When they arrived at the training room, Lila set her books in a corner of the room and took a spot in the center. She began the same spell from before, and the floor began to melt into a pool of lava. After a few seconds the lava began to rise up higher and higher. Lila was holding her breath while she tried to complete the spell, and after a few more seconds she gave up and released the breath she held in. When the floor turned back to normal her head began to throb furiously as if protesting for the attempt.

He facehoofs and walks up to her arrow still next to him. "Can't you try a different spell?" He was getting worried for her. "Try that serpent-thingy spell." He exclaimed as if he couldn't think of anything else. *maybe you could try something else than fire or lava*

Lila had to lowered her ears away from him when he spoke. For some reason everything sounded really loud. "That was the fire serpent spell." she said quietly because her own voice seemed to hurt her ears as well. After a few minutes the throbbing in her head began to decline slightly.

"And with a sigh, she closed the old dusty book and set it gently back on its self. Wishing for a better day to come tomorrow. So that today can be forgotten and lost in the memories of that book..."

@@Descant,@@The-Master,

Rambler sat in a bar off campus for a while, drinking, but it did nothing to help ease the pain. Everything had been perfect, and he had to go and ruin it. Eventually, he left the bar and wandered campus aimlessly, not really knowing what to do with himself. When his hooves grew tired from walking he sat on a bench in the middle of the campus and played another song.

Cascade inhaled deeply. Rambler's reaction when he had seen Star Keeper... She felt like a poison. She didn't know what else to do, but she didn't want to poison Rambler's relationship with his roommate so early on in the year. Things were going far too quickly for her anyway, if he was seriously considering them living together. Maybe she'd break it off. Maybe it'd be better for both of them. She wasn't yet sure. She dressed, and pulled her saddlebag back on, and trotted out of the gym area. Swimming tryouts would be that evening. There were ponies preparing, swimming laps. As she watched, she felt a twinge of uneasiness, yet felt entirely confident. She was a natural; she wouldn't need preparation. Cascade left Paradise Gymnasium, thinking about just going to get some lunch. She'd probably go and get some lunch. She heard music playing, and not the happiest of music. She uncomfortably avoided the area that the music was coming from as she walked, where she figured Rambler must be playing some music. She honestly felt slightly guilty, although she could not identify why.

*Hey, don't get yourself so down, hon! You're bound to find your special somepony in the near future! I'm sure of it! And I honestly love your room. It sure beats my master's... Then again, the only things she owns is a cheap, half-bit necklace, and me. I'm surprised she managed to get accepted into a high-class school, considering she owns no clothes...*

(OOC SOOO sorry, haven't had internet access for Forever!... you guys post a lot.)

Sweets would seem a bit surprised. But, she only sighed. "Hey, sometimes ponies home lives are Different. Mine... just happens to be really good, by most standards. And I REALLY love to draw." she giggled a bubbly little giggle. She completely dropped the subject of boys, resigned to a life of lonliness. She shook out her mane briefly, sighing in relief now that everything was away in its proper place.

Sweets, my love, her life is a lot more complicated than you think. A bit tear-jerking as well. But! Don't let it bring you down. So, you're an artist? May I see some of your work? I would DEFINITELY love to examine them.

Rambler of course did have a point, but most of what he said sounded like blind rage rather than reason. Star wasn't going to let him decide what to do, and he had to try and sort out this conflict. The unrest between him and Cascade was eating away at him.

It was his fault that he left, but he saw it as doing her a favor. No pony wants to be stuck with nervous social reject for the rest of their life, she deserved more than that. But that doesn't mean he couldn't try and be friends. He had to try.

Finding her (and not Rambler) would be difficult. He tried the pool, being the obvious place to look for an aquatic Pegasus, but came out with nothing. After a quick search of the campus he decided it would just be best to leave it for today, pick it up later. The sound coming from his stomach reminded him that he was mortal and required sustenance. I guess the cafe is better than nothing.

Cascade trotted into the cafe, got herself some exotic tea and a light fruit salad, and sat at one of the smaller tables for one. She put her earphones in, and hummed, allowing her mind to be blissfully empty.

After a while, and she had half-eaten her meal she was surprised to see Star trotting into the cafe. She drew up a second chair invitingly, but otherwise not drawing attention to herself.

