"Okay, I understand your story, If we let you escape with us, will you go do your schemes to take over the world somewhere else? Oh by the way I'm Firecracker." he said to the duo, then he realized that Star, Somber and Spark were stuck in the waterfall cave. "I know what to do in this situation..." he said out loud. He then went up to the cave where the three were trapped in, "Go as far as possible from the entrance, I'll try to blow it up so I can free you." Firecracker attempted to say on the other side of the rock wall.

Stacys heart jumped when rose said she had chosen. *Who? Why isnt it up front about it?* stacy though to herself while keeping a poker face. Her heart was still beating hard. *oh, i....she didnt chose me did she? Shes hinting it.* Stacy flattened her ears low on her head now realizing who Rose had chosen. Stacy almost didnt hear roses next comment as she sulked in her sorrow. She perked one ear up and listened. "No, i dont hear anything." She said in a depressed tone. *Screw this! Im leaving!* she thought angrily and collected her stuff quickly.

Rose looked at Stacy bemusedly. "Why so down? Stacy, I thought you'd be more excited." She stood there for a moment, wondering why Stacy was trying to leave after such great news. Then a thought occurred to her. Stacy didn't realise that she meant her!

 

She immediately moved to where she would block Stacy's path, and patiently waited until Stacy looked her in the eye. When she held Stacy's attention, Rose said softly, and with a small, embarassed smile, "You always were the obvious choice, after all, weren't you?" Her eyes were sparkling with unmistakable emotion as she gazed into Stacy's eyes...

"Ok in that case I am going to try to move some rock You stay here until." She heard Firecracker call through the rock. "Alright, Somber... You are going to have to get on my back... Its the only way we can get to the back of the cave. I think Firecracker is going to try to blow up the wall." She said, Leaning down so Somber could get onto her back.

[Undyne 1,483]

Wait, blow up the wall? That was the plan? Whatever. Somber went onto Star's back, repeatedly saying ow from the pain in his back and face. Once he got on, they moved a lot closer to the end of the crevice, as Somber slowly got off her back and was laying on his stomach.

 

"Ok, we're good... I think."

Star grimaced a couple times, She had forgotten that just a couple days before she had also broken her wing. "Ok... Here we go.... FIRECRACKER....WERE READY." She yelled as loud as she could, Hoping that Firecracker had heard her. "Please let this work." She thought.

After he assumed that Spark, Somber, and Star was far from the exit as possible,  he needed to make a simple bomb and not a rocket, he found a soccer ball-sized rock that would serve as the shell, he saw that the rock had a deep hole for putting the black powder in, he also had found a small length of rope to serve as the fuse. Using his magic, he assembled the bomb and put it in front of the entrance.  He then lit the fuse using the fire spell, Then a loud explosion occurred, destroying the rocks that were blocking the cave, making a big enough opening in the cave entrance for them to escape.

OOC: The bomb that Firecracker made was supposed to be identical to this:

The rock wall explodes as there was a loud explosion coining from the entrance. Tons of gravel went shooting off. A large rock was heading straight towards Star's head.

 

"Star, look out!"

 

Somber had jumped in front of her, taking the blow from the rock, and thrown into the cave wall. The last thing he saw was blood... And darkness...

"SOMBER NO." Star screamed... But it was too late. "You Bucking Idiot... I didn't  mean that... Im sorry... SOMEPONY HELP." She yelled out to Firecracker and the others standing at the entrance to the cave. "Wake up wake up wake up wake up wake up." She muttered, Holding Somber in her arms.

[Marathon 562]

Stacy looked into Roses eyes. Upon hearing that she had chosen her, Stacys heart stopped for a split second. She spoke in a soft voice, "You...chose me?" Stacy hugged rose tight. She let go. "I still need you to promise me you wont do that thing with your rose. Im still kind of scared of that." She said looking away with shame.

Somber was unresponsive at that moment. His eyes were shut, as blood trickled down his forehead and chest. His wings, though still hurt, hung there, lifeless. None of his dexterities were in motion. It was as if he fell into some sort of comatose state...

The Star Ruby wilted slightly, almost remorsefully, but contrary to her flower's movement, Rose smiled. "I don't think I'll need to do that again, though, will I?" She leaned in, and kissed Stacy very sweetly. Shortly after it began, she cut off the kiss, her ears twitching as if she was listening intently. Not a great time to whisper to me, Forest! 

 

However, she did listen to what the forest had to tell her, and as she did so, a look of horror grew on her face. She looked at Stacy with wide eyes. "Come on, Stacy! They need our help!" She started towards the hot springs at a brisk pace.

[Marathon 562]

Shocked by Roses action, Stacy sat there with a surprise written on her face. She then noticed her ears began to twitch. *What the...?* she thought as she watched rose intensely trying to study what she was doing. Then the horror filled her face and now Stacy was a little more worried. Then she said it, *Somepony is in trouble?* she thought. "Wha-who?" She asked but rose was already gone, so stacy ran to catch up.

