G'day everypony~
I'm Akoura and am quite new to the forum. I've had my eye on the place for a while, but only recently decided to become a part of it.
I'm an Australian brony who loves to make digital art, and dabbles in other things. I do so enjoy a good ponyfic and roleplay.

Oh, and I'm an acquaintance of ~Chaotic Discord~ But don't tell him. <.< >.>

I'm not very good at writing welcome threads, forgive the brief introduction, and please feel free to have a chat with me. I'm rather friendly.

Luna, hmm? Nice :3

Well, welcome to the dinner party you've been spying on from afar up till now, Akoura :P I'm more than sure if you post around a bit and take the initial steps to become a regular, or at least a semi-regular, you'll find this place is definitely a fun and relaxed place to hang around and discuss things!

Welcome! I do some ponytizing (does that count as digital art?) so if you want an oc, just send me a pm.

do stop by the pub for some cider! 4 bits to a pint, and I can help pick up the tab.

Your intro thread is fine. Better than mine, seeing as how I never made one.  :P

Welcome! Glad you're already acquainted with someone, that always helps, and you know one of the chillest dudes here. Fics and roleplays aren't my thing and I'm not an artist, but if you saunter over to the Beyond Equestria section I'm sure we'll bump into each other. I've been known to hang around Sugarcube Corner on occasion too.

You sound like a great guy so I'm certain you'll quickly carve out a spot for yourself here. CD may be your main point of contact but feel free to hit me up if you need anything.

Hello!

Welcome to the forums!!

So how do you know Chaotic Discord? lol :P

He's an admin of a previous Sonic forum I was on :3 I've been inactive on it for several months but yesterday/this morning I came back and we began talking. He noticed a link in my signature and that I was an admin of this place, and we began on it from there.

Naturally I advertised the shit out of this place :P

While I try to keep my wits about when posting, to ensure I keep everyone happy, don't be surprised if I take you up on this offer if I need assistance with anything. Excuse the pestering if I do, however, as I like to make sure to understand everything about a topic I am unfamiliar with.

Are you just starting out as a digital artist? I would personally suggest anything in the Wacom Bamboo range. Simple, basic, effective, and they usually won't cost a billion-billion dollars.
Don't be afraid to spend a little extra money to get a larger sized tablet, as there is nothing more frustrating than trying to draw a line and having your hand slip off the edge. x.x

Well, we don't talk as much as we should(as I hear he is quite an interesting person), and our meeting was nothing spectacular. Just kinda bumped into each other through the internet.
I'd not known he'd been a part of this place until another friend, who knows him (possibly) a little better, told me he was part of this place.

Thank you all for such welcomes~
Its things like this that help cement my desire and confidence in joining this forum. I hope that I see all of you around!  :D

Yes I am just starting. I've been looking at the Wacom stuff, but I've been having trouble trying to figure out if I want a bamboo or Intuos. What do you think for a beginner?

Unless you have the billion-billion dollars to spend on a good Intuos, I'd suggest a Wacom Bamboo.
As noted above, they're simple, straightforward tablets. I still use my Bamboo tablet that I bought many years ago, and it has yet to fail me.

Don't worry about all the bells and whistles that come with the higher-up tablets and instead invest some money into a good art program. I love Photoshop. Love it to bits. If you haven't got anything aside from GIMP(free and like Photoshop, but not as smooth or user-friendly) than I would suggest buying an Adobe Creative Suite pack.
Adobe Creative Suite comes with Photoshop, as well as Flash, Illustrator, Fireworks, After-Effects, and several other programs all in the art range. If you're serious about an aspect in art, or even if you simply want lots of arty things to dabble in, I would suggest that you get this.

The programs are all connected in a sense that you can move projects between them to get whatever desired effect that you like. I can't count how many times I've not been able to get a shape/stroke right, so I've jumped into Illustrator to smoothly vector it up for use in Photoshop. ^.^

I hope this wall is of use. xD

Hello!

Welcome to the forums!

Since you're into digital art, I guess we'll be seeing each other quite often in the Octavia's Hall forum :) I look forward to seeing you work ;)

Signature to come soon. I think. Yeah. Once I think up a nice one. Or when someone makes one for me. Damn it. I need more time to draw and animate poni. >_<

I didn't get a popular on my first post. Woona is sad.

Oh well, welcome to the forums. If you need help, ask your little chaotic friend that when he became a mod the forums got 100% crazier.

Yes it's very helpful. I was thinking of using a program like paint tool sai or Art Rage. Have you used the and would you suggest them? I will definitely  check out the Photoshop stuff to.

Though I haven't used it, from what I have seen(my friends use it), I rather dislike SAI. Though it may just be me.

I've never heard of Art Rage, however.

Hello, and welcome to the forums! We hope you enjoy your stay!

I'm an Aussie too, by the way. Anyway, have a great day!

So much rhyme, and it wasn't even deliberate! ^^;

Neato. What state? :3

I love randomly rhyming up sentences. I feel rather witty afterwards.
