Among the 6, Whose Interactions Need the Most Development?

For the mane 6, some of their relationships are well developed. Hurricane Fluttershy shed a lot of light on how Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy interact. MMMystery on the Friendship Express and Feeling Pinkie Keen did the same for Twilight and Pinkie Pie, showcasing Twilight learning that while Pinkie may be random there is something of a method to her madness ( whatever it is).

 

So who's relationships are we most in the dark about and whose interactions would you most like an episode dedicated to?

 

For me

 

Rarity and Rainbow Dash

Being pretty much fundamentally opposed they haven't really gotten much time one on one (Other than in Sonic Rainboom), and I would like an episode flushing out their friendship a little bit. I have no idea how it would work, but perhaps they have to work together for some kind of performance Dash is putting on (with Rarity designing a uniform) or Dash is the only one who is available to model something Rarity made. Either way, I'd like to see them develop some more mutual respect, and this episode would most likely be hilarious.

 

 

Applejack and Pinkie Pie

The calm, collected hardworking straight mare vs. our favorite pink spaz from outer space. The contrast in their personalities alone makes me want to see this episode. Perhaps Pinkie needs to help Applejack relax on a day off or something? I'd watch it

 

 

Spike with all of them

 

I'd also like to see more Rainbow and Pinkie for reasons ENTIRELY unrelated to shipping (shifts eyes)

I'm calling it, Clarity is going to say AJ with anyone.

 

Well, really, I just want crazier episodes. Really, that's the only thing that honestly appeals to me, right now. So really, individual relationships aren't my thing. Honestly, I'd rather them do another Dragonshy, but a two parter, and just strengthen the bonds between all of them, essentially focusing one task of two characters each. Which will give us about 15 encounters, which will give them a lvl and a half's worth of experience, so they can finally get a utility power.

Applejack and Pinkie Pie's relationship seem to be more tense than anything. Party of One, The Last Roundup, and Too Many Pinkie Pies proves that. Usually they're pretty angry at each other and I haven't seen a single moment of which their interaction was successful and friendly.

 

AJ and Fluttershy, on the other hand, has been seen a minuscule amount in the show. I don't know a single moment when they interacted, except for TLR when Shy comforts AJ.

 

All piles up to Applejack getting bad screentime in the end anyway.

I'm with clarity on this, I don't really remember any Screentime between fluttershy and AJ like ever really.. much less an episode. Pinkie's is sorta different because they really don't get any episodes where they're not fighting or something. Makes it seem like they hate each other.

 

I have a feeling AJ is already planned to get alot more screentime this season though.

She's not my most liked, but I would like to see Rarity be in more dynamic situations, basically nothing involving dresses.

 

I kind of wanted to see like an extended cut if you will of The Last Roundup, depicting more of Pinkie's and Rarity's trip back. After Pinkie Pie eventually stopping the Chimicherry bit, did they talk about anything else? It was a long trip back home, so it gave them that time to have a one on one chat. Would love to hear one some time.

Rarity and Rainbow Dash have basically nothing in common, but they've been shown hanging out for short periods of time in episodes that had a different focus, like in Swarm of the Century and Read It and Weep. But since they don't focus much on it, we don't know why they hang out.

 

For Applejack and Fluttershy, I'd like to see an episode focusing on the fact that they both take care of animals.

 

I don't even know why Applejack and Pinkie Pie are friends, other than the fact that they're both part of the mane six. I'd like to see some interaction where Applejack isn't being annoyed by Pinkie Pie.

 

He's not part of the mane six, but Spike needs to hang out with ponies other than Twilight and Rarity. Since he was so excited about the time he thought they'd be spending together at the Grand Galloping Gala, I'm guessing he wanted an opportunity to get to know the others more, but he ended up sad and lonely at Pony Joe's.

I agree with Clarity. AJ needs more Pinkie/Fluttershy time.

 

I would also like to see Rarity and RD.

 

AJ and Rarity need more screen time overall anyways, and if not for the episode "Look Before You Sleep" I would say they should have an episode focusing on their relationship.

