"Well they should, you look like somepony I'd like to know.." Azura didn't want the skies to get dark before heading in, so she told the group "We'd best be going before the sun goes down." she said before heading into the forest with the other ponies.

 

(OOC: Let's move out!)

 

He smiled slightly, blushing, as he followed her into the forest. The other ponies were only slightly behind, but Featherstone didn't know what he wanted; either for the others to drop behind so he could get to know Azura better, or for them to get closer so he and Azura wouldn't be alone in the Everfree Forest.

"Let's wait for the others.. We wouldn't want to get lost all alone, especially with all those creatures in here, I just don't feel safe." she said, standing and waiting for the others.

 

(OOC: Once there are a few posts, I'll just say that everypony is behind me for the time being.)

"I'm sorry, this is my first time traveling, so I don't know any traveling songs. It's probably for the best since I'm not a good singer, at least according to my neighbours," She said with a cheerful smile.

 

Honey Seed reached the edge of the Everfree Forest and the cheerful grin faded into a gape of awe. The thick trees loomed, taking her breath away. Within the same view, she could also see very young trees, growing in all sorts of untamed shapes. She hasn't even taken a step into the forest and already the wildness of it was fascinating.

 

"Wow, so these woods really are as untamed as I'm told. This is going to be a great search!" She thought out loud before she realized there were other ponies around, "Although I can imagine it can make it hard to find anything."

 

She pushed through the trees and enjoyed the feel of soft forest floor under her hooves. So far she had trouble figuring out what the big deal about this place was. There were the obvious creepy shadows, the clearly wild plants and animals, and the occasional mix of the two that created a rather frightening image, but any pony with half a logical mind could see through this. It seemed as frightening as the space under her bed. In some ways less so.

It felt like the forest was literally alive, watching us through the shadows as walk step by step, though the amount of ponies behind her made her feel a lot more better since some of them look rather well-equipped. Ponies with spears are always the first thing you want in front of you when a monstrous creature jumps out. "We should stick as close as possible, just to make sure nopony gets lost.." she said, looking from side to side and checking her six.

 

(OOC: It's around 3:30PM. It'll get dark around 6:00PM but we've still got time for maybe another page of posts before it does.)

Nightfall pulled out a dagger, the only 'weapon' he had brought, and got a little closer to Azura. He kept looking around, his ears twitching; it looked like he was nervous. But he didn't fully feel that nervous at all, which confused and scared him, making him get yet a little closer to Azura.

"I don't think we need a dagger, especially when it's not even dark yet. Maybe you should put it back.." she said, backing up from it. Azura just didn't feel comfortable having weapons nearby, even if they were in the hooves of somepony who seemed kind of friendly and nice. "There aren't any monsters that roam around that often while the sun is still up, only when the sun is completely down will they hunt for their prey."

A brown pony with an unconcerned look aproches the party.

 

"So... wich one of you is azura?" He immediately dismisses the thought the moment he finish the sentence "You know what, doesn't matter" the odd pony pulls out one of asura's poster, "So, i got a LITTLE late to the reunion but the janitor at town hall told me everything about it. You guys want to solve some mystery, i want some ingredients from the forest, you guys keep me company, i share some of my services and experiece. I say this is a win-win situation, don't you think?"

 

Before any of the ponies could answer the odd brown one added "Yep, win-win indeed, no questions? good"

 

The weird one head on to the forest without even giving his name...

'Man, that brown pony was creepy. Didn't give his name or anything, just came up and walked over.*looking up* It's starting to get dark. Maybe we should set up camp in an hour or so?' Steel heads to the front of the group since he thinks that ponies with offensive weapons should go first.

"Well, now is a perfect time to learn one! This is one that I learned from a friend of mine named Gobo."
Pinoak floats a tennis racket and pretends to strum it like a guitar, and somehow, guitar music starts playing.

"Every day the world begins again,

Sunny skies or rain,
Come and follow me
Every sunrise shows me more and more,

So much to explore
Come and follow me." The unicorn hops down from the wagon and pushes between Azure and Feather, and starts singing again,

"Every morning, every day

 Every evening, calling me away." He trots over to another group of ponies,

"While the sun goes 'round I'll still be found,

Following the sound,

Something's calling me." Pinoak playfully bumps into Honey Seed.

"When the world goes drifting back to bed,

Memories in my head, wonders follow me" Pinoak hops back up into his seat on the wagon.

"Every morning, every day

Every evening calling me away."

The music comes to a close as the tennis racket gets put back into the wagon. Pinoak looks around at the group. "Who has the next song?"

