((Sorry, guys. I've been playing a LOT of Garry's Mod. Forgot about this.))

"Nah, she's fine, just a little sleepy," Drew said, nudging the brown ball that sat in his lap. "She doesn't do much but sleep, to tell the truth. Here," he said kindly, putting Eevee back in her Pokeball. "Thanks, though, Mrs. Danlep. I might go bother Luna. Make sure she knows what she needs to bring." He smiled at the woman before disappearing up the stairs after Luna. 

 

((Not gonna catch Nidoran? Eh. Guess we can leave that vague. I'll go ahead and put you in Goldenrod City, then.))

 

Hustle and Bustle. The gigantic city of Goldenrod sprawled out before Stella's eyes. The fanstastic Pokemon Mall stood out among the buildings, being much taller than the surrounding ones. A map provided itself right next to the entrance, and it became apparent that Stella stood at the north gate of the town. The Bike shop was a few blocks south and east, the Global Trade Center was down for repairs, the Casino  was up and running as proudly as ever, and it appeared that the Day Care Couple was having a special egg giveaway event at a booth at the city's south gate, near the Pokemon Center.

 

The orb landed at Lairon's feet, where there had been a crack in the metal, and the earth had been exposed. Suddenly, a cloud of dust flew up about Lairon, obscuring it. With a shout from Jasmine, Lairon did something - Riolu could not see, but presumably some application of Earth Power - to make the dust cloud spread  around Riolu. Lairon could spring from any corner of it unexpectedly.

Riolu shielded his eyes from the dust. After looking around he came to the conclusion that the dust was too thick to see through and Riolu didn't have enough time to get rid of it, seeing as Larion could be anywhere. Despite this Riolu stayed calm and closed his eyes focusing almost to he point of meditation. He saw Larion's aura moving closer to the dust cloud. Riolu knew Larion was about to strike so he prepared a Force Palm attack and waited for his opponent to make its move.

Luna had pulled out a large travel pack from her closet and was now filling it with clothes, books, tooth brush, tooth paste...all the necessary item's one would need for traveling.

Abra was fast asleep on her bed, he must have snuck up the stairs when no one was looking...

Goldenrod was an absolutely gorgeous city. The size of the city and number of people were both grand, and Stella quickly began to feel clausterphobic. She brushed the feelings of such away and looked at the map. The egg give away stated to be at the south end, according to one of the flyers, looked like something she would have to check out.

 

Stella began to quickly travel across the city, and arrived at the south end. She saw the egg giveaway, but also needed to rest her pokemon. So, she entered the near-by pokecenter and gave Nurse Joy the pokeball containing Oddish and the one containing Vulpix. Once they had been given back to her, Stella then went back outside to where the Day-care Couple were, though it didn't look like there were many eggs left.... For now, anyway

The DayCare Booth was situated right inside the City Gate building, against a slab of blank wall. It was fairly nicely constructed, and appeared recent, although with its own rustic charm as compared to the shimmering, modern city it sat in. A girl in a golden beret sat inside the booth, behind a large glass display case containing a variety of eggs. White eggs, yellow eggs, blue eggs, green eggs. Eggs with spots, eggs with stripes, eggs with ziggedy-zaggedy lines. The girl behind the counter looked fairly bored, and played with one of her steely blue ponytails that curled up past her ears. A name tag attached to the white jacket she wore over her turtleneck read 'Kris'.

 

 

If you played HeartGold or SoulSilver, and not Crystal, you would know this character as 'Lyra'. I just prefer her retro design from Crystal Version. She is related to the Day Care Couple, and owns a Marill, just like her redesign.

 

 

Riolu shielded his eyes from the dust. After looking around he came to the conclusion that the dust was too thick to see through and Riolu didn't have enough time to get rid of it, seeing as Larion could be anywhere. Despite this Riolu stayed calm and closed his eyes focusing almost to he point of meditation. He saw Larion's aura moving closer to the dust cloud. Riolu knew Larion was about to strike so he prepared a Force Palm attack and waited for his opponent to make its move.