*celestia dammit!* bright Spark thought *what is it with theese ponies and near-death expiriences?*

After watching somepony almost risk their life to save another, Bright Spark sighed. "give him here." he said, and took somber without warning. he created a small field around the two, to stop the waterfall from breaking sombers wings with the pressure.

As Rose ran, she heard Stacy panting behind her, gasping out questions. Rose attempted to answer,  just as breathlessly, as they were both still running. "Behind the waterfall... Cave-in.... Our friends...." That was all she managed to get out, as the forest hadn't told her much more than that, and besides, getting there faster was more important than gasping out answers.

 

Arriving at the Hot Springs, Rose could indeed see that the water at the base of the waterfall was a darker, murkier colour than it had been previously, as if the waterfall had carried a large amount of dust down into the pool.

[Marathon 562]

Stacy finally cought up with Rose. She watched as Spark carried somepony out throught the waterfall. Apon seeing the injured pony who almost seemed unrecognizable, she could tell somber was not in great shape. Stacy suddenly felt sick to her stomach and felt the need to throw up, but she kept herself from doing so. *Dear Celestia, what happened?* she thought her face turning to horror just as roses did earlier.

Star followed Bright Spark out of the cave in silence, Staring at the ground. *Its my fault... Its all my fault.* She thought, Glancing at Somber's blood which was all over her body. *Somber... Im so sorry.* Star stopped walking and after standing for a couple seconds... She fainted.

"that chief zebra, Dew mist was it? he took somber behind the waterfall and dislocated his wing. when we found him, he got out and caused a cave in. fircracker got it open though." he looked down at the chief "and from what i can tell, he wont be waking up soon."

Rose looked aghast. This was even worse than she thought. She ran to Bright Spark, only to see Star collapse. Could it get much worse?

 

Rose took charge. "Somepony take Star to one of the clean pools and wash that blood off. I want to make sure she's not injured as well. Spark, let's take Somber over there too. I need to get a proper look at those wounds before I can try cleaning them." She started walking towards one of the cleaner pools, rummaging through her satchel at the leaves she collected on the island, trying to remember what Greenleaf said they all did. Thank Celestia she still had some stuff from the first aid kits from the beach.

Bright Spark simply nodded, and walked along carrying somber. he had gotten better at helping ponies around, what with most of them geting into some sort of issue. But this was more important. Because this time, lives were on the line. He hadnt prepared for something like this, and at the same time, felt responsable.

Firecracker felt in shock, one of the rocks that was being blown up was about to hit Star, but Somber jumped in front of her during the last minute. And now Star had fainted, probably from the sight of blood. Suddenly, his bandaged arm didn't feel irritating anymore, he took it off and found for the open cut to be a scab and the burn was gone.  He then got hit with shame as it was his fault that Somber got hurt. He then hugged Moonbeam for a bit for comfort. He then ran over to Spark, carrying Somber's seemingly inactive body. "Hey, Sparky, thanks for going in that cave when the zebra was in there." Firecracker said to him.

Moonbeam returned Firecracker's hug, comforting him. "It wasn't your fault. You never meant for this to happen."

 

When he went over to Spark, Moonbeam followed Rose's order, bringing Star to one of the pools of water and beginning to clean her up. She had a bit of experience with first aid so she was able to do a fairly comprehensive check for possible injuries at the same time.

 

Though Star was unconscious, she still felt like trying to comfort her. "Everything's going to be alright, Star," she said with a shaky voice, holding back tears as best as she could while she tried to clean the blood off of her.

Stacy looked around the mess with paniced eyes. She couldnt hear anything as adrenalin filled her body. She could see rose talking and the others moving but she still didnt hear anything. Eventualy stacy broke down into tears. "Why? Why does this have to happen right now?" She yelled in between sobs.

Huh? What's...going on? Am I... dead? No, I can't be... I wouldn't be thinking right now... What going's on now? I could feel myself... being picked up? I hear water.... Am I still at the waterfall? I thought Dew had tried to kill me. And Star tried to.... Star. Where is she? I protected her from that rock... Is that why I can't move or anything?

 

Huh? What's that? Is that.... a light? Why is it so far away? I'm kind of curious...

Airy slowly drank the green mixture. He wasn't too sure about what it could be, but it neither hurt him nor tasted horrible when he drank a few drops. It took a little while, but soon he felt how the brew gave strength to his muscles and helped his viev clear up.

"Thank you. Now, about my injury... Scamps, would you mind to come a little closer? I think it will become a little... emotional when I talk about it, and I'll need a shoulder to lie on."

"Hey Spark, I can help you carry Somber's body if you want." Firecracker offered. The mares went down the pool water, So he decided to see if he can help make Somber better. "Hey, did you know some guys who were after me took out the zebra using a dart gun?" he said, trying to make conversation.
