A friend of mine that basically taught me everything I know is currently going through a very rough time, and I'm completely and totally unable to help them out. That comic that you posted really sort of hit home with me just now. I don't have that many friends, real friends, IRL, so I'm torn up that I'm not able to do more to help. I would do anything, but there's nothing I can do.

 

My grandmother's health seems to be failing fast. She's an older person, and I know she isn't immortal. Still… More than any other person in this world, I love and respect her. She lost her right arm when she was younger, but she came to back to work within a few weeks. She worked hard her entire life to ensure that her kids and her grandkids didn't live in poverty.

 

Because my parents had a rather rocky relationship, my grandmother was the one force of stability in my childhood and she practically raised me. Now, she really isn't doing very well.

 

Sorry to vent on you, I'm just a little under the weather at the moment.