Riolu's aim was true. With a flash of light, Lairon was thrown out of the dust cloud, landing on its feet several feet away. It seemed to be breathing heavily. The dust cloud was blown away, and Riolu seemed to be slightly tired as well, although Lairon seemed to have taken the brunt of the collision.

 

Mrs. Danlep nodded and smiled as Drew made his way up the stairs.

Stella walked up to the booth. It appeared the angle of the pokemon center had skewed her vision slightly, as well as the entrance to the gate covering some of the booth, as there were much more eggs then she originally thought.

 

"Uh.... Excuse me." She said, approaching the booth a bit nervously. "Could I.... get an egg?" Stella's normal expression had changed to a nervous smile, in fear of being turned down by the bored looking girl.

Drew knocked on the door that must have been Luna's, and poked his head inside. "You almost ready? Don't worry about food and water. I've got essentials like that. You might want a sleeping bag or tent, though. Just in case." He smiled as he saw how many books she seemed to be packing. They would be traveling in a mobile library, it seemed.

 

Luna nodded as she stuffed some clothes in on top of her books. She grabbed her Pokedex and poketch, then a few pokeballs. She zipped up her bag and smiled. "Ready. I had all this stuff prepared to go if I was ever in a situation like this one...were I would need to pack really quickly. When are we gonna leave ?" She asked, picking Abra up.

He climbed up her backpack and into a small empty pouch...which was a little small for him but he didn't seem to care.

Kris sat up, somewhat inattentively. Behind her, a Marill snoozed on a little fluffy pillow. "Yeah, you could," Kris informed the girl, without looking at her. "This is supposed to be a fundraiser, but as ever, the eggs are free for the taking. Grandma says I'm not allowed to charge you for them, but that we'd appreciate any donations you'd be willing to give." She sounded quite as bored as she looked.

 

She bent over and removed three eggs from the back of the display shelf and set them on the counter for this girl, whatever her name was, to choose from. The one on the left was yellow with a black thunderbolt pattern zigzagging horizontally across it, the middle one was white with strange red ovals patterned across its shell, and the one on the right was a pale pink colour with a spiral pattern. "Take your pick."

 

((Remember, eggs resemble the pokemon they hatch to be.))

 

~Larion is starting to look tired. I should finish this before Jasmine has time to make a come back~ Leon thought to himself. "Ok Riolu, use Quick Attack. Get him from all sides!" Riolu then sped towards Larion and appeared in front of him, then to the right of him, the left, behind him, Riolu was starting to appear all around him in preparation for the final blow. "Get him Riolu, end it now!"  Leon called out hoping that this attack would K.O Larion. "Ri-Riolu!!" Riolu stopped running around Larion and dashed towards him at blinding speeds for one last attack.

Still panting, Lairon attempted to leap out of Riolu's way. However, it was too heavy, too slow, and too tired. The attack clipped it in the side, causing it to spin. It landed with ill grace, where it slid, bouncing off the iron pillars, and still spinning, unable to gain its bearings.

 

((It's not quite over yet, but almost there, and Jasmine can't really do anything for Lairon at this point.))

((I'm gonna time skip to where Drew's hit the PC. We can say Luna said goodbye to Mrs. Danlep, but that's really up to you whether you want to skip it or not. If you object to me skipping like this, then I can undo it.))

 

Exiting the red-roofed building, Drew stood outside the door, looking for Luna. Aipom sat on his shoulder, completely energised and chattering incessantly, and in his jacket pocket were two occupied pokeballs, as well as Aipom's empty one.

Luna smiled and followed Drew down the stairs, and...after getting lots of food and baked goods from Mrs. Danlep...they left, after saying goodbye of course.

