Ampyrion rolled his eyes as he watched the group fight over who got what bunk. He took one close to the door and sat down, wiping the dusty bedsheets clean. Within no time sleep was engulfing his senses. *I wonder how my parents are doing back home* he thought sleepily as the cloud of oblivion washed over him.

As the others looked for a bed to stay in, the train lurched forward as it began to move, slowly gaining speed as it followed the tracks toward Appleloosa. Cloud stretched and lay across the bed. It was still quite light outside, so sleep did not come to him. Remembering his saddlebags, he pulled out some apples that he and Nidal had bought while in the market. Because of her bartering skills, they managed to gather decently fresh foods for their trip. "Here you go everypony" he said as he handed out the apples to whoever was still awake, "Little something for the trip"

Nidal took one of the apples and began to eat it. Crystal, on the other hand, wrapped the apple in a shield and levitated it like that towards her, setting it on the bed without touching it or moving to eat it. Crystal waited for her question to be answered ((which was altered so she naturally wondered it and asked instead of it being a response to EB)).

 

Outside, Void stood besides the railroads. As the train passed, he held out his claw and grabbed on near the end. The arm began to tear but he didn't care. It held together until he swung onto the back of the train and then regenerated. He licked his lips, ready to eat.

Grabbing the apple, EB returned to looking back out through the window as he viewed the moving scenery. "I haven't been before, so I can't answer that," he responded to Crystal. "But I hope it's even a little better than the places we've been so far..."

(Oh crap, I forgot about her question!)

 

"To answer your question Crystal" said Cloud with a mouthfull of apple, "Appleloosa is a frontier town, has been for a hundred years. Basically it was close to being rundown as soon as it was made. Now it is a safe-ish haven for those who cant handle life in the city. Crime is much less there, but there are still many impoverished ponies who try their best everyday to maintain a withering apple orchard that serves as their main food supply. Drought has really struck the place down, so they try to expand their business elsewhere as a means of getting more food. I dont know how, but even through all that hardship, these ponies still try their best to stay friendly each day"

Crystal nodded and began to eat her apple, the shield still surrounding both of them. "And how long will it take for us to get there? You said overnight, but you didn't say much else."

Void smashed open the door to the final car in the train and rushed to the other side, eliminating any rout for the ponies in this cab to take other than out the back door, where there was nowhere else to go but off the train.

This mare is obsessed with details, he thought slightly annoyed. "Well... Overnight, and we should be there by noon tomorrow, its a pretty long way there"

"Okay, thank you." She finished her apple and pulled the privacy curtain so she couldn't be seen anymore. Like that, she proceeded to watch out of her window at the scenery.

 

Nidal finished her apple and threw the core up to C2. She followed it and sat down next to him. She whispered, "Seems a lot of ponies are sleeping. Are you going to as well?"

Cloud caught the core as she threw it, he shook his head, "Not all that tired yet, what about you?"

((Nope. We're too far ahead and the train is making way too much noise.))

 

"Just a bit. Enough to go to sleep if I really wanted to or to stay awake if I don't." She wrapped her tail around her as she spoke and looked at him.

 

Void walked down the aisle, using his tail or his claws to slaughter the ponies in this cab. A few tried to run out the back and he quickly jabbed them with his tail if within reach or launched one of his blades at them if not.

Cloud smiled at her, he enjoyed every second he got to spend with her without the distraction of another pony, "Well I am quite content to stay awake with your company" he scooted closer until his side was against hers, feeling the warmth from her body...

Looking behind him, EB noticed most of the privacy curtains had been closed, so he decided to shut his as well. Looking at the apple that Cloud had tossed to him, he finally decided to take his first bite out of the apple as he began to lie back in his bed, not thinking for a second about the stains. A thought then entered his mind; a thought of his parents, and him having been separated. *Mom... Dad...* he started to think. *Are... Are you still alive...? We've been separated for some time... If you two are still alive... I hope I can see you both again after we settle this...* A small teardrop then formed in his eye.

Nidal flicked her tail around herself and wrapped it around C2 instead. She looked up for a moment before speaking, "You want to go up?"

Cloud glanced upward and nodded, "Yes, I could use a little fresh air"

Nidal nodded and got down to the floor. "So why did you want the top bunk so much?"

Cloud smiled as he followed her, "Ehh, I like being high up. Never liked the feeling of being low. I always like the feeling of being higher up because it makes me feel... calm... why did you ask? Did you think of a different reason as to why I did?"

(Well, I guess that explained why the RP sorta came to a halt... I had nothing to say at the time, and I didn't want to interrupt Cloud's lovey-dovey moment with Nidal, either *shot* )

"I didn't think of any reason. I was just curious." She left the car and flew up to the roof. She sat down near the edge of the car, a bit offset from the center. She was facing forward and the sun was still blazing in the sky.

Cloud followed to the roof and walked over to her and sat by her side, wrapping his tail around her, "So what are you thinking of?" he asked her

Taking another bite out of his apple, EB sat back up as he gazed out the window again. Watching the scenery soaring by was a new experience to him, since he never rode a train in his life. Everything that he saw out the window became a blur in his eyes. *Wow... So this is what it's like to ride a train...* he thought... *I never thought it'd be like this... It's actually pretty nice!* A slight smile appeared on his face as he continued to look outside the windows, almost as if he was in a trance.