(OOC: I had to type this up on my nook, so I'll edit the post when I get home. Fixed! Also, that song is "Follow Me" from Fraggle Rock, sung by Uncle Traveling Matt and Gobo Fraggle. God do I love that show.)

Honey Seed did her best to hum along with Pinoak's singing, but even humming to herself it was clear that performing wasn't her talent. By the time he gave her a playful bump, which made her giggle a bit, she had given up trying to figure out the tune. At the end she got most of the words of the song, but had no grasp of  the tune.

 

"I guess I'll have to practice it a bit more," she said to Pinoak with a blush.

"Hi, I'm Honey Seed. So you're here for ingredients? That's cool. You mean like plants and such, right? Because I'm a botanist and i just came to Ponyville to explore the flora of the Everfree and when I heard about this search, I just had to join in. You're kind of the same, right? So what kind of plants where you looking for and what do they do? I'm hoping to find as much information as possible on the forest and since you're so sure about what you're looking for maybe you can give me a hoof."

Judith was toward the front of the group as well. She mostly listened to the others talk about little adventures that they had, and even some gossip here and there.

 

She mostly kept to herself and stayed quiet, until she noticed ahead in the distance was a strange that seemed to illuminate a small area of the forest. She runs toward Azura and says in a quiet voice "Hey, do you see that light in the distance. I think we best be careful from here on in." She made sure that only Azura heard her, so that the others in the group would not startle.

 

(OOC-Hope you don't mind that I am adding a essence of danger this early in the rp.)

Noticing the strange light that Judith told Azura about, Steel walks over and says 'I'm going to fly over to check it out. Lead the group in a circle or something like that, but don't get to close in case it isn't something good. Better to lose one pony than 10.'

"Uh? who are you again?" By confused look on the brown ones face is painfully obvious that he only listen to half of what she said.

 

"You azura, right? Whatever, im here to colect some very special mushrooms from the deep forest, if you see some weird red mushroom with blue spots, DON'T TOUCH THEM!, call me and i'll take care of them, if you aren't careful they might explode" The brown one let out a small chuckle "I learn it the hard way".

 

"Oh, one more advise kid, don't eat anything from the forest, most of that stuff is poisonous" The odd pony continued in his own search without taking much interest in the rest of the group.

"I'm not sure if that's the best plan right now Steel."  Pinoak puts a hoof over his eyes to get a better look. "For all we know, it could be the home of the zebra, Zecora. Let's wait a bit until we can actually see what it is. If it's her home, we'll be fine. If it's dangerous, I have a feeling we can take care of it."

Pinoak looks towards the crazed brown pony. "I see that we have a new companion. Might I ask your name? As well as how you've become so familiar with these woods? As for my name, I'm Pinoak Strunghoof, a traveling puppeteer and story collector."

A rather suspicious looking pony approached the group, and not even introducing himself, he joined the party. "Wait a second.. Could you at least introduce yourself? I'm Azura, by the way.." as said, somewhat glaring at him.

I was getting rather dark, and setting up the camps would be a good idea since it's not that simple to put up a tent. "That's a good idea, maybe we'll settle down here for now." she said, unpacking her tent and placing it down.

Judith approached her in a rather worried manner. She told Azura about some shining light in the distance. It wasn't that noticable but it's there. "Thanks for the warni-" before she could finish, she saw a pegasus from the pack flying towards it. "Wait, come back!" she shouted, hopefully loud enough that he heard it.

Azura heard Pinoak saying that it could be Zecora's place, but it wasn't for sure. She's been through the woods before and her house wasn't anything near this area. "It's not Zecora's house.." she mumbled under her breath..

 

(OOC: Let's set up our camps AFTER we check out the light Judith is talking about. I also had to strike that out for a reason, just don't ask.)

The brown pony is colecting some odd looking blue flowers "Pino, right?" the pony turns to see the who is talking to him "Im cunning hooves, but my friends call me 'Boomy' . As for your question, yes, i am familiar with these woods, i came here frequently to gather material for my store" Boomy stops for a second, letting out a heavy sigh "Although most of the search parties turn into spineless chickens lately, don't know why, all i know is that i will go bankrupt if my supply of materials stops, some of my ingredients only grow here, i can't just go to a farmacy and ask for some 'crepitus mushrooms' . Anyway, sorry if i act kind of odd sometimes, is not mean spirited, if i see something dubious i let you guys know"

 

Boomy then turns around and keep picking the blue flowers and putting then inside his saddlebags.