 

 

Luna waited just outside the pokemon center as Drew walked in to heal up Aipom. As the two of them walked out Luna smiled at Aipom. "Hey Aipom...sorry about before, gastly and I got a little carried away...I have a treat as an apology." She said, pulling a small brown thing from her bag that almost looked like a dumpling. "I make food myself and this is made with the best of berries." She said, holding it out for Aipom.

"Uh, I'll take that one." Stella said, pointing at the white egg with the red ovals. She wasn't exactly sure what it might be, but she was also pretty confident in what the others might be. Not to mention she also loved surprises.

 

Stella also put down a  bit of money down on the counter in front of the girl, as a donation.

Aipom had been gazing at Luna apprehensively for several moments, and probably would have kept his distance had food not become a factor in the equation. The moment she said the word treat, Aipom leapt off Drew's shoulder and scampered to Luna,snatching the dumpling from her hands and hurrying away into a tree to eat it happily. 

 

"Looks like he forgives you," Drew commented, amused.

 

They walked past Jasmine's Gym, where there was awful clattering, and emerged onto Route 39, and seconds later found themselves on 38, which was rather longer and somewhat less navigable. 

 

A pair of red eyes peered out from in a hole in a tree. A trainer's hat was visible on the other side of a short fence. A herd of Magenmite float by and scatter near a clump of trees, where several Spinarak and Pineco can be seen hanging. Ledyba and Farfetch'd float overhead. A Meowth is grooming itself on top of a cliff ledge nearby.

Lairon fell with a heavy crash, and the Force Palm, while not only dealing heavy damage in itself, propelled Lairon right into one of the metal pillars, which collapsed on top of it. 

 

"Lairon is unable to battle! Leon from Virbank City is the winner!"

 

"Good job, Lairon. You deserve a long rest." Jasmine said kindly, returning Lairon to its Pokeball before walking across the battlefield to Leon. 

 

"That was a fantastic battle you just gave me, Leon. Using Lairon's momentum against it was brilliant! You could go far. But you might want to catch another Pokemon before you challenge Chuck or Morty or Pryce. They're not as willing to bend the rules." She winked, then held out her hand. "I believe this is yours."

Stella picked up the egg and looked at a near-by town map beside the pokemon center, and looked for the location of the gym. Surely a normal type gym battle with a Vulpix, Oddish and Absol would be extremely easy.

After coming out of the Pokemon Center with the refreshed Plusle and Minun, Ryan walked back out to Route 40, looking back at the damage he had caused from this new Team Rocket. He slowly went up to the shore, looking out towards the horizon, before glancing at a ferry service right nearby. This ferry service was said to head to Cianwood, a small island nearby, and home of the Safari Zone. Only one word brushed through his mind: Adventure.

 

After paying the fee, Ryan got onto the small ferry, with Plusle and Minun already dashing on the floor of the boat, in their usual game of tag, as the boat motored off towards Cianwood.

Luna giggled as Aipom climbed up a tree and started munching on the treat.

She looked around at the many pokemon and couldn't help but smile...she was FINALLY going somewhere that wasn't in Olivine. She hadn't noticed the nearby train

"So do we get to sleep in the forest tonight ? I love camping...that would be so much fun." She said, grinning.

Leon was overjoyed. It was a this point he knew his break was over, he had just won his first Johto badge. ~One down, seven to go~ Leon thought to himself as he walked out. Seeing as both Riolu and Growlithe had taken quite a beating from their gym battle, Leon headed to the Pokemon Center to get them healed up. Once he and his Pokemon were ready to go he headed out to Route 38.

 

On his way there he saw a wanted poster depicting two men in black outfits with big red "R"s on their chest. The poster read "WARNING: There have been reports of Team Rocket activity in Johto and Kanto. If confronted with these criminals, do not attack them. Contact an officer immediately." Leon stared at the poster for a few minutes after reading it. "Bu-but I thought Red and Gold had taken care of these guys the first two times." Leon hated the idea that another one of these "teams" would be around to ruin his journey. "Great first Team Plasma now these guys again." Leon said to himself as he walked off into Route 38. He hoped he wouldn't have to deal with any Rockets on his journey but he would be keeping an eye out.

