Looking at her face again he saw that her eyes were indeed clouded over. He also saw the reason he hadn't noticed before. She was beautiful and he was too captured by her beauty to notice such a small flaw until it was pointed out.

"Well, it was... Exciting. I was living with my parents up till the time both my parents started cheating on each other. My dad was an explorer and my mother inherited my maternal grandmother's dress buissness... Anyway, I moved in with my Grandfather near Manehatten. He ran an old windmill. I loved it there, and I loved my grandad. And my school-life was 12 years of pyshical and emotional torture... I was that kid everypony liked to pick on... They really just sort of hated me. When I was 16, I had no friends, so I decided to make Rhonda over there. Well, I've depressed you enough, how was your childhood?"

# It is rather evident, isn't it? Well, anyway, he has even said that one day he wants to be a rich and successful inventor and live in a big mansion and have mares begging to be with him.#

(So basically, Gears wants to be Tony Stark.)

When she pulled away, he felt deprived of something that he had needed his whole life, but that was pushed out of his mind as she said that she would be his special somepony. He felt like jumping for joy and shouting, but he didn't want to attract attention, so he put another kiss on her soft changeling lips.

in the time that dox set up his cot, shade pushed a big rock, close to the fire, she takes off her extra armor and places it beside the rock.

I was actually born in the everfree because I couldn't. And everything went swimmingly for 6 years until my dad developed a metal illness and kidnapped  me. It worked a few years but he was caught and sent to rehabilitation, so lived with my mom for 6 more years. When I was 16 I left and moved to Ponyville where I met somepony. He was nice, and he introduced me to his friend who was an alicorn. then I decided to adopt a child and move to Canterlot. About a month later I was arrested for 6 years..."

Then looks up at the stars, they were bright. "Arnt they beautiful? Yawn* I could just look at them all night"

 

Shade wanted to stay awake but the cot was so soft that her eyes were starting to close.

Shade yawned once more closed her eyes and fell asleep, for once she felt warm, happy, and loved. She never expected this but she loved every second of it.

 

And a first in a long time, she was sleeping in her changeling forum, in the presents of another pony. It was awesome!
