Imaginary Friends

Stary Dreams

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty sure that we've had imaginary friends (or something relevant) some point in our childhood, like I had one named Blue the Silent (Like Bloo from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends XD), he was blue and silent but he and I had fun times, swinging and me telling him stories, drawing... I had other imaginary friends, but Blue the Silent was my favorite.

What was yours?

I never really had an imaginary friend. Instead, I had a neverending story going in my head. And it's still going.

I don't know when it started, but I just started daydreaming some adventure. Every couple of days/weeks I would make slight changes to the story. And now, years later, it has gone through dozens of iterations. I like to think that that was my 'imaginary friend', because it was always there when I needed an escape from reality.

I don't know if this counts. I just want to be included.  :(

I've never had an imaginary friend or anything similar ever. Is it very common to have an imaginary friend? I don't think my mind was creative enough to make up an imaginary friend.

Sorry about the temporary lack of signature, I have changed my name, so I need a new one.

My mother said that when I was two I would have fascinating and complex conversations with someone who I just referred to as "The Man". Two people moved into that apartment, I remember them distinctly because they were two women (I think they were lovers) but they moved out soon after and no one lives there now. I'm not sure if he was imaginary or not considering they moved out so quickly.

My son had an imaginary friend named Jackie that he would occasionally makes stories about and who eventually moved to California. The subject came up the other day (he's 6 now) and he talked about Jackie and happened to mention that he got shot and died out there which was said matteroffactly. It didn't sound like he was channeling any trauma of anything, it just sounded like his imaginary friend went to the wrong neighborhood at the wrong time.  ^_^

Imaginary friends? I had an imaginary friend, But I remembered preferring my teddy bear to the imaginary friend. I remember Mom requesting an extra chair be brought to the table for the bear.

Me and my friend used to always get together to talk to our imaginary friends. <_<

Anyway, yeah. I used to have an imaginary friend, although I can't remember his name. He was a cool guy, though.

When I was in the 3rd grade, I dreamed up an imaginary friend I dubbed "Wabouwb" (the b was silent). Much to the delight of my classmates, this interesting fellow took up residence in the ceiling right above my kitchen.

I mostly invented this guy for laughs. I don't have any strong memories of pretending to talk to him, though there's a good chance I did at some point. However, I do fondly remember two memories involving other people's reactions to Wabouwb:

  • Wabouwb became quite the sensation among my fellow 3rd graders in my class. In fact, it became a sensation to such an extreme that, at one point, my teacher said something along the lines of if she heard one more Wabouwb from anyone, there wouldn't be any recess.

  • One day I was telling my dad about this fellow. I made sure to point out how the "b" at the end of his name was silent. My dad told me there weren't any words in the English language that had a silent "b" in them. I said there were, and he asked me to provide an example. I said "lamb." He told me this story years later, after I had forgotten, and both of us got a good laugh out of it.

This is so, so cute. A similar thing happened to one of my imaginary friends when I was around that age... he moved away when I started kindergarten, got married, grew up, and died. Within one day. His name was Nick, because that was my favorite name when I was like... 3. He lived in the tree in my front yard (until he moved to an unspecified place).

Gooood times.

I can't really remember if I had an imaginary friend officially. My memory of my younger life is kinda vague.

Its kinda ironic with the fact that I was homeschooled and stuff in all of my early life, you'd think the lack of social interaction would bring me to create a more memorable imaginary friend.

Its not an uncommon thing though.

I had these two weird cartoon dogs, one blue with ice powers and one red with fire powers. They had fifty puppies with a whole slew of powers. They all talked and were my best friends.

Goes to show how little of a life I've always had.

I have had several over my childhood days:
Leila, a turkish girl

Antika, the with who later gave up witchcraft and instead became a tinker living in a cave and renamed herself into Taiko

Sheila, a white Tiger

Sheila's kids: Kiki, Caro, Clarissa and Lucky

Sahasrahla, the black Panther

Various comic/cartton characters I was curious to meet
