How do you remove BGM from a clip?

I have been trying to remove the BGM from clips of MLP but I can't seem to fully remove it. I mess with the EQs of the audio and can get the BGM to be faint but I have to have the volume of the clip low for the BGM not to be heard. Now my question is does anyone know how to fully remove the BGM?
