I created this thread for the new Monster Hunter video game coming out, "Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate," on March 19th. Here you can talk about the game, arrange in-game meet ups in order to tackle hard quests, and give each other advice on the game. But first, tell me a little about yourself in the poll above. Also, my Nintendo Network ID is bigmacintosh.

I just saw this on the right side on the new threads and I went "Awwwwwww yeahhhhhhhh"

 

So, yeah. :3 I am getting MH3U I've been a long time Monster Hunter fan and did sell my soul to that series already. Nothing beats the time I clocked in MHTri.

 

I played other titles also like on the PSP. 

 

Favorite weapon would be a tie between Lance and Sword and Shield. However, I always like the lance's feel. XD 

I even have a lance buddy on MHTri.

Monster Hunter is an amazing series! My favorite weapon class would probably be hammers because they can parry enemies attacks at times, send small monsters flying, confuse bigger monsters, and break through tough monster skin. My second favorite class is switch axes but I usually use them if I need to cut off the monsters tail.  I had a ton of friends on Tri and we did a ton of Alatreon farming (we usually used the "sleep bomb" method but while the monster was sleeping, I'de set off all the bombs while at the same time, hitting its horns with my hammer)!

That sounds pro. I don't have many friends IRL who play Monster Hunter. The IRL friends who play MH, however, are really low in RH. .-. Can't even go Lagi + D:

Actually, I wanna try it out but then at the same time, I don't because I'm lazy to download the demo especially with my super slow Internet. >.<

Favorite weapon is definitely lance, I love when I can get a good lance charge in and just go to town on a monster. I like the Long Sword as well.

Been playing the demo pretty extensively trying to learn the new monsters(Lagombi and Plesioth in the demo, although underwater controls are kind of a bitch without the Circle Pad Pro they don't let you use in the demo for some reason ) and weapons(the Dual Blades seem killer), really can't wait for this one, so excited!

Lances are pretty fun to use, especially the charging! I havent actually tried the circle pad on it yet but the WiiU controls are great (You have to get used to it first tho)! I bought the WiiU specifically for this game and the new Super Smash bros, haha. I just freaking love monster hunter! I wonder if the next one will allow you to tranfer ur stuff from Tri:Ultimate over to it. That would be awesome cuz now imma have to start from scratch and work my way to the top again.

Indeed! I'm excited that  I don't play with complete randoms now. That pack looks great for those who didn't get a Wii U yet. I did get my Wii U already, however. Oh well, Nintendo Land is really fun anyway. :3

Lances do cutting damage, so of course they can remove tails. I've done it many, many times.

And I kind of like the bowgun too, to bad they removed customizing it in Ultimate though...

Dang, I liked making my own unique bowgun. I had one mixed with all the parts of the elder dragons. So now you just buy it all in one piece?

I use the BG at times. :3 I can be a gunner or a lancer or a whatever! I actually use all weapons except the SA, Hammer, and Gunlance.

Then it's a good thing that my two best weapons are Switch Axe and Hammer, haha. Ide also like to have someone good with the hunter's horn weapon. If used right, it can be useful in multiplayer.

I have actually never heard of the game.

..It's about hunting monsters I guess. I will probably look it up to see what it's about and stuff.

 

But.. How did you think the people who never have played the game (as suggested in the "No" option in the first question) are going to be able to answer the other questions in the poll? You know one must answer to all questions in a poll before submitting an answer, right? 'Cause I have no clue about those classes.

Same, but I'mma first at least get some decent armor and a decent hammer so I don't look like a total noob on wifi, haha. I suggest doing the same because I've seen some noobs get bullied on wifi the first day Tri came out.

I played some offline but got tired playing all alone, so I went online with noob stuff with me. I did fine. :3 I think this time, I'll start off online XD So that I can get immediately great stuff offline then just run through all the monsters in a flash.

You and up to four people on wifi can team up and take on quests to slay monsters, puny and gigantic (and I do mean GIGANTIC).

Sounds like a good plan but you should at least slay a great Jaggi alone and get a piece of its armor or two and its weapon (depending on your choice of class).

Anyway, he's right. You can explore a lot, farm, and hunt monsters. It has a really addicting taste to it that you ALWAYS want to aim for better armor, weapons, and equipment. It is a game more about cooperation because there are monsters that require cooperation simply because it is too hard. (Ala in solo? That's quite hard for me actually I am not a pro MH player and I consider myself average)

 

Keep your head up and watch out for monsters. This game is really fun if you play it. When you watch it online, it may seem boring but when you hold the controller, things get way more exciting.

I've been looking forward to the 3ds version of this game for quite some time

 

The demo made me cautious because the controls were odd for me and the "easy mission" had many failed attempts but I'm aware of the steep learning curve and I'm probs gonna buy it anyways
