What a weird day to start your weekend

 

Dawgg, I stayed up until about 3 AM yesterday (it's 11:53 PM, so still today...) after waking up at 4 AM on Thursday. Awesome stuff. Now I am tired, but electronics keep me up! :D :D

Soul Drinkers are 2nd founding and they most certainly cannot maintain 3 dreadnoughts even before their demise. Also I was referring to 2nd and 3rd founding blood angel decedents, but I'm not certain.

 

Soul Drinkers are renegade.

Without the support of the Imperium, there is no tech.

Besides, they are a raiding Chapter. By default, they aschew from Dreadnought use.

 

Blood Angel geneseed chapters mainly use "Furioso" Pattern. That's a very rare relic and only one Forge World produces them any more.

That does not mean they would still not prepare for it. No doubt even those chapters inter their mortally wounded in caskets in hopes of internment into a Dread someday.

 

Splinter Chapters are borderline Renegade, Imperial authority will not recognize support requests from those.

That includes Munitorum and Mechanicus.

Many chaos chapters have been known to use dreadnoughts. 1 off the top of my head are the Iron Warriors

 

Almost all of the Traitor Chapters use them except Alpha Legion.

But Dreds have been discontinued in favour of Defilers.

Very few Dreadnought used by the Traitor Chapters have actual Marines in them, usually it's Daemons.

And those that still remain after ten millenia since Heresy, you can't really call the drivers Astartes any more.

 

Traitor Legions do not inter their dying. They are lost, they failed their God by falling in combat.

They are forgotten, not lauded.

 

Only in VERY few exceptions has it been used as a punitive measure by some of the more derailed warlords.

Instead of Caskets nullifying the pain, they amplify it.

There is such a thing as a fresh recruit when you compare to the years of service many veterans have.

 

No Marine in Power Armour is a recruit in any way or form.

Each is a Astartes, each is worthy.

Besides, if a marine is mortally wounded, apothecary will not shoot more veteran marine to replace him in the limited number of caskets.

It's a very rare for a Marine to be so wounded that he will not survive without one in any event.

You either kill a marine or he makes a full recovery, usually.

Mid-ground is VERY rare.

And even rarer is there to be a change for that marine to survive until he gets to the casket.

 

Veterans may get first picks, maybe, but even stasis has it's limits and it's a Apothecary's decision who get's interred first.

To be honest...

When?

I only had the small cup of coffee on Sunday... and Thursday, I had some iced coffee, but I was still killer tired after the hike.

But I'm CRAZY when I'm up late... I laugh at things that should not be laughed at...
