Judith decides that it is her turn to join the battle. She runs swiftly and silently in the shadows so that the monster could not see her ready to pounce on the large beast.

 

She found an opening as Pinoak sent another fireball towards the beast. In one quick motion she ready's her spear and thrusts it into the beast's throat causing it to rear up in pain. It emitted a a loud screech as blood started to poor from the beast's neck.

 

Judith pulls out her spear from the beast's throat and jumps back; prepared for the best to try and attack her next. It turns its attention from Pinoak to her, just like she thought.

 

(OOC-Didn't want to finish it off. Someone else can though, if that's ok with Azura)

I'm fine.. It's the beast I'm worried about. It doesn't look like anything I've read in the books, so it looks like we're the first one to see one.." she said, looking a little worried that somepony would get hurt.

 

The fire didn't do much damage to the beast, but it sure looked like it pissed him off. He growled loudly, causing the birds nearby to fly away. He had scales that were as tough as a dragon's scales. They had to find a weak spot in it, maybe a implosion spell would do the trick by blowing it up from the inside.

"Running? Are you crazy?! He's obviously going to outrun us, so we'd might as well take it down here and now. We could also gather some valuable information.." She looked back at the beast, and that's when it happened. She stood up and stomped the ground. A massive wave came flying towards him, knocking everypony away at ease.

 

Everypony was flying in all directions, some towards trees and the others onto the ground. "Ouch.." she said, rubbing her head with her hooves. The back of her head was bleeding a little bit and a few scratches here and there, but nothing major. "Does anypony know a spell that explodes after a few seconds of impact?" looking around, she only noticed one unicorn, and that was Pinoak. "God damnit.. Maybe a spear through it's throat would do the trick as well.." hoping the ponies who were armed weren't too badly wounded from the blast.

 

(OOC: I never expected to post this much..)

Feather stone looked very afraid. But he remembered that he had wings; he looked at Azura and jumped up, hovering slightly, just above the ground.

"Azura... I can circle it and look for a weak spot! Just- hang on!"

He flew at the beast, and swerved up, trying to get behind it.

"Yes, let's observe the dangerous creature. I brought along a camera, do you want to take its picture while you're at it?" Honey Seed yelled. "Maybe if we're really lucky we can ask it not to eat us while we look at it. Maybe we could even give it a little snack and have it follow us around like a pet." 

 

Judith's spear flew at the monster. The only thing that the spear seemed to do was make the monster forget about all the other ponies. It was now in pain and angry. This wasn't how she thought it was going to end. At worst Honey imagined her final days stuck in some sort of venus flytrap. All things considered, this probably won't be any different. 

 

More ponies joined in on the fight. She watched the monster jump around, trying to avoid all its attackers. The only thing Honey could think to do was give it a good kick to the snout, but she didn't think that would do much good even if she could get close enough.

Azura stood there and watched Judith's spear piercing straight through the monsters throat as blood started gushing out of it. "That poor monster.." she said quietly as she shed a single tear from the fact that she had to kill it. Azura usually leaves things alone, but I guess she had to make an exception to such a threat. She let out a huge sigh and said "Lets finish him once and for all.." as she unsheathed her dagger and charged straight towards him, launching herself on it's head as she stabbed it the dagger right into his eyes multiple times.

Azura stood there and watched Judith's spear piercing straight through the monsters throat as blood started gushing out of it. "That poor monster.." she said quietly as she shed a single tear from the fact that she had to kill it. Azura usually leaves things alone, but I guess she had to make an exception to such a threat. She let out a huge sigh and said "Lets finish him once and for all.." as she unsheathed her dagger and charged straight towards him, launching herself on it's head as she stabbed it the dagger right into his eyes multiple times.

He looked down and saw everyone attacking it at once. He couldn't give up his chance, especially when Azura was right there to see it. Featherstone dove quickly, gaining immense speed. He took out his own knife and dropped right onto the monster's head. He blinked, and found himself on the ground, seeing stars, not knowing if he had done anything or not.

