Nidal carried C2 back to the party after locating an article of clothing that she could use to hide it: a bandana, like C2 had suggested. It was yellow with a green four leaf clover in the center which was positioned in the same place as the coin gem under it.

Cloud smiled as he whispered to Nidal, "It looks good on you"... Soon after he fell asleep, the bloodloss making him very tired.

Ampyrion walked through the maze-like labyrinth of burning buildings and dust, covering his mouth and trying to stifle the intense heat. As he wandered, he noticed that the closer to one direction he went, the fewer survivors he saw. He tried to help out those ponies as best as he could, distributing some of the medical supplies in his bag, but soon he was all out. What they really need is escape from the fire, he thought sadly. Although whatever that mugger pony had said a manticore of some sort had been ravaging the town, just by examining the bodies, Ampyrion could tell that for every life that manticore took, fire claimed twenty others.

 

He decided to head in direction of destruction, while the fires steadily grew worse around him. Fewer and fewer survivors were there to catch his eye with every step he took, until finally he was alone admist a sea of crackling flames and a plethora of charred, blackened bodies. I'm alone, he thought, panicked. This was a stupid idea. He turned around to go back where he had came. A loud crack above him startled him, and he paused.

A building behind him (imagine buildings on either side of the street, and he is on the street) crumbled completely, raining rubble down onto the street that was his exit pathway. He stared uncomprehendingly at the blockade, before realizing there was nowhere to go now but forward.

(I... Would post something, but I kinda got hung up with Super's character so I kinda feel like waiting for Super to post something with Lightning xD I kinda trapped myself there...)

In yet another flash of white light, Lunar appeared in front of the pony. "I can help you escape this hell," He said calmly to the unicorn, "Just stay still." Lunar walked up to the pony and turned in a full circle, showing that there were no weapons behind his back.

 

Noticing that Electro was crying as well, Lightning took a step back. "I - I'm sorry," She started, "I should have never told you what happened to me. Everyone would've been happy if I had never decided to go on this journey! I'm sorry!" She ran off in the direction of the fire, tears running down her face...

"What...?" was all EB could say after hearing what Lightning say. When he saw her running off, he called out, "No... Wait!!!" before chasing after her, trying to catch up.

Nidal was walking back to where most of the group was when she saw EB and LB. She pointed and got the attention of CS who put them in a shield that prevented them from getting out of it. There was a wall between the two of them, not letting them touch each other in fear that one was chasing the other out of anger.

 

Crystal and Nidal walked up to the shield and Crystal spoke, "Why were you running like that?"

"The buck?" Ampyrion asked in surprise. "Not YOU again. Look, I'm trying to save as many ponies as I can from getting burned to cinders. I'd appreciate it if you could stop stalking me with every step I take."

*Mercer's mind was blurred, what was it he was laying on? He got up and looked down, it was rocky ground. How did he end up on the ground? And why was his wing in so much pain? He had fallen asleep on a cloud, now he was on the ground. He looked around and then he saw her. A griffon. She was sleeping on the ground next to him.*

"Who... are you?"

*Mercer said quietly. She didn't wake up, but Mercer could see the rise and fall of her breathing.*

Description: Riza is a gentle and kind griffon, which is unusual for them. She learned medicine from her mother and is very proficient in treating even very great wounds.

"But I can help you," said Lunar, "I can help everypony! I have enough power to be the Element of Magic! All you have to do is lie down and go to sleep..." Lunar walked up to the unicorn, a smile on his face. Not a sinister smile, but a kind one.

 

Lightning didn't answer Crystal. She just continued to sob, not making eye contact with anypony.

Nidal was too busy dealing with carrying C2 and just stood there, her bandana covering her crystal.

 

Crystal entered Lightning's shield and walked up to her. She nudged Lightning and put a hoof under her head to move her face so that she'd be looking at her. "It's okay. Tell me what happened." She sat down and moved her hooves away from her face. A look of complete worry was evident on Crystal's face.

Looking at Lightning, yet unable to even approach her, EB sat down as tears continued to come down his face as well. *Lightning...* he thought. *You... You didn't have to run off like that... I... I just...* Then his train of thought had crashed as he couldn't think straight now.

"Yeahh...I don't think so," said Ampyrion, waving his tail to emphasize the destruction around him. "Especially not in a raging fire."

Slightly calmer now, Ampyrion was still overly suspicious. "What's the big deal with attacking me back there, eh?"

Lunar looked at the pony in the eyes, "I thought you were the man who killed my family..." Lunar whispered, "But when I saw you helping those other ponies, I knew I was wrong. I want to apologize to you. Let me save you", A tear formed in Lunar's eye.

