Not every Osterran feels that way, but most of the ones in charge do. The very religious ones believe that the gods want them to conquer everything. Ironically, many current day members of the Cathedral could care less and only bother themselves with the constant domestic political drama.

 

The Vagaries don't have much of a place in Acclesiism other than being mentioned in the Book of Superposition. The notable exceptions are Ippsith, who is seen as a kind of grim reaper and Gessalt who is considered to be the elder god of time.

That's intriguing... If the majority of the peasants don't have much vigor, I don't think it would be easy to kick them into a warring mindset

First off, Osterrland has long progressed past a feudal system. There is a professional military as well, so it doesn't really matter how much zeal they have if they're ordered to fight. The longest war has been with Zan-Gent to the far west, which has gone on for over 400 years, though not continuously. That war has long fallen beyond reason, and the goal of the war is just to win and punish them.

 

They exist heavily in the mythology, but not all of the mythology is considered canonical. Also, in this world, the mythological one does not really exist. It does in an alternate universe - just not this one.

The longest war has been with Zan-Gent to the far west, which has gone on for over 400 years, though not continuously. That war has long fallen beyond reason, and the goal of the war is just to win and punish them.

That's almost like punishing both one's side and the other just out of spite... Totally inefficient :/

 

With all those wars going on, how can Osterrland stays prosper in the world? i don't think there would be any nations willing to trade with it.
