So. The winter season is now over apart from the last episode of Love Live which airs Monday. So what does everyone think of it all? Which anime did you like and which did you hate?

 

I'm thinking of doing a winter season wrap up some time this week too so I need to re-watch all the anime ....... Including VVred operations D:

I actually haven't gotten around to finishing them yet but so far I've been enjoying:

 

Shin Sekai Yori (It's kinda strange but I liked it so far)

Chuunibyou (Banishment, this world!! )

Minami-ke Tadaima ( I just like slice of life)

Kotoura-san ( I just started this so...)

Maoyuu (It's got the whole Spice & Wolf thing going for it.)

Yay.... the spring season has started..... and I have to wait a week because my crunchyroll membership has expired

 

I have to say I'm quite looking forward to Devil Survivor and Majestic Prince the most.

 

Also all the anime from the past season is now free to watch on crunchyroll.com so if you are going check it out these are the shows I would most recommend

 

 

Oreshura, kotoura-san,Oreshura,The Unlimited Hyoubu Kyousake ,Oreshura,Love Live school idol project and  Mondaiji-Tachi Ga Isekai Kara Kuru So Desu Yo (Problem children) Also Oreshura,

 

Out of everything those are what 'I' would recommend.

 

Now for a small update I'm gona be going back to the weekly focus anime stuff soon and while I do have a list of anime I would appreciate any recommendations.

so if you would like to recommend an anime to be the focus for a week please shoot me a PM

Cool to know that you like Elfen Lied, it's one that I like as well, though you said you were looking for a anime that was similar to Elfen Lied? Hmm....I'd say go for Higurashi, it's not the same as Elfen Lied, though it does have a dark and creepy atmosphere that would appeal to you

Yeah Elfen Lied was amazing, at first I was a little horrified by the dark tones within it, but i found it gripping overall and the ending was just so beautiful it was unreal !

Elfen Lied is a pretty good starter into the world of animated horror, especially for someone who isn't really used to that kind of stuff. Higurashi does take it up a notch on the level of dark/eerie atmosphere though it still is considered as a "close relative" to Elfen Lied. The major difference that sets the two apart is just the storyline, both have a darker atmosphere and if one of them interests you then the other one possibly would.

I just re-watched the whole Elfen Lied yesterday. It definitely is one of my favorite animes. I love how bad-ass Lucy is, but then she switches back to Nyuu-san and she's so cute!

I use to like it but when I last re watched it, something felt off and I started to notice all the bad things about it. But that was the dub so maybe i shall watch it subbed for a change.

Ah I've had this one sitting on my hard drive for a while now, might as well start watching it since you recommended it. There is a second season though that is also 26 episodes in length, plus four OVA's.

I never did bother watching this one, mostly because I was too worried that it would be like the anime version of idiotic teen high school TV shows, maybe I should watch the trailer before judging it, after all I did enjoy Nichijou which is kind of a high school-related anime, and I mildly enjoyed Lucky Star.

well I won't say it isn't a idiot teen high school show, but its the best kind that, and uses the characters poor timing and stupidity to great comedic effect rarely going for any drama unless its in the black comedy side of things.

Attack on Titan

This snuck up on me because it started with a 2 part this week but man were that both awesome, kind of a slow start, but awesome.

Also the way this world has been built makes me want to read the manga and learn more about it and get ahead, which the only other anime to do that was Berserk.

just as a re cap *throws confetti and glitter* Welcome to the Anime Club! its like the Anime thread but with more sparkle with the purpose of chatting about anime and our favorite shows as well as introducing new show that some people might not have heard of and spending a week or so talking about an individual series. (kind of like how book clubs are)

 

But it died a month back :'(

I'm bring this thread back to life and getting back on track with it. So with out further adu.... I've been on one hell of a anime binge, and by that I mean I have crammed so many anime shows into my head @.@

Binbougami ga!

 

Its a comedy about a girl who was born with a huge supply of good fortune, upsetting the balance of luck in the world and results in a bad luck god coming down to try and take that luck away from her........... and it is funny as f@#k.

Anyways my favorite anime is Squid Girl! Recently finished Soul Eater though and I loved it. Also my boyfriend got me the 2 digimon s1 dvd sets. I love them so far! Great memories!

Sounds interesting. I'll watch a couple of episodes later tonight and come back with my first impressions.

 

I've been watching Attack on Titan lately, and I gotta say, it has an interesting plot along with really nice animation for those action scenes. I just have one problem with it so far (I've seen the first 5 episodes) and that's how sudden some of the events are happening. I don't know, I'm just losing some of my interest in it because of that.

 

As for Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, I'm loving it so far. Not a very action heavy show but it's got an interesting plot (at least, to me). Still, not much mecha action; that kinda surprised me. Mecha and action go hand in hand.

Yeah Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet is my favorite show of this season so far and I think Attack on Titan is going to pick back up for episode 7 onward. I'm also liking Majestic Prince The severing crime edge too as well as Henneko