 

Lightning looked at Crystal. "Everypony would be better off without me", She whispered to the unicorn, "I should have never come with you ponies..." Lightning punched herself in the face, and pulled out the bottle of poison from her saddlebag. She popped the lid off and just held it with her mouth, with a sign of fear in her eyes.

Upon hearing Lighting again, EB looked over and saw the sight before his very eyes. "NO, DON'T DO IT!!!" he shouted as he ran to the barrier that separated the two, tears beginning to flow even harder. "Don't just throw your life away!!!"

"But I don't need saving," Ampyrion sighed in frustration. "The only reason I came here in the first place was to help those who did." He considered. "But if you could tell me where the fires are originating from, I could try to at least save some of the town..."

Crystal put a shield around the poison instantly and launched it out of the shield before putting another shield around Lightning to prevent her from hurting herself anymore. "NO! You are not going to kill yourself. You are not going to die. I will not let you. Now, come on, stop crying and tell me what's wrong."

Lunar smiled once again. This unicorn could save his town! Lunar pointed back to the direction they came from., "I'm pretty sure the fires are coming from back there, that's where I saw the manticore attacking..."

 

Lightning cried even harder, "I- I- Everypony I meet dies!" She repeated, looking back at the poison, "Please, I could help you all. Nopony else has to die, just me!"

"And... And you think... Just killing yourself... You think that will solve everything???" EB shouted at her. "If you did that... If... If you killed yourself... I... I..." He then sat down again, tears just gushing out.

Crystal put her hooves around Lightning and held her tight. "No, no. Nobody has to die. Nobody at all. You can help us more if you're alive." She looked over at Electro and opened up a hole in the shield for him to pass.

*The other griffon finally began to wake.*

"Finally, who are you?"

"Oh! Your awake!"

"Isnt that what I should be saying?"

"Oh, um....... maybe?"

"Whatever. Who are you? And how did I end up like this?" *Mercer motioned to his bandaged wing.*

"Well, the way it goes is that I was out flying and I heard a crash, I went towards the sound and found you, laying on the ground, your wing was bleeding, so I bandaged it up. I always carry medical supplies with me, so it wasn't too difficult, but you should stay off of that wing for a while."

"Okay, that answers one question, but another still remains unanswered. Who are you?"

*She blushed* "o-oh, right. My name is Riza. I had heard that there was trouble in Equestria, so I came to see what I could do to help!"

*Mercer stared at her with a blank look on his face.* "Wat?" *Mercer was very confused by this.*

"Well, you see, I want to help the progression of goodness wherever I can. I heard that there was a group of ponies who were fighting against Discord, so I wanted to see if they would accept me as their ally!"

*The look on Mercer's face changed to one of upsetness.* "You shouldn't even try. They are just ragtag band of everything but the kitchen sink, and their leader? Bah, He is a hypocrite who can't see when someone is just trying to make friends and be helpful."

"That cant be true! I heard that they were gathering back up the elements of Harmony! They are supposed to be the ultimate goodness! Wait..... were you a member of their group?"

"I may as well not have been, they did not acknowledge my help at all. I supplied them with money in a town filled with greed, I helped them locate one of their elements, I even nearly died to give them a warning, TWICE! And yet they still treated me like dirt."

Ampyrion sighed. "I was afraid of that. Alrighty then, let's see what I can do..." He ran off in that direction.

As he ran, the thick smoke choked his lungs more and more, until he had to improvise a bubble of air around his mouth just to keep breathing. He tried looking around his surroundings, but all he could see was the thick black smoke. "Wonderful," he sighed in irritation. "Well, I must be getting close..." If the fire is magical, it's source is going to be nearby. If it's just a huge fire, that's even easier to deal with. I hope.

He blindly bumped into a building, leaping back with a yelp as cinder burned his mane. Momentarily clearing the smoke with a spray of mist, he could just make out the town hall, now desolate and in ruins. This is the only vantage point in all of Appleloosa. I have to get to the bell tower on top of the town hall so I can view the state of the entire town. He closed his eyes and waled into the burning building.

As he stepped inside, a large crashing sound made him involuntarily jump forward, and land with a thud inside. Looking back at the entrance, he could see that a pile of rubble had blocked it. Most likely bumping into the building like he did had dislodged some debris. "If ya can't go back," he muttered to himself. "Then you go forward."

EB was so out of it after hearing Lighting would rather kill herself than try to keep living that he had not noticed that a hole had formed in the barrier. He had his eyes covered with his hooves as he kept crying, unable to stop himself. *I... I don't want to... I don't want to lose you...* was all he could think as he continued to cry.

Lightning gave Crystal a big hug, trying not to let go. She did not want to let go. "I wish Mom and Dad were back..." She whispered in Crystal's ear...
