Well, this was supposed to go into a topic with an image for Concord, as well. However, Concord is a jerk.  <_<  Nah, just kidding. The file corrupt. Which is odd because Sai has never corrupted a file before. Maybe adobe bought it! 

 

Anyways, since I finished this yesterday, due to the delay, I may as well upload it now. Turns out I can't draw sitting ponies front view. Seeing as I have trouble doing both already... ya. I had to use references more then I would like to.

 

Regardless; sorry for the delay.

That is an amazingly shaded, colored, detailed pony! One of the best I've seen so far. I love the braid too. There is really nothing to critique

No but seriously I really like this. All the little details like the freckles the little red band and the shading of course is wonderful!

 

Plus I really like the mane color and how it goes with the body color. Everything looks beautiful together .

Oh wow this is really quite fantastic. Ive seen a lot of pony art, but most of it is not at this level. Brownie points for using colors that people would not normally use.

My only nitpicky note is, you seem to shade areas that are covered by the body which is good, but dont shake if there was a light source. For example. if you shaded to a light source, there would be shading on one side or both of the horn, then a highlight area, but on this image thats completely missing.

Other than me being nitpicky (because doing that really can make the image look more dramatic  you did a splendid job on this, and I look forward to seeing more of your works. (you should draw Chrysy)

My highlight layer is above all the other layers. Sometimes the shading shows up under it, sometimes not. Simply because of opacity levels which changes depending on the color.

 

And, I have drawn her once. I may draw her again due to her having best VA.

The shading and her hair are exquisite. You nailed all of Sandy's colors, even the freckles. All that's missing is the point of the quill pen on her cutie mark, which comes out under the scroll. But you don't have to add that if it's too much trouble.

I can't really do that due to how I set up my shading. It would mean re-doing ALL of the shading, including the mane and stuff.

This is quite adorable!  Other than some minor shading issues, which I believe someone already mentioned, this is certainly a nice piece.  The expression and pose work well together and the colors are quite pleasing to the eye.  Very nice work, and I look forward to more!