"No problem, kid," Kris said, without lifting her gaze from her magazine.

 

The Goldenrod Gym was situated right next to the monorail station, and was painted a horribly vivid pink color. Several crooning boys stood outside trying to see through the windows. It had a sloped, black roof, reminiscent of a Cleffa.

 

The inside of the gym had been redesigned to resemble what appeared to be a sparkling dance floor, built of panels that were constantly shifting color, and strobe lights, and even a disco ball. It would have been a strange enough theme for a gym had it the strobe lights not been tinted pink, nor the floor wobbling slightly in beat to the blaring music.

After coming out of the Pokemon Center with the refreshed Plusle and Minun, Ryan walked back out to Route 40, looking back at the damage he had caused from this new Team Rocket. The route is mostly deserted, as many water pokemon here have been stolen by Team Rocket. However, fortunately for you, you pass through the Whirl Islands unharmed by either the villainous group or the raging maelstroms that guard the islands. As the ferry docks in Cianwood City, you see a colony of Corsola that must have  survived, and a few sparse Krabbies scuttling across the beachfront north of the city, where you docked. There is also a half-broken boulder that might be hiding a pokemon inside of it.

Stella eventually made her way towards the gym. "Well. That's only slightly garish." She muttered seeing the bright pink... everything. Stella casually walked in to the gym, looking for the leader to challenge. "Surely if her ability to pick colors was as good as her battling ability, I have this made." She thought vainly.

 

((It doesn't really matter who I battle first, seeing as I'm going to use my Absol, who, as I tried to establish in previous posts, won't battle. So I'd prefer battling one of the regular trainers first...))

Once Ryan had stepped off the boat, he peered over at the few Pokemon that had survived the kidnapping, looking scared and weak. 

 

I can't believe them... Taking innocent Pokemon... Heh... Brendan wold have showed Team Rocket in their place.

 

Meanwhile, Plusle was playing around with a Krabby off close to the docks, while Minun had ventured towards a half-destroyed boulder, hearing a disturbance nearby...

Leon looked around at his surroundings. The nearby Pokemon didn't really interest him and he decided to avoid any trainers along the way as he wanted to rest after that long battle with Jasmine, besides it was getting late. Riolu, who was walking alongside Leon, had other plans. He noticed the red eyes peering out of the hole in a nearby tree and decided to run off once again to investigate. "Rio?" Riolu jumped up and started to peer into the hole.

Stella eventually made her way towards the gym. "Well. That's only slightly garish." She muttered seeing the bright pink... everything. Stella casually walked in to the gym, looking for the leader to challenge. "Surely if her ability to pick colors was as good as her battling ability, I have this made." She thought vainly.

 

((It doesn't really matter who I battle first, seeing as I'm going to use my Absol, who, as I tried to establish in previous posts, won't battle. So I'd prefer battling one of the regular trainers first...))

A cocky, green-haired lass strutted up across the dance floor, a slight sneer crossing her face as she examined the trainer just entering the gym. "This won't take long," she murmured to herself before announcing, "If it's Whitney you want to meet, two trainers first you must defeat. Before the leader you fight, you must fight Claire and Elaine; only then might you hope to snag the Badge, Plain."

 

The rhyme would have quite possibly sounded stupid anywhere else, but here it rang oddly impressive when recited like lyrics to a song that just happened to sync perfectly with the music blaring in the Gym.

Once Ryan had stepped off the boat, he peered over at the few Pokemon that had survived the kidnapping, looking scared and weak. 

 

I can't believe them... Taking innocent Pokemon... Heh... Brendan wold have showed Team Rocket in their place.

 

Meanwhile, Plusle was playing around with a Krabby off close to the docks, while Minun had ventured towards a half-destroyed boulder, hearing a disturbance nearby...

