Hi!

 

I happened upon this thread when it first crossed the threshold of existence, yet my reply was delayed by situations not my own. I yearn simply to say that the way you put lines to canvas is the reason I enjoy art. It is far and few the times that style, design, and execution combine so readily in whimsical madness.

 

Finding yourself unsatisfied with praise alone, you have also captured my heart, sealing it far within the confines of your chamber lest it had hoped to roam once more. Forty Winks is adorable beyond that which I conceived possible, an actuality that is only elevated by such charming colors and mannerisms.

 

I must leave now before my sentiment betrays me.

I also have my own pony character named Forty Winks!

She is adorable, and I want to hug her and give her some warm milk, lol. Also, she reminds me of Squee. This is Squee.

 

 

He's the sort of protagonist of a lovely little johnen vasquez cartoon called Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, and I have the feeling that, if you and NeverPony haven't heard of it, you would both appreciate it

I am well acquainted with the works of Vasquez. Like ponywise, he played a critical role in my early inspiration.

 

That's quite an introduction... she's not exactly sure what to say!

 

This picture has punctured my being, suffocating my psyche in a welling of enchantment. Oh, how felicity flies! The divide between delight and delirium has all but been breached.

 

I am undone. The charm is too great; concrete and abstract take hands, and together they plunge the knife of complacency upon me.

Thank you my friend! And I hear you. Drawing involves a lot of masochism to get to the point where you can even start to like what you're doing... at least in my experience. There's like... an invisible trail of angst and excitement and fun and sleeplessness behind my stuff I'm sure :') I think art is a love/hate kind of thing for everyone... but hopefully more love.

 

And, with that post, you have inspired me to keep drawing, because sometimes it's like i'm the only one that hates their own artwork lol.