Yea, I can't really say we need more Dashie. There have been episodes where AJ or Rarity either is only seen once very briefly, or not at all. RD on the other hand has been in like every episode and has been shown interacting with everypony except Rarity really.

 

I doubt this is really ever going to change though because the writers seem to be stuck in their ways, and the lack of fans for AJ and Rarity doesn't really persuade them to do much with those two beyond the one or two shows they have had focus on them back when it was almost required because Twilight was having to write to Celestia.

Applejack and Fluttershy need more interactions as stated by those above. But Applejack needs more interactions with all the ponies, she doesn't even have her own episode like the rest of the Mane six.

I'll also add a request for Rainbow Dash and Twilight. Perhaps an archaeology episode? Twilight has to find some sort of ancient artifact and Dash tags along ( cause of Daring Do) and does all the cool stuff and saves Twilight's flank while Twilight figures out the 10000 year old riddles and traps. I think I read a fanfic like that once...

 

I'd watch it!

 

Also I second whoever voted for Applejack and Fluttershy. Haven't seen much of that since Dragonshy and a tad in Last Roundup. Don't have an episode idea ATM.

 

Oh! And Rarity and Pinkie Pie! No clue how this would work at all but if you toss the two funniest characters together then any episode would have to be amazing.

Difficult to answer really since there are some interactions that we definitely need to see brought into the light.

 

I would like to see a bit more interaction with Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. We get a small glimpse of this where RD and Fluttershy attended "Flight camp," with that being the end of it during the tale of how the mane6 got their Cutie Marks. Want to get a good bit of back story behind these two since they seem close friends.

 

Same would go for Apple Jack and Pinkie Pie. It still intrigues me what Apple Jack said during Pinkie Keen, "If Pinkie's a twitchin, you better listen." Might even be nice to see an episode that shows how Pinkie learned about her "Pinkie Senses" in conjunction with how she met Apple Jack, and why AJ developed the notion to listen to Pinkie when her ability goes off.

 

Wholeheartedly agree that we need some interaction with spike, and we might be lucky to get that.

 

 

Not to forget "Spike, At Your Service" is an episode coming down the pipe. Might be a good Day to Day operation of how things go for him. Could even get a glimpse of how his friend Pee-Wee is doing since he adopted him in a sense.

 

 

With them appearing so often, I still feel like the Princesses could use some of the spotlight. Maybe an episode with Twilight and Celestia as the studious unicorn encounters something from her past? Be nice to see some more "momlestia" as some call her.

Yeah I'd love to see more of Applejack with anypony really. She's the one pony that I know the least about and have seen the fewest interactions with.

 

A big one for me would be an episode where Applejack and Pinkie Pie take time to bond.

More screen time for Rarity too.

 

I mean Pinkie may be my favorite but I want to se all the characters develop a lot more and Applejack and Rarity are the least represented, Applejack more so.

But that is, in fact, the case. She's like, the second main protagonist. She has the second most screentime second only to Twilight. So, yeah~

This isn't actually about how much character development that they've had. Each of them has actually recieved quite a bit. This is more related to whose friendships do we know the least about and have we seen the least of? Rarity has had big development... Like art of dress and be comeing popular... And since I'm a rarity fan... I'd like to see her

Looking at them all, I wouldn't mind more Fluttershy or Applejack. We may be seeing more about AJ, though, with episode 9 of this season, Apple Family Reunion. I'm also down for anything that expands on Spike's character.

 

My bad, guess I need to read a little more thoroughly before answering. I wouldn't mind seeing more Applejack/Fluttershy interaction, or more Spike in general. Or Rarity/Fluttershy? Can't really think of much interaction between them, though with my memory that doesn't really mean much. The way some of the season has gone, I wouldn't be surprised (but I would be happy) to see some Luna/Twilight Sparkle interaction.

This topic isn't about which character needs the most screen time, improvements, or insight into their minds. It is about which two ponies from the mane 6 need to be seen interacting with each other the most.

 

Example: Applejack and Fluttershy need some bonding time since we have not seen them hanging out together much.

I also think Rarity and Twilight need more interacting. Perfectionist vs Perfectionist. They share quite a lot, but also have that classic form vs function conflict that AJ and Rarity share.