The Krabby seemed good-natured enough, and was snapping playfully at the Plusle with its knobby pincers; as Minun climbed up onto the boulder, it recoiled and fell into the sand as a wormlike, yellow head poked out, staring it in the face, before announcing, "Shuck," and disappearing back inside the boulder.

 

Leon looked around at his surroundings. The nearby Pokemon didn't really interest him and he decided to avoid any trainers along the way as he wanted to rest after that long battle with Jasmine, besides it was getting late. Riolu, who was walking alongside Leon, had other plans. He noticed the red eyes peering out of the hole in a nearby tree and decided to run off once again to investigate. "Rio?" Riolu jumped up and started to peer into the hole.

Riolu's curiosity was not a good thing in this scenario. For the Hoothoot it had disturbed seemed quite territorial. With a squawk, it flew out of the hole in the tree and began to peck at Riolu wildly and fiercely.

Stella rolled her eyes, then smiled, vainly, again. "That won't be a problem." She said, unclipping the pokeball that contained Vulpix from her necklace, and enlarging it to it's regular size. This would, hopefully, be easy enough to do quickly. She'd have the Plain Badge in no time, if all went well.

Minun jumped back a little, letting out a bit of a "Mi!" with its jump. What was that Pokemon?! Minun ran back towards Ryan, in another spout of "Mi" 's again. Once Ryan had heard the crying, he looked down towards his little partner. "Minun, what's the matter?", he asked calmly. Minun had gone into a fit of crying out "Mi!" and "Nun!" multiple times, before leading him over to the boulder from before. 

 

"What's special about the boulder here, Minun?", Ryan asked.

 

((I'll just take control of the Krabby here for you. Not gonna make him important to this or anything.)) Meanwhile, the Krabby had begun to shoot some small bubbles from its mouth, while Plusle had ran around, beginning to pop them.

"Ember now!" Leon commanded Growlithe who shot dozens of fireballs at the owl Pokemon to save it's teammate.

"Well," Drew looked uncomfortable. "I was intending to stay in Ecruteak tonight, but..." He looked up at the sun, which was low in the sky. "We can stay in the forest if you like. By..." He consulted his map. "Sudowoodo Grove. Does that sound fine?" He asked, as they continued along the route.   ((It's starting to get late, guys. Do you want to sleep the night away or play through it, pretending there's no such thing as sleep?))

Luna nodded. "I have been camping a few times and I loved it...being surrounded in wilderness...its rather fun and very relaxing...its nice for yoga and meditation." She said, matter of factly.

She smiled again and let out a happy sigh as they got farther and farther away from the Olivine.

Smiling, Drew nodded. "Sounds like we're camping in Sudo Grove tonight, then."

 

The air was quite fresh as they arrived in Ecruteak City. The ancient city seemed quite serene with the now-golden sky. Drew decided to let his new acquisition gain some fresh air. And out of the Pokeball with the blue sticker came a Shinx. The same one from that guy with the Rocket hat.

 

"RIO-RIOLU!" Riolu cried out. The Hoothoot kept pecking and pecking at Riolu, who was too busy covering it's face to attack. Luckily Leon had noticed Riolu was gone and arrived with Growlithe. "Ember now!" Leon commanded Growlithe who shot dozens of fireballs at the owl Pokemon to save it's teammate.

Ember caught Hoothoot in the wing, and it spiraled to the ground, colliding hard, and from where it hooed dolefully, looking sadly at the singed feathers on its wing.

The Trainer cast out her pokemon, which was revealed to be a gigantic beaverlike pokemon. Bibarel. A sharp voice resounded from one side, and another girl, this one with long dark hair announced, "The battle between Gym Trainer Claire of Goldenrod and Challenger Stella of Lilycove is about to begin! Each trainer will battle until they run out of Pokemon. Aaaaaand, begin!"
