So as some of you know, I produce music in my free time as 'smyl3r' (I use FL Studio). I've been doing it for a couple years, not too serious though. My music covers a few different genre's, but I usually only upload dubstep. However I'm going to start releasing my other tunes as well. I use soundcloud to post my songs (follow me?), but sometimes I make a equalizer video and throw it on youtube.
 
I'll be posting my songs in this thread for feedback and whatnot. I might post some up-and-coming tunes from other small producers like myself also. Any questions about producing are welcome as well.
 
Btw sorry to disappoint but my music is not pony related. I'm simply a brony musician. Sucks too cause pony.fm is rad /: oh well

To start things off, here is a dubstep song I made a few months ago. Alot of people really seem to like it. Check it out and tell me what you think!

I'm not a fan of Dubstep

Though I do like Downtempo/Chill/Ambient related material

So I might as well critique the first track

The intro was a bit rough

And a bit hard to understand what was going on

However the middle section of the song was quite decently done

If I were to ever give that song a rating

I'd say 5/10 is a fair rating

If you continue on them maybe you'll get better

You have potential my good friend

Thank you very much for the feedback. I can understand why you werent to fond of the song. Its very heavy and, like you said, you're into the chiller stuff. I only make downtempo/ambient every once in a while. Check out 'Introduction' on my soundcloud. Its not finished yet but you might like it.

 

 

Oh and about the song right there ^^ The first part I messed up on, that crackling sound shouldn't happen D: I'm waiting to work on it again to fix it haha. I only get the chance to make music every few days /:

Oh wow. I'm so silly. That makes more sense. Yes the crackling sound at the start is due to having a resonance value set at max for some reason (it's supposed to be completely off). I really want to finish it, maybe I should do that today...

I fixed the crackling sound and reuploaded the track so if you wanna hear how it's supposed to sound here it is . Still a work in progress though.
