Am I the only one who really wanted a new Cutie mark Crusader?

Seeing that last episode (as of now) I was really hopeful Babs would join the CMC's. While she did start a new branch. I wanted someone who's a Ponyvile CMC. What do you think? Would it mater if a boy joined the CMC's.

Actually Spoiler, but Bab's is a girl(Or filly if you want to call it that.) However I don't really know if I'd want anything added to the main cast as a whole right now, I feel its hard to fit everyone into episodes as of now. Luckily they are doing pretty good with that.

So I'm not to broken that he didn't. I don't really want to have 4 CMC in every CMC episode, i like how it is for now.

Nah, I would prefer there not to be a new Cutie Mark Crusader. Three is enough for me. I don't think it would matter if a boy joined the CMC, but considering the show's target audience, I'd assume that they'd be a little hesitant to put a boy in.

I am not for the CMC that much, so having a another whole episode on someone joining the CMC would be rather dull to me, but I could see some people wanted that.

You can't just introduce a new main character or secondary character at the drop of a hat, in one episode, in a third season. Well I suppose you could but it'd be really lame.

 

Babs starting her own branch works great. If they never use her again, then we'll have an idea for what she's doing. if she ever comes back, and the writers decide to try and make her a reoccurring CMC, the show has some material to work with, with her. Maybe she started her own branch like she said, but came back to Ponyville to be with her cousin and two friends.

 

As for a boy CMC, I don't know. A 3 to 1 girl boy dynamic would be difficult. Spike works because he's -usually- just with Twilight which is just one on one, but if a regular boy CMC occurred, that'd be a bit more tricky.

 

A non-regular boy CMC might be cool though for an episode.

I wouldn't mind the addition of more minor male characters, in fact I would love it, but I'm of the opinion that they shouldn't add/subtract from the Mane 6 or the CMC.

 

I liked Babs well enough, but I wouldn't mind not seeing her again for a while . She played her part and played it well but I'd rather they continue to develop the characters they already have.

I think Babs joining the Cutie Mark Crusaders was pretty cool, not really something I particularly wanted to see but it was nice nontheless, kind of saw it coming after learning she was a blank flank though. It'd be cool to see by the end of the series if/when the mane 3 crusaders get their cutie marks, they then learn Babs really worked to spread word of mouth of the CMC and we see young ponies everywhere having these little clubs and whatnot, and maybe even something bigger- that'd be really cool and give Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo a real sense of fulfilment and be a great end to their story in my opinion.

Babs will twist the Manehatten branch of The CMC (MCMC) into a dangerous radical blank-flank separatist group which after a series of civilian targeting attacks the original CMC will distance themselves to avoid association.

I don't think Ponyville needs a new CMC. I like the original three just fine, and don't think they need anypony else added to them. The nice thing about Babs is that she'll probably show up about as much as Zecora does, maybe a bit more or a bit less. So, we do have a new CMC, but she won't steal the spotlight away from the original three - which in my opinion was the best way to go as far as adding a new CMC is concerned.

Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo all compliment each other perfectly. Adding a new Crusader would upset that balance and at this point in the series s/he would look more like a third wheel. Have you noticed that among the CMC there is one earth pony, one pegasus, and one unicorn, all of whom don't know how to properly use their races' inherent abilities? It's a comedic and inspirational part of what binds them together. The only way you could possibly avoid destroying the harmony of the CMC through the addition of a new member would to be bringing in an alicorn, except a misfit alicorn would look tragic, and that would be even more problematic. Besides, we already have three alicorns all of whom are royalty, and adding more would serve only to dilute the majesty they're supposed to embody.
 
Babs' joining the CMC makes sense, and her going home to start a new therapy group chapter is in keeping with both the moral of the episode and the spirit of the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I wouldn't change a thing.
