Bruno © 125 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 So i just wanted to know about your relations with your brother/sister. Well,i will start talking about my brothers: So, i have 3 brothers (2 brothers, 1 sister) but i only live with one of my brothers, since my mother is divorced with my father and me and the brother which i live with is from my father's first marriage, the others 2 are from my father's second wife, so i will not talk about them very much (because they are young like my sister is 2 and my brother is 9, and i do not talk with them very much) So, i am the middle brother ( with 14 years old) and as i said, i live with my older brother, he has 21 years old and he's very annoying, we ocasionally fight for everything( food, who gets the top bed, because whe live in the same room, becaus only live in the same house is not enough) and we have lots of discussions, because when he brings his girlfriend home, he takes her to his/mine room, and guess who have to leave the room until she leaves? and when i have to watch MLP i have to keep hiding the screen of my laptop so he won't be able to see it, and problably know that would happen if brother knows that i am brony (call me gay, make fun of me, etc.) But, our relation is not only of fight and discussions, we are really good friends, and in the end, everything ends well. Well, i do like my brother very much, independant of all things that happen in my life. Sorry for possible bad english,by the way, and talk about your brothers here, i would really like to see if in the US the brothers are better(or worse) than mine(because i live in Brazil. 1 Made by the awesome Angels_Gal
Night Shine 767 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 (edited) I'm the youngest sibling in my family; I have an older brother who's three years older than me and in college. And yes i'm from the U.S. He is obsessed with freestyle skiing, and has little time for Internet, but is still very academic and intelligent. So when I told him about MLP, he said immediately, "show me an episode". i showed him Return of Harmony, but after a couple minutes he decided that it wasn't for him. Still, besides occasional jokes at my expense, he's pretty chill about me being a brony...but he'll probably never join the herd. Anyway, besides him, i only have an older sister, so yeah. Sucks that your brother makes fun of you for watching MLP, but i guess as long as it's in good fun, it's not a big deal. lilymalady123 203 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 (edited) i have one brother and one sister, both older than me. and can i just say: i hate them!!! no offence to anyone, but man are they idiots. i mean they are smart, but they are so strict with what the expect from me and others. anything that might "hurt their reputation" is immediatly illegal and i often get in trouble with my parent, yes my parents, because guess who's family doesn't hide favouritism. in fact, their not even my real family! im adopted, due to my stupid grandfather wanting my mum to have three kids to fit into the cookie-cutter life he made her. so im stuck with a pair of siblings who hate me and i have mutually feeling for them. they always gang up on me, and lately my brother has been going through depression so of course all my problems are me "looking for attention" as my parents put it, but no, i have problems to. which brings me back to the whole "reputation" thing. i am, naturally, the weirdest person out there and dont give a buck what anyone thinks... except them! because they are family and what they say hurts me more than anything. im a brony, i hear voices, i have paranoia, i watch weird youtubers, i play minecraft, im not a frigging hipster and i cant play cluedo or poker or chess or checkers. so all of that makes me a limb that needs to be severed. all my friends agree that they are terrible to me and on occasion my sister hits me so hard i bruise, but do my parents care? no! they let it happen! AAUURRGGGGGHHHHHH!!! thanks for letting me get that off my chest. and that was my first rant... i cant be bothered to edit it... meh Edited December 23, 2012 by lilymalady123