Flying back with the rest of the pegasi squad thingee, Steel sees everypony charge on this one monster. He also sees somepony drop onto its head after azura stabs its eyes a few times. Dropping down to a dive and holding his spear out in front of him, Steel plunges his lance into the back of the monster. Then it sort of explodes on the inside.

The monster wasn't an ordinary monster. From the amount of damage it was taking, he decided to blow himself up and hopefully do some damage to the ponies nearby. It's insides started glowing, and within a second it blew up, launching everypony away nearby. The guts of the monster flew everywhere, and it wasn't nice. "Oh god.. It got in my nose!" Azura shouted.

(OOc-Are our character that technologically advanced that we can make a giant beast blow up with hammers,daggers and spears? Seems a little far fetched but whatever. I'll just go with it.)

 

Judiith saw Irish Steel stab the best with his exploding spear. She back off her attack and braced herself for the impact of the monster exploding from the inside out. She went next to a tree for cover. Body parts slung across the forest making lt stain the bark of the tree and the grass on the ground. A piece of flesh fell in front of her, and she picked it up using the tip of her spear. She examined the scales carefully.

Azura manged to swipe off all the guts she saw on her and looked around. Scales were scattered everywhere from the explosion and blood splattered everywhere. "God that was disgusting.. Hopefully the next thing we see won't do the same.." she went over and grabbed a few pieces of it's scales and placed it in her saddlebag where she dropped off before she jumped onto the monster with her dagger.

 

(OOC: The monster blew itself up, the weapons didn't do that.)

'Dear god, now i look like i'm from the Rainbow factory!' Steel yells. 'Sheesh, you think that because of a controlled blast the insides would blow up, then the whole monster just goes KABLAMMO and explodes guts everywhere! I hope it doesn't happen again.'

Honey Seed coughed as she struggled to get back onto her hooves after flying butt first into a thorny bush. There was so much monster gore on her face that she didn't dare open one of her eyes out of fear that all she would see is red. Honey rolled out of the thorns. The second she got to her hooves she shook all the monster bits out of her mane and coat.

 

"That's the worst experience I've ever had." She could still feel monster chunks stuck in her mane. "What kind of creature blows itself up? That sounds kind of counter productive to surviving. I mean, you guys were really going at it, but I've never heard of a creature that has self destruct." She moves her hooves around her mane to make sure there's no chunks remaining. "The only things I know that self destruct like that are some plants, but that's some form of asexual reproduction." Honey froze as she realized what she said. "I really hope that's not the case here. Or what if it can put itself together like timber wolves. If it can do that, then exploding makes perfect sense." She scans the gory area. "Who's for not being around when we find out, alright?"

"Lets get out of here.. I wouldn't want to be nearby it's corpse if it really does merge itself back together.." she said, quickly grabbing her saddlebag and started walking ahead as the others followed. Azura heard something, something that didn't sound like monsters. It was the sound of a waterfall nearby. "I think I hear a waterfall.. Maybe we could wash up and settle down for the night nearby." she said as she headed towards the source of the sound.

Boomy walks on the scene, without noticing anything yet.

 

"Hey guys, i got something that might interest-" Boomy stops to see everyone covered in blood "Woa, what happend to you?" Unlike before, boomys face now shows true concern about the party. "Is anypony hurt? ugh, that's a stupid question, Who is in the worst shape?" Boomy opens his bag searching for something "i'll try to fix you real quick, just tell me where it hit you and i'll patch you up" Pulls out some of the herbs he was gathering.

Featherstone got off of the ground. He was covered in blood, and a few scales were lying on him. When he got up, he found one of the scale had stuck into his back right leg. He shook off the blood as best he could, and started looking for his knife as Azura mentioned a waterfall. He found his knife with some difficulty, and jumped up and flew over to Azura, landing near her and limping.

