The herd of zebras no longer surrounded him. His body was now painted head to hoof to disguise as a zebra. A tarp was placed over Somber's cutie mark and wings to hide them. Stripes were over his body and mane.

 

"Are you sure this going to work?", he asked the chief, who was grinning at the scene.

 

"Why of course. You being to us trespassers, and we give you a new home here. Plus, you help with our problems with food, and you keep this position. It's how you say, win-win. Now go! And don't forget the words."

 

Somber sighed and shook his head. "Right." He headed out if the camp and towards the beach, or trespasser patrol.

Rose looked up from where she lay in the sand, pleased to see more familiar faces. "They were on the ship with us," she told them, referring to the guards. "They're just as lost as we are." She glanced over at Airy, sadly. "He lost his wheelchair." 

 

She dove back into her box of first aid, that Stacy had found, looking for something that might help her useless leg.

"He should be fine..." Scamps said wearily. "He was in the water for a bit too long and is in shock. He fades in and out of conciousness. I have a first aid kit from the lifeboat," she said, laying it down on the ground. "But I have no idea to treat him."

 

((OOC: I'm roleplaying as if there are no guards, because there are none. Check OOC topic for more info. Basically, pretend they didn't show up))

Star was looking sadly out at the ocean. But then, She saw a dark shape being pushed up onto the island farther down the beach.

"I will be right back." She said to Rose, Standing up and trotting towards the object.

Once she got to where the thing had been pushed onto the beach she realized. "Its... Its Somber's Guitar ?" She thought, Leaning down and picking up her guitar case, And sure enough his guitar rattled around inside.

She trotted back to where Rose sat and sat down next to her. "Hey Rose... Scamps ?... SCAMPS." Star said, Running over to Scamps and giving her a hug.  "Look, Somber's guitar washed up onto the beach." She opened the guitar case and pulled out his guitar... which was soaking wet but still playable. "When it dry's I will be able to play it." She smiled, as even more tears poured down her cheeks.

Stacy quickly took action and got wveryponys attention. "Hey everypony listen!" Before she could continue one of the guest recognized her from the stage. "Hey your that one who asked out somepony right?"

She ignored him and continued. "If you go to the life rafts and break the floor boards there should be survival supplies undernieth. Grab them and start making a pile so we can see just how much we have." With that ponies went to the boats and did as she told. She went back to where Rose was and grabbed a can of carrots out of the bag and a can opener. She opened the can and ate.

Rose smiled sadly at the guitar Star was holding. "I'm amazed, not a single string broke." She pulled the Star Ruby out of her hair, and looked at it fondly, also crying. "This was Morningstar's, you know. He carved it himself. I don't think he even used magic to do it." Even with all the beating the Star Ruby had taken through her use and manipulation of it, it was still flawless. Her horn glowed, and the Ruby opened and closed its petals, giving it all the appearance of sentient life.

As Somber makes it to the beach, he could hear noise. He motions the group to where there's the group of ponies on the ship. And one of them... Was Star... He hated to do this, but...

 

"Halt! You strangers are trespassing on our land!", Somber had cried out. He jumps out if the bushes and approaches them with his group.

Moonbeam checked her bag. Her recorder was still there. Good. She might need it.

 

When her ship landed, she immediately jumped out, motioning quickly for Firecracker to follow. She ran over to her friends. "Guys, I have a little experience with caring for injuries. Who needs the most help?" She looked around. Star was off picking up a guitar so she seemed alright, but her wing was injured. Airy probably needed some help. Rose, though forced to deal with all of these problems herself, probably needed help as well. With that injury on her leg  taken care of, she could begin to really deal with the situation.

 

However, she was interrupted by a mysterious stranger from the bushes.

 

(OOC: Sorry I was gone, I had the last meeting for anime club, and it was the special Christmas party. And, wow, you guys are fast. I can't keep up with you.)

Scamps finished puttong her supplie sin the pile, and sighed as she looked at Airy. "You'll be okay. I promise." She said to him.

 

Suddenly, a zebra popped out from the bushes. Scamps turned around to face him. Something seemed oddly familar to her about him. 'That voice, the body....it looks so familiar...' she thought.

 

She then looked at the guitar Star was holding. And that's when Scamps got it. "SOMBER? What are you doing? You're...you're alive! But...why are you dressed like a zebra?"

Rose jumped, when a zebra jumped out of the jungle behind the group of survivors and shouted about their trespassing.  Rose probably could have taken him and the entire group of zebras behind him out with a single spell and the plants of the jungle they had just left, but didn't for three reasons. One, she was far too tired to cast such a major spell and even hope to remain conscious. Two, it was their land, and they were just defending it. She had no right to attack those defending their homes. Three, many of the survivors were badly injured, and really could use whatever help and food the Zebra Tribe might be willing to provide. So Rose just sat there, replacing the Star Rose in her hair, and gazing at the Zebra silently and intently. He seemed rather familiar... But she couldn't place him.

 

(OOC: Scamps, we aren't supposed to recognise him.)

Star jumped as somepony... Er Somezebra came out of the bushes. "SOM....ber..."

*He looks just like.* She stared at the zebra that had just trotted out of the forest, Then fell to the ground crying. *I CANT DO THIS.* She thought, looking back at Somber's guitar. *I cant do this without you Somber.*

*Wow... Just two seconds in, and I'm already known... Time for lying.*

 

"Somber? Who is this Somber? I am Oak Branch, part of the Jungle Zebra tribe. And I am afraid that I must take all of you into custody, no matter whom.", Somber declared, as he took a glance at Star, bawling her eyes out. He wanted to break disguise right there, but the chief...