@@Descant,

It was only now that he noticed the lone mare sitting at the cafe, no Rambler to be seen. Star was, to say the least, astounded by the inviting gesture. He made his way the table at a nervous pace, taking a seat down by Cascade. He was relieved now to see her wings were back to normal, well, normal for her.

Alright, now to start this off calmly, no confrontation. Play it smooth Star. "Sorry about that whole mess earlier. I-I didn't really mean to start an argument. Is that why you were upset?"

He smiles and hugs back. "Alright." He replied. "Whatever floats your boat." Joking about her and how she keeps on trying. Though he had to give her credit for still trying and not giving up. But one day, she'll pass out on the ground trying to do one of those impossible spells.

Cascade smiled wistfully. "You always were quick to blame yourself for everything, Star." Her kind tone surprised even her; she wasn't exceptionally happy with him, no, but she didn't want to pick a fight. "It wasn't you specifically I was upset about. Everything just got to me... I..." She hesitated, thinking of how best to phrase what she wanted to say. "I'm sorry about Rambler. I didn't want to drive you two apart..." She drummed her hooves on the table embarrassedly.

@@Descant,

While he hated to admit it, she had a point. He blamed himself allot. Aside from his obvious self esteem issues, Star was surprised at the tone of which she spoke. It was as if nothing had ever happened, just like good friends. It was...  nice.

"You don't have to apologize. I'm the one who has allot to be sorry about. Besides, I can't really see me and Rambler getting along too well. I'm sure he's nice most of the time, but he can be a bit... aggressive." Don't start trash talking her Coltfriend you fool.

(its all cool)

Lila got back up and went back to the spot she was standing before. Again her horn glowed, and the same thing happened. Almost completing the spell and having to stop before she passed out, and the headache came back worse than before. It made her cringe as she went off to the edge to sit down again. "Arrow, can you bring me my saddlebag?" she asked while she flattened her ears.

Cascade looked wistfully out the window, considering what Keeper had said. After several moments, she decided not to say anything about her possible plans for splitting with Rambler, and instead, looking back at Star, asked, "Why, Star? Why'd I never see you again?" Her voice made it apparent that she still hurt from thinking about it.

"Yes!!! And it was amazing!! I didn't think it would happen but it did!!!"

(Ok... Iv been having way too much writers block lately... It's starting to get annoying)

Shade walked into a cafe to get some breakfast,.. Then head on over to class

She sat at a booth and ordered some hay.

Night Song got some cereal and ate at the same booth table as Shade. As she ate, she wondered what exactly piqued that stallion's interest in her friend. "Shade, what was it about you that was so interesting him?" she asked inquisitively.

(I'm not typing in the name of my second OC until somepony comes up and asks) Stepping out of visual arts class, she levitated her schedule and map out of her saddlebags again. On her schedule, it said that magic was her next class and that it was in a special place in the gym. Her excitement for brand new spells matched her enthusiasm for visual arts. She then got to the gym and saw two unicorns over in an area different from the rest of the gym. Assuming it was where that special part in the gym was, she went to the corner of the area and practiced her light orb spell and her water orb spell at the same time.

After he finished playing the song, Rambler resumed wandering the campus aimlessly. He was still depressed as well as angry. He was mad at Star Keeper for interfering, but really he was far angrier with himself. He had thrown away the best thing that had ever happened to him.

As he was walking he glimpsed a familiar face out of the corner of his eye. Was that Cascade, sitting in the cafe? It was! But who was she talking to? Rambler entered the cafe to investigate.

Cascade couldn't stop herself from laughing at him for this. "It wasn't your opinion that was important, though, was it? It was mine." She had gone suddenly quiet. Between a combination of a rush of nostalgia, and who she had just seen at the door. Perfect timing, Rambler, she thought. If he yells at Keeper again, like he did earlier, I don't know if I'll be able to stay with him.

Lila paused for a second, "Some potions have a natural color but sometimes I add coloring so I can easily organize my potions and it helps for quick recognition. Fire spells give me headaches when a spell becomes incomplete, so I color it orange to represent fire. Its usually just a light teal color." she replied as she felt the throbbing ease away. "But no, I don't like magic enhancers. They're temporary fixes and have nasty side effects, most of the time. Plus they're addictive."
