Leafeon 2,702 January 3, 2013 Share January 3, 2013 Well, not a fan of first person. So I do like anything third person, including shooters. But my favorite genre is actually racing games. Like Driver: San Francisco. I actually really liked a lot of FPS games this year though. So hard to say. 2 Eeveelutions: @Vaporeon: N-Harmonia : Ampharos @Flareon: Descant/Bard @Espeon: Locked @Umbreon: Lhee @Leafeon: Firebolt @Glaceon: Mal @Sylveon: Don'tDropThatDedenne
Haven Celestii 9,385 January 3, 2013 Share January 3, 2013 (edited) My favorite genre is FPS with Gears dominating that area even though its Third person. Why? Cause its the only 3rd person I play due to not knowing many others. DooM is a god among games though. I love it! And before you ask, no, i don't do Zanondrum/skulltag or whatever it is. Haven't tried it yet and dont plan to just yet. I'm also decently spread out between most if not all genres. So FPS isn't the only thing I play. Not sure if it can be moved with you still being a blank flank and all. Nevermind. Apparently you can, my bad. I'd say that my top genres are 1. FPS 2. Open world (Mostly just Assassin's Creed Series) 3. Racing 4. Whatever Castle Crashers falls into Top 3 Games 1. Assassin's Creed 3 2. Black Ops: 2 3. Castle Crashers Xbox 360 (I know its really old on the Xbox but I love it.) 4. You are so right. A FPS can really give you good tactics to take out any competition + play for fun. Even, a open-world game can occupy anypony. Harmonic Revelations 8,835 January 3, 2013 Share January 3, 2013 (edited) My favorite FPS is Halo, but there are just so many I really can't pick one over the others. And I like lots of genres really. I'll list some games I enjoy, not sticking to any particular genre since there is a variety -Half Life Series -Halo Series -Gears of War series -Farcry series -Area 51 -Oblivion -Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards -Gex series -Ape Ecscape (Not the new ones though, only the first one) -Red dead revolver -Red Dead Redemption -Blacksite Area 51 -Chromehounds -Fable series -Star Wars: The force unleashed -Dead Rising And many, many more that I can't list here. Also Castle Crashers merely because I'm a huge fan of Newgrounds. Edited January 3, 2013 by Harmonic Revelations

X) X) X) X) X) X) X) X) X) X) X) X) I really do recommend the Metal Gear Solid series each one of them are pretty amazing games But for the sake of your brain cells, try to play them in chronological order or in the order they where released, it is really hard to understand the story if you start at a random game and then just jump to another random one
Vengeance 84 January 4, 2013 Share January 4, 2013 My favorite genre would be RPG for games like Fallout and the Elder Scrolls, but I do love just about all other genres. The genre that I had the most fun playing was platformers when they were popular... games like the Spyro series and the Jak series.
~Asuka <3~ 867 January 4, 2013 Share January 4, 2013 RPGs are my favorite. But I mainly play older games, like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1+2, and Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess. I'm not much of a gamer, but those two have managed to stick with me. 1 #1 Asuka fanboy. Signature created by Thunder Bolt. Tav of Paradise 16 January 4, 2013 Share January 4, 2013 I've really wanted to get away from killing genres for years solely on one question I was asked at the end of Uncharted 2. "How many men have you killed, really?" I can't answer how many virtual people I've massacred and it makes me sick to be honest. Unfortunately that's the gaming market today, and I continue to play these games. So I guess I'm really into RPG's as of late. My Top Titles: 1. Dark Souls:PTDE (Amazing story and sidestories) 2. Scribblenauts: Unlimited (A really good break from killing games, imaginative) 3. Team Fortress 2 (Skill based, allows me to really get in touch with my coordination) Open world games are also a soft-spot of mine, but I really lost interest in crime games like GTA and Saint's Row after I woke up to what those games really portrayed. L.A. Noire is also on my list, but just because I love to watch old Detective movies from the '40s. Since though I've really tried distracting myself away from video games with art, so far it's worked.
Bonevelous 12 January 4, 2013 Share January 4, 2013 (edited) I tend to be a fan of several genres, but my favorites lie within platformers, FPS and puzzle games. I'm particularly fond of 90's DOS games. My top five favorite games in no particular order: 1. Klonoa 2. Deus Ex: GOTY 3. Comix Zone 4. Jill of the Jungle 5. Commander Keen I'm also a big fan of most Valve games. I like Garrys Mod and other sandbox games a lot as well, but sometimes I can feel swamped in them! Meirno 550 January 4, 2013 Share January 4, 2013 I gotta say my favorite game of all time is Starcraft Brood War. It's the only one I've ever played competitively. Very fun. As for FPS games, I don't really know. As for new games, their all the same. Old school, I gotta say Quake is some kind of beast. Racing, don't play em. 3rd person shooters, ehh... Metal Gear Solid if that counts. 1 Proud member of the Code3 Bronies! Signature thanks to Doc Volt.