"Lright, I'm fine, Featherstone seems to be a bit hurt, and the rest of us are rattled. We now probably know what happened to the pony from the other day. My suggestion is that we get Feather patched up and onto my wagon. Can't have you putting weight onto that leg. Then we should head to the falls and get ourselves cleaned up."

 

Pinoak looks at his body, with bits of of monster and scales. "Eugh, that was disgusting!" He shivers and starts examining the egg. "This egg is nothing ,like I've seen before. It isn't draconic nor is it from the El Ponycabra." Pinoak continues to list off various creatures under hi breath.

 

"Sorry, I got nothing."

"Okay, got it" Boomy Runs off to examine Featherstone's injury. "Oh, crap!" Boomy quickly turns around and run towards Pinoak. "Pino, take this will ya?" Boomy opens his saddlebag and took out ANOTHER saddlebag somewhat diferent from the group, this one is purple with a few blood stains and very mistreated, the fabric seems torn on some areas. "I found it while searching for my ingredients" he took a quick look at the group "Doesn't seem like is one of yours, thought might be a clue, don't know what's in it" Boomy then leaves to find Featherstone.

Featherstone approached Azura, limping as she walked. "Are you hurt?" she saw one of the scales jammed straight into his thigh. "Oh my.. Let me patch that up for you. I've got some bandages in my saddlebag." she said as she placed down her saddlebag, went over and pulled the scale out. She wiped the blood off with a cloth and finishing off by patching it up with a band-aid. "There you go, Feather." she said, looking into his eyes and blushed a little.

 

(OOC: Maybe Nightfall just forgot his Ponysona was a Unicorn. Edit: I forgot to mention..)

Pinoak catches the bag with his magic and opens it.  

"Errm... not seeing much. Just some snacks, a bestiary, some rope, nothing out of the ordi-" Pinoak picks out the book and drops the bag. "It's a bestiary!"

 

Pinoak floats the dragons beside him and sticks his nose into the book, flipping the pages fervently. "Umm.. El Ponycabra, Steve Magnet, vamponies and wereponies, werezebras, golems, beholders, ummm...... AHA! I think I found it!"

 

Pinoak runs between ponies pointing out a picture of the beast that they had just slain. "It's this, the..." Pinoak stops running about and stares at the book, moving it towards and away from his face. "Well, I don't know what it is. Almost all of the words are crossed off. Crossed off to the point where I can't read anything. The only words I can make out are 'egg', 'scale', and 'danger'. All of which are clearly pointed out by our encounter with it."

 

He flips through a couple more pages. "The following page is also crossed off except the words, 'It's here, I shall be overtaken' which are right above the words, 'needs more information'."

 

Pinoak looks to the group, "Does somepony else want to take a look at it to see what they can decipher?"

Judith looked around and observed the group. She noticed at least ten were wounded and only a few had minor injuries or no injuries at all. She walks over to Pinkoak and and takes a look in the book."This is interesting. It says that it was a ancient beast that only lives in the Everfree Forest. The only other thing I can read is that it only shows itself when it feels threatened, and when it's  territory is invaded. Could be why it attacked?"

 

Judith hands Pinoak back the book and walks away toward another tree. She leans up against it in wait for the others to have their wounds cleaned.

Azura overheard what Pinoak said and Judith's input. "It doesn't really matter anymore. The beast is dead and we have more pressing matters than wondering why that monster attacked us, now lets find that waterfall and set the tents up before it gets dark.." she said, waiting for the others to get moving.

"Are you sure? Did you clean the wound properly so it doesn't get infected?" Boomy checks the bandage " all right, it seems pretty good, try not to force that leg for now"

Boomy was asking so many questions she could only remember the last one. "Featherstone's fine, if it's poisonous then only time will tell. We should really go and set those tents up before dark, so lets get moving and chat on our way there." she said in a slightly impatient tone, as she picked up her saddlebag and started making her way towards the waterfall.

Azura looked back and replied "Don't you worry about me Boomy, I'm fine." as she continued scouting ahead.