Featherstone sheathed his knife, and kept walking along with Azura, just being quite and nervous. He had never really liked walking in dark, potentially dangerous forests. But he had Azura next to him, and while he hadn't known her for long, she seemed nice and like the kind if pony who could be trusted. He just kept by her side.

Now looking at Azura, "Are you getting the feeling that he's going to do more stuff like that? And if that's not Zecora's house, I'll have to take your word for it. I'm still fairly new around these parts."

Pinoak gives him a curious stare, "Oook then Boomy."

 

Pinoak now looks at the rest of the group. "If you guys want to catch up to him, hop onto my wagon, I'm pretty sure I can give her enough juice to speed right up to him."

"Hey Featherstone, maybe we should scout ahead to see what's emitting that light ahead for the sake of the party." she said, walking faster than the others as they approached it. Azura was speechless. Her eyes widened as she stood in front of a huge egg. It was already cracked open so whatever was in there must have already escaped. Or has it..

 

A furious monster pounced right in front of her, growling like a wild dog as spit started dripping. It wasn't anything she's seen in any of the books she read about the Everfree Forest. "HEEELP!" she shouted, hoping that somepony that was better equipped would save her from certain doom.

Grinning at pinoak, Steel catches up to the other pegasi and takes the front point. Hearing azura scream, he yells to one of the ponies 'Go back and see what that was about, on the double!'

The monster was at least eight times as big as she was, and the only thing a pony with a brain could do is talking some sense into him, not knowing if he even understands her. "Wait, don't eat me!" she screamed, covering herself with her hooves.

 

(OOC: I'm waiting.)

"Oh dear god!" 

 

Pinoak jumps down as Dralstor flies over to the beast, blasting it with a small fireball. "Through the fire and the flames I'll follow through!" Pinoak screams as he bucks the beast away from Azura. His horn flashes yellow as a silver dragon marionette appears in front of the beast. It opens it mouth and lets loose another fireball, just grazing the monster's coat. Both dragons float over to stand between The party and the beast, occasionally loosing their fire breath if the beast get to close.

 

"Azura, first, are you physically alright? Second, I've heard stories of all sorts of manner of beasts, but I don't think I've heard mention of something like this. What is it? Is it a new type of timberwolf? Or is it a baby El Ponycabra?"

Honey Seed's ears perked up when she heard Azura scream for help. A few seconds later she saw what caused the cry. Most would call Honey a brave pony, but she was a thinker not a fighter and this thing had her frozen for a little while. Luckily for everyone, Pinoak leapt into the fray with his marionettes, sending fireballs at the monster. Honey had always had a healthy respect for puppets and the ponies who were skilled with them, but this was beyond what she could ever imagine.

 

The giant monster was fur-less and it reared up at each blast of fire. For some reason it didn't have the want to leave. Honey wasn't dumb enough to think that she would have walked through this forest without encountering any dangerous creatures  that's why this search party sounded like such a good idea, but she never in her deepest nightmares imagined running into something like this. She caught it's eyes. There was terror and anger in them, which means that would tear them apart the second it had the chance. 

 

Honey looked behind the monster. She could see broken eggshells that looked large enough to hold something its size. Then a terrible thought occurred to her. If this was a baby, then where was its mother? It could be one of those animals that laid eggs and left them to hatch on their own. This thing certainly looked big enough to take care of itself, but was that a chance she wanted to take.

 

"Hey, everypony, this seems like a good time to run." She said, slowly backing away from the monster.

I'm fine.. It's the beast I'm worried about. It doesn't look like anything I've read in the books, so it looks like we're the first one to see one.." she said, looking a little worried that somepony would get hurt.

 

The fire didn't do much damage to the beast, but it sure looked like it pissed him off. He growled loudly, causing the birds nearby to fly away. He had scales that were as tough as a dragon's scales. They had to find a weak spot in it, maybe a implosion spell would do the trick by blowing it up from the inside.

 

@@RoseLaflesh,

"Running? Are you crazy?! He's obviously going to outrun us, so we'd might as well take it down here and now. We could also gather some valuable information.." She looked back at the beast, and that's when it happened. She stood up and stomped the ground. A massive wave came flying towards him, knocking everypony away at ease.

 

Everypony was flying in all directions, some towards trees and the others onto the ground. "Ouch.." she said, rubbing her head with her hooves. The back of her head was bleeding a little bit and a few scratches here and there, but nothing major. "Does anypony know a spell that explodes after a few seconds of impact?" looking around, she only noticed one unicorn, and that was Pinoak. "God damnit.. Maybe a spear through it's throat would do the trick as well.." hoping the ponies who were armed weren't too badly wounded from the blast.