YesIAmTori 285 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 (edited) I have two brothers called James and Darren. I'm the middle child and it doesn't suck as bad as I thought it would. My mum still takes interest in my drawing and baking and she knows what music I like and try's to talk to me about it (she actually knows quite a lot! I think she was an Offspring fan during the late 90's because I found a copy of Americana in her CD collection). I'm also the only under 18 girl in my family but that's not important. My older brother Darren is 22 years old. He's an IT technician in a college. Darren is the awesome brother because he's funny and we can chat about rock and heavy metal which I can't do much with my friends. He gave me his laptop when mine was no longer usable because it overheats so often which was really nice of him. My younger brother James is 7 years old. I have no idea what he wants to do when he's older. James has been doing a lot of pony drawings recently but he gets mad every time and says stuff like "But they don't look like Tori's!" Etc. I don't think he understands that drawing is a skill like most that takes time and hard work to master. He doesn't really have a celebrity idol, he just uses me as his role model. I like both my brothers really and I know we get along better than some of the families out there. Also, I'm from the UK! Bucky McGillyCuddy 956 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 I'm the eldest in the family except my parents so i pretty much run the show I don't really have much to do with my sister me and here just keep to our own but i get along with my little borther just fine. He's into everything i'm into except ponies. I will raise him well. If you'd be so kind as to check out some of my drawings, I would really appreciate feedback. http://mlpforums.com/topic/82464-feedback-is-magic/?hl=feedback+is+magic#entry2127254 http://mlpforums.com/topic/82871-what-happens-when-a-pony-fights-a-griffin/?p=2178588
Discordian 6,015 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 I have one brother I've always lived with and one I always forget about because I've never met him and only learned about him when I was 14. I have no fullblood brothers, they are both half brothers. The one I live with is a total asshole to me. He's three years younger than me and treats me like shit, always thinks I'm trying to tell him what to do when I'm merely reminding him of things he's been told by OTHER PEOPLE including our mom and he's a bully. He does nothing but insult me day in and day out. I don't think there's been a whole hour in the last five years where he wasn't insulting me in one way or another. Oh I'm nice to him, but only because I have an unnaturally compulsive need to be generous to those around me. If it weren't for that and my ultimately pacifistic nature I would have floored him years ago.

ImAvinOops 83 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 I'm an only child and I have always wondered what it would be like to have a brother or a sister. Not like I really wish I had one or anything but I do wonder what my life would be like with one. I see my friends with their brothers and sisters and they all seem to have very different relationships with them to each other. Some always seem to be at odds, some don't really have much to do with each other and some are really close. It's interesting to see as I haven't got anything to compare it to. There were good times and then there were bad but in the end they were my family. Personally I'd say "family" is a highly overrated and overused term. If you had a friend who was suddenly an asshole to you all the time for no good reason in spite of your kindness toward them would you stay friends with them? No! So why would you do the same for a person, such as a brother or sister, who does the same thing as this hypothetical friend? Because they are related to you? Because the only actual connection you have is by blood while mentally you could be at odds? I'll never understand anyone who can say "Oh he's an asshole, he used to beat me up all the time and steal from me, but he's still family so I love him" You don't love people who treat you like that. I'm not saying all bad relationships with siblings are like that but if you wouldn't forgive a friend, why would you forgive a sibling for doing the exact same thing? dragon4111 914 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 Well I'm not you now am I friend but the reason I'm not with them is because I'm adopted away from my biological family. CyberFlash 41 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 Hi Bruno I'm an older brother (6 years older) than my only younger brother and it makes me happy to hear you say that you still love your older brother ... even though you fight and argue sometimes! Both my brother and I are grown up now, but when we were living with my parents I gave him such a hard time. I would tease him about the childish tv shows he would watch and we used to fight a lot (over who's turn it is on the computer etc) and I would generally torment the hell out of him. But we did also enjoy some awesome times, played some great games and had fun. My brother now lives in China and it has been many years since I've seen him. I wish I could go back and tell him I love him. I wished I'd have been nicer, bought him nice things he couldn't afford ... been there to offer advice and help him deal with things. I guess in a way I was...but I could have been a much better bigger brother. You only get one family! Treat them well, and make sure you tell them you love them!!
