant timesink. After reading FoE myself, I don't know if I would be able to immerse myself in an even longer story, but if you want to, I say go for it, I hear it's great.

I've read it myself and it's a good read when you have plenty of time on your hands. Besides I've been itching to find someone to rp with in fallout equestria.

I read the original Fallout Equestria first, then read Project Horizons. I like Horizons just as much, and sometimes even better than the original. Trust me, if you like FoE, you will love Horizons. I'd say give it a try if you can find the time.

Read Fallout Equestria and loved it. Project Horizons all depends on your literary tastes.

 

If you just want pony/Fallout-y goodness, then it is spectacular. If you want a deep story with great character development and all that jazz, you'll find that too for the first couple dozens of chapters. Then a lot of themes are repeated and it grows stale.

 

Still, worth a read if you have the time.

I've read all of Fallout: Equestria in a week, but I phased off of reading Project Horizons at chapter 2 because I was kind of tired of reading.

 

One notable difference I hear though is that the gore and vulgarity in PH is a lot higher than the original, so be wary of it. I'm probably going to continue soon myself. Also, it's not complete, it's only half-way done, and it's twice as long as Fallout Equestria already, so manage your time appropriately.

So i was thinking about starting Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons. But is it worth it? I hear it's good, but is it worth the 1000 hours of listening to/ reading it? Does it live up to its predecessor? I may never know

Based on my experience...no, no it is not worth it at all. There's a good reason PH is infamous among Falllout Equestria fics.

 

I'll admit that when i first started reading it I was enjoying myself, but Project Horizons has long overstayed its welcome and should have ended over a million+ words ago. It is so long that when a "shocking reveal" occurred in regards to a character's identity, my only response was "Okay...who are you and how many books ago did you last show up?" I could go on about all the things wrong with it, including the fact that it is only the third time I have ever gotten to a point where I literally threw up my hands and said "That's it...I quit" in regards to something I was invested. You want my advice, I say steer clear of it. There are a lot better FO:E sidefics you could be reading.

It depends on what you are looking for.

 

Blackjack and friends are great characters but I feel that Somber tries to pull on the heartstrings a little too much and a little too often. Some scenes seem designed to be disturbing, rather than organic to the narrative.

 

And it's long... WAAAAY too long. Should have ended by now. Characters keep changing and some of them make reappearances. And I hope you like anime. Some scenes seem out of ludicrously exaggerated action animes.