 

As he shouted indescribable words to the other zebras, they start to circle around the group, as they forced them to walk to the base.

[Windy Scamper 403]

Scamps tried to fight out of the circle. "Hey, wait! My coltfriend's back there! Let me out, just for a second! I need him with me!" She cried.

 

She dipped her head down looking from Airy, laying on the sand, and Star, crying her eyes out. "I'm sorry Airy, for having to leave you behind," she mumbled. She then turned to Star. "I'm sorry Star. I really thought Oak Branch was Somber...it must be a concidence."

[Miss Light Diamond 2,802]

 "Its ok Scamps, I thought it too." She muttered, Looking at the zebra who she thought was Somber.

Star was so upset she didn't realize that these were the first zebras she had ever seen apart from her father... and herself.

*I guess dad was right... Learning things about zebras may come in hoofy."  She thought, following the group into the big dark jungle.

(OOC: Time to settle my desire for Moonbeam to get attacked by natives.)

 

As they were being escorted, Moonbeam grabbed Firecracker, who was walking beside her, by the hoof and she dashed away with him. A couple of the tribal warriors gave chase. Moonbeam ran and she ran with Firecracker, her lungs almost exploding. Suddenly they were tripped by stray root and they toppled to the ground, Moonbeam's magical instrument falling beside Firecracker's head on the ground. The warriors caught up to them with spears pointed to kill. One was about to attack Firecracker while he was defenseless on the ground, but Moonbeam got up to stand in front of him, the blade almost touching her chest. "I won't let you hurt him!" she announced.

 

(OOC: blow the whistle)

Rose didn't know what to do. None of the zebras seemed to realise, or care, that she could not walk. She was stuck, and didn't know what to do. She just looked around. Star had already gotten up and left. Nopony else seemed to realise that she was being left. She despaired, thinking she was going to be left behind again.

Stacy had just finished eating when a zebra poped out of no where. She didnt pay any attention to him for she was more concerned about everypony else. When other zebras came and circled around them she began to take notice. "Whats going on?" The zebras then began to push everyone towards the forest. One of them pushed her. "Hey! Chill!" She said collectin her saddle bag and its contents, then went over to rose and lifted her on her back as well. "Sorry about the saddle bag Rose." She said grunting from the weight of having to carry both of them. She then proceeded to folow the group to the forest.

As Moonbeam and Firecracker ran away from the pack, Oak Branch forced a few zebras to run off after them. Then he remembered that he left one... That one pony with the bad leg. He cried to one of the zebras, telling him to gather her on his back and to carry her to base.

 

Immediately, he could hear Moonbeam in the distance, yelling something. He knew what it was. He took a hoof to his mouth, and whistled. The jungle becomes silent, and many zebra guards run up to them. Motioning a few to his left, he signals for the ponies to head to base. To the others, he runs off with them to the other two in the jungle.

Scamps gained hope when she saw Stacy' s escape. She quickly leaped over the zebras, but tripped, and was pursued. She then ran over to Airy and picked him up. "I'm bringing another intruder," she scowled. "What's the big deal anyways? Why do we have to be taken back to camp? We'll just hop on a boat, and get out of here, if that makes you happy." Scamps was furious. She knew she could potentially be killed by these zebras, but she wanted answers...

 

'Curiousity killed the cat.'

 

'Well, I'm not a cat.'

 

Scamps stood in front of Airy's unconcious body, and growled a bit. "Well? I want to get answers. Then I'll go with you."

"Um... I can take your saddle bag Stacy." Star took the saddlebag and draped it over her back, Making sure not do tough her wing.

She then looked at one of the zebras. *Its been a long time since I have done this but.* "Um, wewe ni nani ... Unataka nini kwetu? She said, Trying her best to remember what her dad had taught her.

What good was a pony with a bad leg? She had actually taken a look at it, after she had recieved the medical supplies. "My leg shouldn't be swelling like that. All I did was bump it." she said, worried.

When star took the saddle bag Stacy thanked her. She then looked at rose and smiled. "Its not a problem. I dont mind it really, heck if you wanted id carry you till the cows came home. That is if i lived on a farm, which i dont. But honestly dont fret about it, im happy to help you." When rose said she had bumped her leg stacy looked back to see it. She gave rose a worried look. "I think you did more than just bump it. Maybe these zebras will help you get that healed." Stacy continued walking without another word.

One of the zebras had turned to Star, repeating this:

Then, he had turned back to the group, as they were about to enter the Jungle Zebra tribe camp.

As the zebra lunged forward with his spear, Moonbeam fell backwards, collapsing onto Firecracker in a heap, there faces inches from eachother so they couldn't see what was going on. Moonbeam cried with the fear that she and Firecracker were about to die, hugging him tight. Suddenly there was a sound like thunder, and a tremendous rumbling could be heard all over the island.Several loud thuds and screeches could be heard coming from the attacking zebras. When Moonbeam looked up, all of the zebra's were either gone or unconscious. They were all horribly bruised and battered. The area around them however, looked...brighter...fresher, and in the distance, Moonbeam thought she could faintly hear a raspy Everfree accent whisper, "Blue mooon." Moonbeam, tears still falling from her eyes turned her head back to Firecracker, embraced him, and kissed him, their lips tinged with the salty flavor of tears. "I love you Firecracker," she thought, finally realizing how she felt. They had to leave right away, but this was a moment they had to have. Besides, the beast that that whistle summons was still lurking in the forest...

 

 

(OOC: This is not Yavolin. Also, a male Everfree accent, in my headcanon is like a Scottish accent with tint of Clint Eastwood)