Chill Mists (Chilly) 801 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 I have an older brother and a younger sister. My brother and I don't see each other much, I'm usually in my room and he's usually in his. We meet each other on trips to the kitchen though, we don't even need to talk properly to each other, we usually talk by going "Mmmrmrrmrrmmrrm" and we know what the other meant. We still get along though. My sister and I play video games and whatnot together, we get along very well. Brushing your hair is for people who care and someone who cares is not I, I'll jump off a bridge and then fill up your fridge, and best pony is Fluttershy. Wubsie 1,123 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 Me and my little brother are friends. We always go to the park or talk about random stuff together and laugh about it. He looks up to me since I'm the oldest. So he always does what I does. If I'm into pokemon....he wants to collect some cards or get the game. If I'm into Maplestory...he'll want to create a character. If I'm into CoD...he'll play with me all the time. It's cute since he's 9. :3 So he's one of my best friends. 1 I Steam I PhotoBucket I Youtube I Ask Me Anything! I used to be a stranger 7,993 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 I have two older brothers and one younger sister. Because of how we've grown up, yes we had rough patches and yes there are things we find abstract, stupid or horrendously annoying about each other, but the three of us are all best friends. It's also fun and funny that we're each taller than 6'4" (195 cm) and varying between athletic and somewhat muscular builds. At church we have to sit at the back because we form a wall with our shoulders that blocks the view of the pulpit. We have our flaws and we bring them up with each other, and we respect each other's quirks. The problem for us then is interfacing with the differences between us and our youngest sister... I hope brothers are brought up as a subject in the show, since I think that would make interesting subject matter. If at the very least so that Big Macintosh and Shining Armor shippings have some fuel so that the rest of everyone else can laugh at those people. Envy 6,142 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 I don't have a brother. Thank goodness, I don't like men. Just kidding! Maybe. I do have an older sister, though. By several years. Naturally, our personalities don't clash. Although we certainly did fight in our childhood, we always enjoyed playing with each other. Even video games, like Animal Crossing. Lol. However, a few years ago I did something very stupid... In retrospect, that is. I came out to her. I don't know why in the world I did this... It must have been all of the rejection I felt from my supposedly supportive friends and mom at the time. I was frustrated. I made a status update on Facebook expressing this frustration (but not saying why, of course), and then she saw that and decided to start a chat on there about it... and essentially she cornered me and I came out with it. =/ The problem was that at this point she had been married to a man for a few years who was... a jerk. Also a very stringent conservative and very homophobic (although, not a Christian, but an Agnostic. I never understood that one). My sister was very impressionable, and she came to believe everything that he did. So I came out to her at that point... Which now it's clear why it was so stupid of me. But she acted supportive... Even publicly joined a group on FB saying she was proudly supportive family member of somebody who was gay/lesbian. I'll never understand any of that, as flash forward just a month later she "forgot" all of it. But she didn't really forget it. She "forgot" that she was supportive. She has never brought it up to me again. However, she has made comments while around family members that I have never told anything, that were extremely hurtful and had to be intentionally so. They were vague... Vague enough that when I reacted to them, I became the one to blame, because my mom could not understand. I have to say that within the last year or so these comments have died down. However, I have not forgiven. There was never any apology. I don't make a scene of it... and try to act normal around her like I did before any of this happened, but deep down I'm still hurt. So that's my relationship with my sister. I wish I hadn't been so stupid. There's no turning back on this one, unfortunately. Everything needs more woodwind!
MelancholicMemory 2,025 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 I have two younger brothers. The first one is in high school. He wrestles and plays football, and he is obsessed with his weight and fitting in with his peers. When he is home though, he just hogs the computer playing runescape. He is overly aggressive, greedy, selfish, cruel, and his favorite hobby is seeing our younger brother cry. His constant need to fight, hide my things, and destroy my property almost ruined my childhood. Now he's a little more mellow, but he's still a total psycho. Lately he's been playing CoD with me so maybe that's a good sign. J My youngest brother has his problems too, but I can deal with them. He is super dependent, always needing attention. He throws a tantrum at even the smallest thing, and he's a total drama queen. He's always too loud and he has a ridiculously high pitched voice. He also has ADHD. Still, I try to be a good big brother to him, but he seriously tests my patience. Neither of my brothers know about MLP, and I will keep it that way. My relationship with them seems to have improved since I left for college, because I do not see them as much. I don't really know how I feel about my siblings overall, but really I just try to avoid them.

Shanks 10,816 December 23, 2012 Share December 23, 2012 I have a brother that is younger than me by about 2 years, he turns 25 next month and I turn 27 next month. We haven't always gotten along in the past, some of our fights turned ugly and I mean bar room brawl ugly but most of that was more my fault than his as my inner monster sometimes got the better of me. But despite that we both cared about and looked out for each other, and though we don't have nearly as much in common now as we did when we were kids and I don't really see him or talk to him as much whenever we need each other we are there. Yes, i know that one day, we are going to separate, and thinking of this makes me feel sad, but we still have much time until this happen, time enough to we do many things together( go to places with family, like some brazilian states, and maybe US next year).
