Kitty Cat Moonshire 629 March 5, 2013 Share March 5, 2013 Like Hasbro cares? yeah right. They won't change Twilight back. Just because us Bronys want them too, they don't care if we leave the fandom or not they only care about their target demographic. They care about anyone who buys there stuff and makes them money. While I doubt they will revert twilight to her former state, it is illogical and poorly thought out to say that they do not care about people leaving the fandom. The smaller the fandom, no matter what the original target audience was, the less money they get. Make sense? What fun is there in making sense? Phoenix237 353 March 6, 2013 Share March 6, 2013 So ya I'm still in the fandom. I actually though the whole fandom going crazy was halarious. I mean yes it was a surprise for me when it was officially announced, but I didn't lose my head over this. I don't know why people are overreacting. This is me right now I mean for me nothing has happened so far that tells me that I should leave. I will wait and see what happens.
Bhending the Rules 697 March 6, 2013 Share March 6, 2013 I have plenty to say on the topic of the fandom as it relates to the Twilicorn thing, but for now, here... let's just say some folks took it a bit too far, and I think they will (or already have, in some cases) realize their mistake. I just about had a panic attack after "Crystal Empire" (REALLY did not like that 2 parter), but by the time "Magic Duel" rolled around I was fully back on board. I think the same will be true with these folks. We don't give up. Not over something like this. We are positive folks and we always will be. That's a common thread I see among every brony I have met. This is what we have all chosen to be. And none of us would have it any other way.
Lo23 32 March 6, 2013 Share March 6, 2013 (edited) I still see many fans of the show at my college and this situation will role over. The fans who left over the Twilicorn and Fighting is Magic fallout I would not consider 'true' fans and just jumping on the pony bandwagon with its rapid growth in size. To me: I didn't freak out, it was just sit back and see how it plays out. Which should have been a better reaction than the insanity that exploded for a few days after the Alicorn situation was confirmed, but regardless I still love the show and love every fellow brony out there who loves and tolerate to the fullest when possible. Dxthegod 251 March 6, 2013 Share March 6, 2013 Leaving the fandom is the adult version of running away. You do it for attention and we all know you're going to end up coming back soon. I think this image sums things up nicely: 4 Totally Awesome Rectangle Designed In Style You may know me elsewhere as DXIndustriesInc or Dxthegod
Hay Lin 38 March 6, 2013 Share March 6, 2013 Like what I said in another topic, it's redicolus that they leave just because one of the Mane 6 became an alicorn. People wanted RD to become a wonderbolt. Why can Twilight not become a princess? Oh well, it could be worse. For all you know, they might have become haters if there weren't 2 and a half other seasons without crap. Plus, their "scare Hasbro" thing will probably not work. Why? Simple: They are almost finished with Season 4, they just need to finish up the last few episodes and fix the animation errors! There is now way that Hasbro will get scared enough to go back to the pilot and rewrite it! If they seriously think that's going to work, don't they realize that that means though they get what they want, Season 4 will come out very late this year or on 2014? Sheesh...
Michael DeSanta 258 March 6, 2013 Share March 6, 2013 The fandom continues to grow. Yeah a few people may be mad about alicorn twilight but I the fandom is large and powerful and quite mature. I BUKING LOVE AMERICA AND POLTICS. some wise quotes "An armed society is a polite society." "if it neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg, It should not bother me if my fellow man believes that there are twenty gods or there is no god" Thomas Jefferson. Don't worry I'm a pinkie pie fan and I have my random moments of cupcakes.
Leatherbehlt 465 March 6, 2013 Share March 6, 2013 HAH! You don't actually believe they left over that, do you? C'mon, there's a lot of stupid people in the world, but most bronies aren't that dramatic and idiotic. ...
RockinRarity 1,605 March 6, 2013 Share March 6, 2013 Here are a few things that you can do to prove to yourself that there are lots of bronies left. 1. Go to Equestria Daily and view poll results. Also scroll through the comments on posts. 2. Visit several MLP forums and see how many people are online at a time. 3. Go to deviantart and see how many new pony drawings there are posted. 4. Do the same thing with FIMFiction or fanfiction.net or wherever pony fiction gets posted. 5. Browse Tumblr. 6. Look at Facebook posts and comments on the MLP official page. 7. Find out how many pony conventions are happening in the world and how popular they are. 8. On a similar note, see how many comic and anime conventions have attendees who are bronies and if there are any events for bronies at these conventions. 9. Go to the pony aisle at the store and see if the shelves are half-empty (if you live in an area where there are likely to be bronies). 10. Go on YouTube and see how many recent pony videos there are and how many views they get. Wow, that was a longer list than I was expecting to make. LOL. So yeah, there are lots of bronies. Now I want the Futurama characters to be bronies. Somebody make this happen. DarkThistle 1 March 7, 2013 Share March 7, 2013 6 people I know have JUST become bronies. I might be overreacting but I think the fandom is still growing. So yeah. We aren't extinct.
Shanks 10,816 March 7, 2013 Share March 7, 2013 (edited) Yes twilicorn pissed a lot of people off including me and it pissed some off enough for them to leave but it is not nearly enough to have any real lasting damage. As to whether or not more will leave and how many will depend on how they handle the season 4 premier, I have had my reservations but have acknowledged that this can still work and so have calmed down significantly and am waiting to see what happens. Even if this does go as badly as I fear it will which neither side really knows for sure yet I am probably not going to leave because at least we will still have fanfics, fanart and a good community it is when these things fall apart that the brony fandom will truly die and that is yet to happen. Pinguino~ 85 March 7, 2013 Share March 7, 2013 We may have lost a large chunk of our community but when they left they took their complaints with them witch in turn brought more our way and more than the number that left us.
