Klopp 2,050 January 28, 2012 Share January 28, 2012 NSFW? i'm maybe be a day old but i have no clue what that means somepony please eexplain. and if its that bad why not have sercet Mods watch the chats. like people you wouldn't expect. like a noob did i just see the Famous Field0 WebMaster?!!?!? srry off topic =( NSFW Stands for "Not Safe Fore Work" So when someone says no NSFW, it means to keep anything out that would not normally be allowed in the workplace. It would probably be more appropriate to call it NSFC, short for "Not safe for children", because that's basically what it boils down to. Not to mention what some people might consider safe for work is different from what another might think. While it's pretty much unanimous what shouldn't be allowed for children. Anonymous~ 591 January 28, 2012 Share January 28, 2012 (edited) NSFW? i'm maybe be a day old but i have no clue what that means somepony please eexplain. NSFW Stands for "Not Safe Fore Work" So when someone says no NSFW, it means to keep anything out that would not normally be allowed in the workplace. In other words, NSFW can ONLY be viewed by people that are at legal age (AKA adults) and shouldn't be shared with children or teens that aren't 18+ years old. Or so I think. Edit: And besides, it is not ethical to share NSFW in public. Edited January 28, 2012 by Freckle shiet got srs guise

Riverleaf Breeze 47 February 2, 2012 Share February 2, 2012 @Zoop I actually did witness innappropiate content, the last time I was in the chatroom. Should I have said something or interveined at that point,or was I wise to stay out of it?

Should I have said something or interveined at that point,or was I wise to stay out of it? If you do happen to witness any inappropriate behaviour, and no moderators are present within the chat at the given time, the best course of action is to simply send in a report regarding the member in question (via their Profile) detailing the behaviour at issue, along with the approximate time it occurred. If possible, try not to intervine in the particular situation, as more often than not, such attempts can result in amplifying the problem, rather than extinguishing it. Tyger 213 February 7, 2012 Share February 7, 2012 (edited) Speaking from experience and quoting from the OP: "...there has been a great deal of unbecoming conduct in it." And it's redundant too. Call me hypocritical, but those who are in the chatroom and causing mishap are influencing new members who join the chatroom for the first time, bad or good. I know there are rules, but members will always stretch them no matter the levels of set-outs and if it continues, it'll basically become "a complete free-for-all." Now, I'm not naming or pointing out any members because as I said, I'm being a little hypocritical, but because this ongoing mishap is failing to bring about any positive change, we need to approach "a slightly more scorched earth strategy for dealing with it... "By simply turning the thing off; temporarily, at first, and permanently if that does not work." I think this strategy will impose a message and hopefully, set facts straight when following the rules. Killian Jones 2,655 February 7, 2012 Share February 7, 2012 although I don't like hearing about shutting things down, the rules could be enforced more strictly, for example misbehaving can get somepony suspended for at least a week. no backsies. Lady Rarity Pony 4,892 February 7, 2012 Share February 7, 2012 I wouldn't mind the chat being shut down for a bit. To be honest the chat at the moment seems to be doing more bad than good. I likewise will not name people but some seem to be a bad influence on new members. There are a few members that need to be straightened out or banned from the chat altogether. They are disruptive, offensive and just overall immature. Not to mention that the chat room seems to always be filled with 1-2 word responses that only flood the chat. Tyger 213 February 7, 2012 Share February 7, 2012 Did something happen again? Edit: There's more swearing than normal, but is that all the problem is? No. The misconduct of having a mature social conversation between each other is failing to bring on about a good social pipeline..
Lady Rarity Pony 4,892 February 7, 2012 Share February 7, 2012 Did something happen again? Edit: There's more swearing than normal, but is that all the problem is? Swearing normally is not a problem but when there's a long chat log filled with "bitch" in every message, then it becomes disruptive LRP's opinions are subject to change without notice. Because swearing is permitted does not mean people should write "bitch" in everything they say.We might have some female dogs on this site and they may be offended ...but seriously... Yes it's the chat mods responsibility to stop misconduct (and I'm sure they do their best), but members who break the rules have to face the consequences of their actions. The people that are misbehaving and spreading idiocy in the chat are not at fault for misbehaving and spreading idiocy in the chat because the volunteer force of chat monitors and moderators - all of whom are either serving as full time students or workers - are to blame for their acts of misbehavior and their spreading of idiocy because we might not always be around to monitor and babysit the chat 24/7? I apologize if I am misinterpreting your post, but that seems to me to be what you're saying. If that is what you are saying, you may officially consider me annoyed. Reports. Submit them if no chat monitors are online. I can speak only for myself but the FIRST thing I do when I get home from work these days is deal with them. I apologize for my bluntness and the rushed nature of this post; I am currently on my lunch break, at work. Zoop, once again i've been misinterpreted by a higher pony. not that you are annoyed at me, let me clarify my post to get me intentions in the light. If i haven't made that clear i say- actually let me just quote my own post."i see what you mean" as in i don't disagree " but i can't honestly say its their fault" not tatally their fault because ponies ussually learn through example as i did because i've only looked at the rules about 2 days after my first post and i'm not too clear how many are different from me "because with 5+ members being promoted to chat mods you'd think they'd being doing their role" i'm actually pretty bias on this one so you can have it because its not always something they can do or if the chat's empty "so it falls to their feet before any one else's" bias again but i will stick to the point where it is their responsibility to a certain point. Once again i don't totally dissagree wth him but i thought i wouldn't have to say as many times as i apparently have to. sorry if i caused some missinterpretation.
