Suzaku 88 February 21, 2013 Share February 21, 2013 Okay, so I'm still new to the fandom and I love music. So naturally I want to listen to some good fan music. I've been browsing EqD under their "music" tag looking for some good stuff, and looking at the threads right here. But here's my problem. Most of the music that I've found in the fandom has been heavy techno, dubstep kind of stuff. Which I don't like. I don't like hardcore, sharp-edged computerized music. I want something more... harmonious. Melodic. I prefer something with vocals, but I would not mind a good instrumental provided it had some really good orchestration or something. I'm explaining this terribly. Basically, I'm looking for something that has either "real" instruments or at least allows the vocals to rise above the techno bits. :c Can anyone point me toward something like this? 2 EXCALIBUR RISING PHOENIX TIMBERFALL PURITY KNIGHT SKY CHERRY BLOSSOM EXCALIBUR RISING PHOENIX TIMBERFALL PURITY KNIGHT SKY CHERRY BLOSSOM

Aberyst 18 February 21, 2013 Share February 21, 2013 (edited) Inconveniently enough, I love electro Despite that, I've found a few less/non electro songs and artists that I enjoy, so to name a few: Hirosashii - he does some light electro with vocals. 's a good songLe Soldat Pony makes nice chill acoustic music. Be Cool is pretty nice. Replacer's music is kind of a blend of light electro and vocals and is a good song of his.I'm so slow at adding links, so I'll leave it at this for now Xp Edited February 21, 2013 by Millenigal
Freewave 1,145 February 21, 2013 Share February 21, 2013 (edited) Hey Suzaku, I'm glad you're avoiding the dubstep side of the fan music. I'm not wild about it either tbh (Balloon Party just seemed so non-pony for the most part and soulless tbf). One question i have for you would be whether you're looking for IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) which for the most part is electronic music that turns its back on most electronic DANCE music for something more interesting and organic and listenable . A few suggestions are in here http://bronymusiciandirectory.blogspot.com/2012/07/idm-complextro.html and links to more artists who do more of the same. SoGreatandPowerful and Jackleapp are both great examples of both that flirt with dance music If you're looking for something more "ambient" but still dance music, house/techno/drum & bass/ trance I could look to find some good suggestions for you. PinkiePieSwear fit this style well and is one of the great original first wave artists we had. One of my absolutely favorites: I'm sure i can dig up a few great examples but let me know what you that i've suggested so far. I'm only allowed 2 video empeds so I'll need to hear a reply. I've got a few of MY own that MIGHT fit your wants but i don't want to spam this thread with my own music when I'm sure there's many possibilities that will work.. Also let us know if you're looking for primarily vocal tracks, if you're ok with cut up samples (like that PinkiePieSwear track), and if you like or don't like instrumentals (more and more pony music is going instrumental making it hard to tell its pony unless done WELL). Edited February 21, 2013 by Freewave I have made brony music since 2011. I like all kinds of music and genres. I'm sure you'll like some of it.. Beautiful I've Got To Find A Way remix, I must say Oh thank you kindly. It's always hard to know if I was rushing it as i normally take month or so on a genral track and then this came together quickly in 2 intense days of work. Sadly EQD may have passed over it for some more of the upbeat and full blown electronic versions but in the end I liked how mine came out (as simple as it is). Thanks for the compliment, it means a lot Well let me post 2 more tracks!! SoGreatandPowertful (definitely IDM here) Sadly SoGap deletes the tracks from his channel shortly after he debuts them so it's a bit hard to find his material although you can get them from a fansite ( http://sogreatandpowerful.com/ ) and from other channels on ytube. He's an odd one but we love him which is why a few friends and I made a tribute album for the guy. http://sgaptribute.blogspot.com/ Here's a beautiful liquid drum & bass track by UnderpΩny Like? DusK 1,264 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 Most of the tracks I've done consist of metal and punk covers/remixes of songs from the show. I've done , and . There definitely is an oversaturation of EDM within the fandom, and a dearth of well-made metal and rock.

Freewave 1,145 February 22, 2013 Share February 22, 2013 Hey OP are you looking for metal and punk? Hey now, Metal isn't always aggressive. In fact, a lot of Metal is the complete opposite of aggressive. Anyway, I recommend MandoPony. He's done some fantastic stuff and collaborates with AcousticBrony a lot. TheLivingTombstone mostly has electronic pieces, but he's also worked on some other stuff as well.
