Will we ever see another Alicorn?

If the Twilight rumor is true, then that nullifies your first point. And consider this: when we were first introduced to them, the two existing alicorns had direct control of heavenly bodies. This made them seem like the gods of the pony world, which is why a lot of people still see them as extremely powerful beings. Of course, they were brought down by the revelation that unicorns raised the sun and the moon before Equestria was founded, and the introduction of Cadance made them seem a little less important. So personally, I don't want to see them downgraded any more, and I feel that both Twilight becoming one and the introduction of even more would do just that.

I agree that Twi becoming one would desgrace them, But hows interducing another one would downgrade them. For all we know this pony might bring more glory to the alicorns than Tia and Luna ever did. The alicrons are no longer specail since Celestia was beaten twice and shit her pance to Discord and Sombra who arent alicorns. And the Alicorn Amulet implyed we will have evil Alicorns or something

I think that introducing a new alicorn at this point, even if they are given near-godlike status a la Celestia and Luna, would be too late stand a high risk of them being mary sues. 

 

Why does this show even *need* a new Alicorn?  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I don't think MLP needs a new alicorn. But even if the Twilight Alicorn rumor is true, I think we have enough alicorns like Celestia,Luna, and Cadance.

There are enough alicorns by far. Alicorns should only be in the royal family, and so far they are only family. Nothing tells me that trend won't continue. Also the only female thing would explain why only a limited number exist, considering they are only the (Possibly) Omnipotent goddesses/royalty as well as Cadence.

Exept for the fact that Being an Alicorn isnt something anyone can do. Your either born one or not. And how would it end it rareness? So 4 Alicorns out of perhans a billion Ponys isnt rare enough for you?

Actually considering how little information we have on Alicorns that statement could easily be untrue. Plenty of people think Alicorns are made not born.

 

I do think we need atleast 1 other Alicorn to show up, just so we can have Alicorns explained a bit. Maybe have some pony become an Alicorn(Doesn't have to be an old character, could be a totally new one) That way we can know, or we can have one born one.

 

However I don't want it to crowd the show. Having to many Alicorns with superpowerful Wings+Horn power is not fun after a while. To many Alicorns will make the whole Alicorn thing not that special anymore. Like its brought up in the DBZ discussion.

 

And while being an Alicorn doesn't necessarily mean your super powerful, it does mean you have abilities of pegasi and unicorns, thats pretty good regardless of how powerful you are .

 

Anyways, I'd only really be ok with like 1 more Alicorn, anymore would be stretching it I think. And it has to make sense, and hopefully explain Alicorns more.

I have a topic similar to this:P But it focuses on Twilight the most.  I would love to see it happen but i agree with hawkflame (2) that we arent the target audience and most likely never will be.  The show is still for families. and a younger audience.  Maybe as a show ending but idk about the whole idea.  I wish!
